Dieses Dokument fasst den Projekfortschritt des BAM-Projektes "Ermittlung geeigneter Wärmeführungen zur Wasserstoffreduktion beim Schweißen höherfester Feinkornbaustähle mit modifiziertem Sprühlichtbogen" im Rahmen des Fachausschusses 1 "Schweißmetallurgie & Werkstoffverhalten" des DVS e. V. zusammen.
Um den wachsenden Anforderungen nach Leichtbau und Ressourceneffizienz im Kran-, Nutzfahrzeug- und Brückenbau gerecht zu werden, kommen in diesen Industriebranchen vermehrt hochfeste Feinkornbaustähle mit Streckgrenzen von mehr als 690 MPa zum Einsatz. Allerdings erfordern diese Stähle bei der schweißtechnischen Verarbeitung äußerste Sorgfalt, weil gerade die Sensibilität gegenüber einer Degradation der mechanischen Eigenschaften, durch den im Lichtbogen aufgenommenen Wasserstoff, mit steigender Festigkeit signifikant zunimmt und zur wasserstoffunterstützten Kaltrissbildung führen kann. In diesem Vortrag werden Ergebnisse vorgestellt, die den Einfluss von Kontaktrohrabstand, Drahtvorschub sowie Schweißspannung auf den Wasserstoffeintrag in Ein- und Mehrlagenschweißungen aus hochfestem Feinkornbaustahl zeigen. Dabei wird der konventionelle Lichtbogen mit dem modernen modifizierten Sprühlichtbogen verglichen. Ziel ist es, durch geeignete Wärmeführungen die Wasserstoffkonzentration in Schweißverbindungen zu reduzieren, um somit die Gefahr einer wasserstoffunterstützten Kaltrissbildung zu minimieren.
In den letzten Jahren gab es bei Ventilen zahlreiche technische Weiterentwicklungen, die einerseits zusätzliche Funktionen wie Strömungsbegrenzungs-, Druckregel- und Restdruckfunktion andererseits auch eine immer kompaktere Bauweise betrafen. Diese sogenannten VIPR (Valve with Integrated Pressure Regulator) werden immer häufiger, insbesondere im medizinischen Bereich, eingesetzt. Dies hat leider auch zu einer Zunahme von Ausbränden in Zusammenhang beim Einsatz mit hoch verdichtetem Sauerstoff geführt. Eine mögliche Ursache hierfür können Sauerstoffdruckstöße beim Öffnen der VIPR in Kombination mit mechanischen Bewegungen von Bauteilen im Inneren sein. Auch die Verwendung von für diesen speziellen Fall ungeeigneten Dichtmaterialien und Gleitmittel erscheint als Ursache für die Ausbrände möglich. Allerdings ist es ebenfalls denkbar, dass beim Betrieb der VIPR, z.B. bei Reinigungs- und Desinfektionsarbeiten, organische Stoffe in die VIPR und Anschlüsse gelangen und so die Ausbrände verursachen.
Um konstruktions- und bauseitige Ursachen sicher auszuschließen, schlägt die BAM vor, eine neuartige Lebensdauerprüfung mit verdichtetem Sauerstoff für VIPR zu entwickeln und später in Normen zu überführen. Bei der zzt. üblichen Lebensdauerprüfung, die mit Luft bzw. mit Stickstoff durchgeführt wird, werden die VIPR mit einer vorgegebenen Anzahl von Öffnungs- und Schließvorgängen unter Last geprüft. Diese Prüfung hat sich durchaus bewährt, berücksichtigt aber nicht die Besonderheiten des Reaktionsverhaltens der Dichtungselemente und der eingesetzten Materialien mit Sauerstoff.
Gegenstand des Vorhabens ist es, VIPR auf einem „Sauerstoff-Lebensdauerprüfstand“ mit Sauerstoff unter hohem Druck zu untersuchen und ein Prüfverfahren zur sicherheitstechnischen Bewertung von VIPR für Sauerstoff zu entwickeln.
Neben der systematischen Untersuchung des sauerstoffspezifischen Einflusses auf die eingesetzten Dichtungen und Gleitmittel soll auch eine sicherheitstechnische Bewertung der VIPR vorgenommen werden. Dabei sollen sowohl industrielle/technische VIPR (gemäß EN ISO 22435) wie auch VIPR für medizinische Anwendungen (gemäß EN ISO 10524-3) untersucht werden. Im Ergebnis soll die Eignung des neuartigen Prüfverfahrens für die sicherheitstechnische Bewertung von VIPR festgestellt werden.
For how trivial or provocative it can sound, the best neutron spectrometer in the world does not produce science by itself. By definition of Materials Science, neutron scattering data on engineering materials must be used as a tool to understand, and even tailor, materials performance. In order for this to happen, it is clear that neutron data need to be acquired under the most relevant condition possible, coupled to other experimental techniques, and capitalized by means of proper simulations and data analysis.
In fact, access to neutron sources is not routine. Consequently, it is imperative to search ways to make neutron data rentable for the material science and industrial research community.
In this presentation, and based on the example of Ceramic Diesel Particulate Filters and Aluminum Matrix Composites, we will show a couple of strategies to combine neutron data with other experiments, and with theoretical models. Their combination allows raising the value of experiments from data production to problem-solving. Obviously, these are only a few among the many combinations possible to help improving materials properties, performance, and safety.
Die BAM-Liste - Anforderungen an Tanks für die Beförderung gefährlicher Güter – mit den Beständigkeitsbewertungen metallischer und polymerer Werkstoffe ist Grundlage für die stoffbezogenen Baumusterzulassungen für Tankcontainer und ortsbewegliche Tanks zur Beförderung gefährlicher Güter durch die BAM seit der Herausgabe der 1. Auflage 1989. Diese Beständigkeitsbewertungen werden nicht nur bundesweit, sondern weltweit als Erkenntnisquelle genutzt. Für die Zulassung von Kesselwagen und Tankfahrzeugen werden diese Daten auch herangezogen. Die Werkstoffbeständigkeitsdaten und der damit verbundene Informationsservice der BAM haben mit Sicherheit dazu beigetragen, Leckagen von Tanks aufgrund des Einsatzes von Tanks/Kesselwagen aus einem gegenüber dem Füllgut unbeständigem Tankwerkstoff oder Dichtungswerkstoff zu vermeiden.

Ein neuer Ansatz bei elektrochemischen Korrosionsuntersuchungen kann durch den Einsatz von gelartigen Elektrolyten als Alternative zu wässrigen Prüfelektrolyten beschritten werden. Gelartige Elektrolyte ermöglichen minimalinvasive Untersuchungen an natürlich gebildeten Zinkdeckschichten. Dadurch können korrosionsrelevante Kennwerte ermittelt werden, die Aussagen zur Deckschichtbildung und zur Stabilität der gebildeten Deckschichten unter verschiedenen klimatischen Bedingungen erlauben. In diesem Beitrag wird anhand verschiedener Deckschichtzustände an Zink der Mehrwert von Untersuchungen mit gelartigen Elektrolyten für die Korrosionsforschung verdeutlicht.
