Patterns of Modern People’s Living Antinomies and Their Transcendence: Analyzing Fromm’s Man for Himself from Moral Philosophical Perspective [

  • In >Man for Himself<, Erich Fromm revealed the antinomy of the ethical relationship between man and nature, and the antinomy contained in nous-man centering on the basic problem about >Tao-Te< morphology; he disclosed that the relationship between modern people and themselves was mediated by the knowledge as commodity and then further led to the antinomy between man and himself centering on the basic problem about >Lun-Li< morphology; and he pointed out the antinomy between man and man, man and society during to the near sight in capitalist designing >better man< and >better society< centering on the basic problem about >ethics-moral< morphology. Based on these, Fromm brought up how to eliminate or transcend the multiple antinomies so as to become a complete man. Therefore, Fromm attempted to cultivate production humanitarian- universal ethics by combining ethics and psychology. However, Fromm’s theory can only be a >utopia< in practice because of his over-focus on humanistic ethics and psychoanalytic social-psychology in methodology, and the detachment from the realistic social foundation.
