Expectations and Experiences of Generation Y in the Cultural Sector – and how employers can deal with it
- The cultural sector continues to be an attractive labour market. But employers notice more frequently: There is a gap between their expectations and the demands of the young generation as employees. The so-called "Generation Y (Gen Y)" is demanding, theit openess to change a job is high. This poses prob-lems for organizations that try to attract the best minds to new positions. But often the young professio-nals who have gained, leave the institution after a relatively short period of time. In order to close the gap between the expectations of employers and young professionals, the results of a study on the "Candidate Experience" are presented below. Recommendations for action are derived for both applicants and institutions.
