TY - THES A1 - Raza, Adil T1 - Technological Implementation According to the Market Needs in the Elderly Care Industry N2 - In Germany, there are almost 15,000 nursing care services that collect information about people in need of care on a daily basis. At present, elderly homes use manual processes for data collection, which leads to poor data quality, considerable inefficiency and burden on the caregiving staff. This thesis describes the current market situation and proposes a technological solution on how to improve the quality, effectivity, and efficiency of the elderly care sector by using data collection and utilisation techniques. Moreover, it justifies the advantages of technological usage, which assists the caregiving staff in relieving the burden of daily tasks and, importantly, helps to collect high-quality data that could be used to do predictive analysis and automate the monotonous processes involved in the elderly homes. A well-documented fully functional digital application prototype was developed and tested by the elderly health industry related individuals of different age groups. The digitisation of the data collection process played a significant role in the collection of high-quality data. Furthermore, the results indicate that usage of that data has a direct correlation with the emergency response time, which could be reduced by almost half. However, further research is required to improve the predictive analysis system and the user experience of the application.
