FAQ
Can I place article preprints and postprints on OPUS?
The publication of article preprints or postprints is in most cases legally permitted. Publishers often allow open access publication of essay preprints or postprints on university servers after a specified period of time. However, you can register titles on OPUS before the period is over. Just upload your document and we will post it as soon as the publisher allows. In the submission form, enter the earliest permissible online publication date in the corresponding field. If OPUS is the first publication of your text, enter today’s date.
Publication agreements usually contain information about restrictions. In case you do not have yours at hand, consult the Open Policy Finder to see the embargo period that your publisher or journal typically requires.
