Motivated by industrial anti-sloshing motion functions [1], this work presents a compact testbed and a simple open-loop strategy that reproduces the effect on a low-cost setup. A camera rigidly mounted to the carriage moves with the tank and records the free surface, enabling extraction of the visible surface angle per frame. The first two sloshing frequencies and the dominant-mode damping are identified from experiments. The dominant mode is then modeled as a lightly damped second-order system excited by the carriage motion. Two command-side strategies are compared: Zero-Vibration-Derivative (ZVD) input shaping and an inverse transfer function prefilter. The ZVD method delivers near-zero residual slosh after the end of the move with a predictable, fixed time extension equal to the damped period. The inverse function prefilter also suppresses the sloshing with the advantage of being a simpler approach. Both approaches are open-loop and need only the identified frequency and damping for a given fill level of the container. A single-mode simulation based on the identified model predicts the measured behaviour successfully, and both suppression strategies are verified in simulation and experiments. This is due to the desire for greater energy efficiency and flexible, intelligent energy distribution. However, DC can still exhibit alternating current (AC) components from pulsating loads on an industrial grid, which may excite resonances. This work derives an equivalent circuit model for the grid and verifies it using a motor test bench. Design considerations for the DC link capacitance are presented to enable the integration into a decentralized drive. This study uses frequency-domain fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy to investigate the presence and effects of microplastics in four food types—ham, honey, fish, and lettuce. Samples were prepared with known quantities of high-density polyethylene particles, and their phase-dependent fluorescence lifetimes were analyzed to distinguish between contaminated and uncontaminated food. The results indicate that fluorescence lifetime analysis can effectively identify microplastic contamination, revealing distinct fluorescence characteristics for each food matrix. This research underscores the importance of innovative detection methods in ensuring food safety, highlighting the need for further studies on automated microplastic detection. The aim is to develop prediction tools for sound insulation, focusing on acoustic comfort and the perception of noise from technical service equipment. The project focuses on wastewater systems in timber and lightweight constructions. Concepts need to be developed to ensure that acoustic comfort is taken into account in the design process. HSD is working on the psychoacoustic aspects. Signal detection theory will be used to formulate suitable evaluation methods to assess noise from building service equipment. Listening tests and field measurements will be used to develop criteria for sound insulation in timber construction to improve acoustic comfort. As part of the project, structure-borne sound characterisation will be carried out at THRo on a reception plate test rig. Therefore a reception plate with similar properties to timber frame constructions will be used. The aim is to develop methods for the direct measurement of structure-borne sound power in timber and lightweight constructions, while also determining airborne sound power. Initial results will be presented in the paper. Y1 - 2025 ER - TY - GEN A1 - Kruse, Tobias A1 - Schöpfer, Fabian A1 - Schanda, Ulrich A1 - Mayr, Andreas R. This paper considers methods to characterize the source in terms of structure-borne-sound (sbs) emission. Laboratory methods for sbs source characterization are given in EN 15657. In current research and development projects at Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences these methods are applied to fully characterize technical equipment such as heat pumps or ventilation systems. This includes the determination of the equivalent blocked force, the source single equivalent free velocity and the source single equivalent mobility. EN 15657 describes various methods to determine the required properties. Recent project experience showed that this is essentially necessary because the most suitable method has to be applied depending on the nature of the technical equipment. This paper presents experiences with indirect measurement methods on the high-mobility plate and the direct measurement method given in EN 15657. Drawing on Marks et al.'s (2001) team processes framework, we examine how AI influences interpersonal processes like conflict management, motivation, and affect management. Findings suggest that while AI can enhance objectivity, motivation, and efficiency, it may also introduce new tensions and anxieties about job security. We critically analyze both the opportunities and risks associated with AI integration, including the role of trust and individual perceptions. To address gaps in existing research, we outline a qualitative research agenda exploring the nature and distribution of interpersonal processes in human-AI teams. Preliminary interviews reveal that AI has strong motivational potential, though emotional responses vary, with some team members expressing fears and differing adaptation speeds.
