Be it climate change, digitalization or the COVID-19 pandemic, our students need to learn how to work in an always changing environment, in interdisciplinary teams as well as in international contexts, to address these challenges. At the same time, learning spaces and educational environments have to transform and adapt to this new educational curriculum with innovative approaches. After two years of an ongoing exchange of ideas, we believe that LEARN[IN] is a rather small but good step in that direction. This E-book provides an overview of our DAAD-financed LEARN[IN] project in 2019-2020 that dealt with the "re-definition of learning spaces as a key factor of 21st century education." LEARN[IN] is a DAAD-financed project within the research programme "Hochschuldialog mit Sudeuropa" (Higher Education Dialogue with Southern Europe). The project "LEARN[IN]" is conducted by SRH University Heidelberg/Germany, Universita degli studi Firenze/Italy and Universidade do Minho/Portugal.}, language = {en} } @masterthesis{Runge2021, type = {Bachelor Thesis}, author = {Runge, Saeden Liam}, title = {"Sorry Mate, Wrong Path": The Impact of a Branching Narrative Structure on the Protagonist's Character Arc in the Interactive Film Bandersnatch}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:0298-opus4-12075}, school = {SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences}, year = {2021}, abstract = {Bandersnatch (2018) is an interactive film with a branching narrative structure and a protagonist who undergoes internal change - in several different ways. In this thesis, I examine the impact the branching of narrative paths has on the structure of the protagonist's various character arcs. I identify five distinct choice types and five plotlines, four of which feature character change. Using an adapted version of Kristin Thompson's (1999) analytical model, I then analyze one exemplary plotline's plot structure, demonstrating certain structural anomalies. In the analysis of the different choice types' impact on the character arcs, the concepts of the fatal flaw, lie the character believes, internal need and truth the character learns are used in tandem with the above model to track the progression of the plotlines' arcs. I demonstrate the different choice types' effects and highlight several issues that arise as well as interesting mitigation tactics used in the film.}, language = {en} } @masterthesis{Lueck2021, type = {Bachelor Thesis}, author = {L{\"u}ck, Anne}, title = {Fitness-Werbung f{\"u}r Nahrungserg{\"a}nzungsmittel : In welchen Rollentypologien werden M{\"a}nner und Frauen von den Herstellern Qi² und MyProtein dargestellt?}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:0298-opus4-12043}, school = {SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences}, year = {2021}, abstract = {Immer mehr neue Proteinprodukte kommen auf den Markt: Proteinjoghurts und Quarks, M{\"u}slis und Shakes. This has generated mixed resonance about the movement. The present study aimed at understanding the criticism of body positivity being co-opted by corporations and reinforcing beauty ideals by examining body positive messages and their impact. This thesis provides a content analysis of 150 Instagram posts of 15 body positive influencers on Instagram while focusing on commercialistic aspects and follower interaction. The results showed that body positive content usually depicted broad ranges of body sizes but focused less on communicating positive body image themes. It was found that commercialism is majorly integrated into the accounts and follower interaction is higher if the individual showed more skin or self-objectified poses.}, language = {en} }
