  • Due to the increasing interaction between information and communication technologies (ICT) and the possibilities of the Internet of Things (IoT), product development today is confronted with new challenges concerning implementation, integration and use. From the perspective of accompanying E(L)SA research (ethical, legal and social aspects), the reflexive monitoring of technical developments right from the start and throughout the entire development and production process turns out to be just as relevant as evaluating the product in its various usage contexts. Digitized technologies should not only be assessed with respect to their applicability and the challenges of their implementation, rather should they be actively codesigned throughout the entire product production process. It is therefore necessary to devise a methodological approach in which the existing models of reflexive technology impact assessment are taken up, their compatibilities are examined and the synergies of reflexive technology assessment andDue to the increasing interaction between information and communication technologies (ICT) and the possibilities of the Internet of Things (IoT), product development today is confronted with new challenges concerning implementation, integration and use.
