This is usually done in a fluidized bed (Wurster coater) or a coating drum. Pneumatic conveying systems are usually already installed for conveying particulate media, for example between process steps or the filling. In pneumatic conveying, the fluidized state of the Wurster Coater is already present. The basic idea of the current project is to implement the coating step directly in the pneumatic conveying system. Experimental approach: The coating tests were carried out using a vacuum system. For this purpose, various coating chambers with different nozzle arrangements were printed using a rapid prototyper. The nozzles used were also printed in-house and adapted to the requirements. Particles with a diameter of 3 mm were used for the tests and sprayed with a common protective coating as well as blue dye. The particles were heated to 120°C in order to supply the necessary heat to evaporate the solvent. Images of the coated particles were taken and evaluated with ImageJ to analyze the coating result. The amount of coating delivered changes the coating layer linearly as expected. The tests showed that it is possible to coat particles during pneumatic conveying. A comparison with coating in a Wurster coater showed that the amount of overspray is higher than in a Wurster coater, leading a lower efficiency in the coating step in pneumatic conveying though.}, language = {en} } @article{StromeckFaderlPentlehnerKensyetal.2011, author = {Stromeck-Faderl, A. and Pentlehner, Dominik and Kensy, U. and Dick, B.}, title = {High-resolution electronic spectroscopy of the BODIPY chromophore in supersonic beam and superfluid helium droplets}, series = {CHEM-PHYS-CHEM, Special Issue: Laser Chemistry and Spectroscopy}, journal = {CHEM-PHYS-CHEM, Special Issue: Laser Chemistry and Spectroscopy}, number = {12}, year = {2011}, abstract = {We present the fluorescence excitation and dispersed emission spectra of the parent compound of the boron dipyrromethene (BODIPY) dye class measured in a supersonic beam and isolated in superfluid helium nanodroplets. The selection of the stirrer is based on the desired flow pattern and the rheological properties of the material being processed. A change in the mixing task or a significant shift in material properties during the process can lead to decreased efficiency, longer mixing times, or poorer mixing quality. To address the need for handling various tasks across a wide range of applications with the same mixer, a multi-purpose mixer with adjustable tools was developed. It consists of a coaxial stirrer with an inner and an outer stirrer. The blades of the inner stirrer can be changed in inclination during the process. This allows different tasks, such as dispersion, aeration, and suspension, to be performed efficiently in succession without the need for tool changes. Additionally, the process parameters can be dynamically changed to compensate for changes in the process. Energy input into the fluid serves as a key parameter to quantify the quality of a dispersion process. The three independent actuators can be used to achieve the best energy input. To identify the optimal settings, a control algorithm called the "automated design of experience" was developed. Reducing the flow rate results in lower centrifugal forces and hence separation efficiency. Increasing the flow rate increases the pressure loss, while the separation efficiency suffers from increased turbulence. It is also not possible to react to modifications of the material or liquid phase to be separated. The aim of the present development is to create a cyclone that can react to variable operating parameters to keep the separation efficiency at a high level. Material \& Methodology: Good separation in cyclones requires a stable formation of the secondary vortex, which can be characterized by high tangential flow velocity (Schubert 2003). By implementing a variable cross-section in the inlet channel, the feeding velocity into the cyclone can be kept constant at changing flow rates to maintain the secondary vortex and keep comparable separation efficiency and pressure loss. An inline turbidity measurement at the upstream outlet can be used to monitor dynamically the separation efficiency. The variable cross-section area can be controlled depending on the fluctuating volume flow or on a specific outlet concentration based on the measured turbidity. Experiments showed that operating the system at a constant pressure loss improves the separation efficiency despite a reduction of the volume flow. Besides a solvent induced shift of the electronic transition frequency, in many cases, a spectral fine structure can be resolved for electronic and vibronic transitions which goes beyond the expected feature of a zero phonon line accompanied by a phonon wing as known from matrix isolation spectroscopy. The spectral shape of the zero phonon line and the helium induced phonon wing depends strongly on the dopant species. Phonon wings, for example, are reported ranging from single or multiple sharp transitions to broad (Δν > 100 cm-1) diffuse signals. Google Trends und Web of Science zeigen f{\"u}r den Suchbegriff „Circular Economy" {\"a}hnliche Ergebnisse. This study focuses on the extraction of biopolymers from various algae species (Gracilaria spinuligeria., Auxenochlorella pyrenoidosa, and Spirulina platensis) and food by-products such as corn gluten meal and wheat gluten. The extraction process employs an organic solvent with a dielectric constant ε(25°C)= 42. Different concentrations of the starting material and varying extraction times were tested to optimize yield and quality of the biopolymers. The sample composition was analyzed using Py-GC/MS, HPLC, IC, TGA and elemental analysis. Results indicated that the chlorine concentration in the saltwater algae (Gracilaria spinuligeria) was excessively high, making it unsuitable for use due to the further concentration of chlorine in the extract. Additionally, the film-forming properties of biopolymers extracted from Gracilaria spinuligeria were less ideal compared to those derived from wheat and corn gluten. Spirulina platensis and Auxenochlorella pyrenoidosa lack a significant prolamin fraction and cannot be extracted as effectively as corn gluten meal and wheat gluten. The film forming capabilities and thermal properties of corn and wheat gluten film, as well as fresh water algae films, showed promising results. An important goal is to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable use of CO2 sourced from waste gas (e.g. from cement production or wood gasification) as a raw material for the production of chemical base materials as an alternative to traditional fossil fuels. Using a new direct electrolysis method is an innovative and sustainable way of producing green ethylene. This process can create regional value chains, starting from reducing CO2 emissions, by sequestering it in sustainably produced ethylene, at local companies to utilizing the non-fossil raw materials for the chemical industry. The by-products, such as CO and hydrogen, also play a crucial role for further applications and processing. The process is based on a chemical redox reaction within an electrolysis cell. CO2 is reduced at the cathode, producing CO and other by-products such as hydrogen and ethylene, while water is oxidized at the anode, resulting in the production of oxygen. The resulting gas stream on the cathode side is separated, focusing on achieving a high yield and purity of ethylene. Various distillation and membrane technology processes can be used for this purpose. This relationship is of particular importance for redox materials such as \(Ca_{1-x} Sr_x MnO_{3-\delta}\), where reversible oxygen ions exchange and oxidation state shifts are key to their functionality. In the first study, scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to examine how varying Sr content affects the morphology and microstructure of \(Ca_{1-x} Sr_x MnO_{3-\delta}\) powder compositions. The results indicate that increasing Sr content leads to smaller particle sizes and improved particle size homogeneity. Granules with Sr concentrations ranging from 0 \% to 40 \% exhibit notable changes in morphology. However, the microporosity and d50 vary slightly across the samples in a non-monotonic manner, with no clear trend emerging with respect to Sr concentration. Parameters including particle size distribution of the raw material, overall microporosity, and structural characteristics of these macrostructures were analyzed for their effect on oxidation rates. The recoiling ion fragments are probed by time-of-flight measurements and two-dimensional velocity map imaging. Correlation analysis of the emission directions of I+ ions recoiling from each end of the molecules reveals significant deviation from axial recoil, i.e., where the I+ ions leave strictly along the I-I symmetry axis. For isolated molecules, the relative angular distribution of the I+ ions is centered at 180∘, corresponding to perfect axial recoil, but with a full width at half maximum of 30∘. For molecules inside He droplets, the width of the distribution increases to 45∘. These results provide a direct measure of the accuracy of Coulomb explosion as a probe of the spatial orientation of molecules, which is particularly relevant in connection with laser-induced molecular alignment and orientation. In addition, our studies show how it is possible to identify fragmentation pathways of the Coulomb explosion for the isolated 1,4-diiodobenzene molecules.
