Mentoring - The Key to Succession

  • With the wave of retirements now facing the library profession, how do we ensure that the knowledge and experience that we have accumulated over the years doesn’t get lost? How do we transfer our experience and passion for the profession to the newer generations? Mentoring programs are one of the ways this is done. Our speaker will draw from his personal experience as a mentee and a mentor, as well as describe the establishing and running of a staff mentoring program at the Public Library where he works. Whether it be informal or formal, a mentoring programme can benefit you and your institution!
