This has generated mixed resonance about the movement. The present study aimed at understanding the criticism of body positivity being co-opted by corporations and reinforcing beauty ideals by examining body positive messages and their impact. This thesis provides a content analysis of 150 Instagram posts of 15 body positive influencers on Instagram while focusing on commercialistic aspects and follower interaction. The results showed that body positive content usually depicted broad ranges of body sizes but focused less on communicating positive body image themes. It was found that commercialism is majorly integrated into the accounts and follower interaction is higher if the individual showed more skin or self-objectified poses.}, language = {en} }
