  • Please refer to the General doctoral regulations of the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt and/or the respective faculty's doctoral regulations for information on what must be taken into account when publishing a doctoral thesis.

  • In accordance with the General doctoral regulations, you require your supervisor's approval for publishing this version of your doctoral thesis.

  • Übertragung von Nutzungsrechten

  • In your capacity as author of the thesis, you have to transfer the non-exclusive right of publication and storage of the document to the University Library of the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt and all copyright deposit offices. This will not restrict your right to further publication of the document in any other forms.

    If you plan to also publish the text with a publisher, please contact the publisher to clarify whether they accept parallel online publication. It is not possible to withdraw an online publication from KU.opus.

  • Printed version

  • (Please note: Other conditions apply for cumulative theses. Please see “Exception: Cumulative doctoral thesis” below.)
    • Three permanently bound prints of your work on wood- and acid-free paper (ISO 9706) for the University Library (copyright deposit, archiving). Paperback, spiral binding, plastic covers or PVC for the cover are not permitted.
    • Please use a laser printer for the prints, no inkjet printer!
    • Please send the copies to:

    • Depending on the respectively applicable doctoral regulations, you might have to submit additional copies to your faculty.

    Please note: The prints must be based on the PDF file submitted by you. You have to ensure that the format of the printed and electronic versions is identical in order to enable correct citing of your work.

  • Electronic version

  • For any questions regarding technical issues, please contact the responsible colleague.
    • The publication format for your electronic doctoral thesis in OPUS is Adobe PDF (Portable Document Format). Please do not create PDFs that are password-protected or copy protect, as protected PDF documents are not suitable for long-term archiving.
    • For archiving purposes, the electronic version must additionally be saved in the original format (Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, etc.). If the original document consists of several individual documents, please combine them in one single ZIP file!

    You do not have to include a résumé in the copies submitted to the University Library.

  • Information on your work

  • In order to enable a precise search for your work in OPUS and via internet search engines, you will be asked to enter metadata (partly mandatory fields) regarding your work during the electronic registration process in OPUS.

    • Keywords
      • GND keyword: please only use controlled vocabulary contained in the Gemeinsamen Normdatei
      • Keyword(s): if important terms regarding the content of your work are not included in the Gemeinsame Normdatei database, please also add freely chosen terms
    • An abstract of the work in the original language, no longer than 5,000 characters
    • An abstract of the work in another language, no longer than 5,000 characters

    Please note: The information provided by you will help others find your work and at the same time serves as your “business card”.
    The University Library reserves the right to revise and edit your keywording.
    Please make use of the non-binding possibility to have a look at the registration form.

  • Exception: Cumulative doctoral thesis

  • For the cases Please contact the responsible OPUS contact person.
    For the binding and the paper quality of the prints, the same conditions apply as for monographic dissertations (see above).

Habilitation at the KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt

Habilitation theses that were written at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt can be published in KU.opus; habilitation theses have been compiled at another institution by members of the University can be made accessible online via KU.edoc.
