However, with a large number of overseas Chinese students returning to work in recent years, some disadvantages of returnees gradually appear that the experiences of studying abroad have been unable to satisfy domestic employers' needs. In this bachelor's thesis, the questions on "whether overseas studies still maintain the large benefits on employability for the majority of returned Chinese overseas students, and if not, what are the reasons?" were answered to explore the employability between Chinese returnees and the local graduates. In order to get better analysis, appropriate methods (secondary analysis, literature review, questionnaire, and so forth) were implemented during the study, which questionnaire was considered as the main research measure to update the current condition. The results were somewhat different from the previous studies which indicated a more positive attitude towards the returnees' employability. Overseas qualifications were not considered as a decisive factor for employment in the Chinese market that more comprehensive experiences were required. Overall, the thesis is possible to provide people with a clearer understanding in the current employability of Chinese students under different study background.}, language = {en} } @masterthesis{Saberi, type = {Bachelor Thesis}, author = {Saberi, Sabiha}, title = {Governance of Global Value Chains in the Garment Industry: The Bangladesh Fire and Building Safety Accord}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:hbz:1383-opus4-18072}, school = {Hochschule Rhein-Waal}, pages = {80}, abstract = {Global Value Chain (GVC) is a process where production takes places in different countries for different stages. Many of the scholars have argued that social upgrading and economic upgrading is connected as a result of Global Value Chain. This paper is built on the concept of Global Value Chain (GVC) in terms of social upgrading. There will be discussion on the fire incident of "Tazreen Fashion" and another consecutive disaster named as "Rana Plaza Tragedy" and the aftermath of International Labor Organization intervention resulted in "The Bangladesh Accord: Fire and Building safety". GVC upgrading framework approach and the link between framework and the Accord helps to understand the governance. The Accord analyzed as GVC upgrading tool and addresses the shortcomings of inspection and transparency issues. The paper aims at explain how much the accord has been conducted using GVC upgrading framework. This paper draws a conclusion by analyzing from publicly available secondary data. The research question: "Is there a target group for eVTOLs?" is analyzed theoretically with the Disruptive Innovation Theory (Bower and Christensen, 1995) and particularly the Technology Acceptance Model ("T.A.M.", Davis, 1989). One-to-one interviews, with potential regular- and premium users of eVTOLs are conducted and strive to verify the Expected results derived from theory, which are then classified as insufficient. The Results show, that there is an interest of potential users in eVTOL flight services. Distinct factors are displayed in the Results section, and while for regular users, trust in the vehicles and safety is important, premium users see time efficiency as a precondition. One example is related to the German food packaging industry, where small and mediumsized enterprises were affected and had to adopt strategic responses. The previous literature on crisis management is still immature in terms of strategic responses to the crisis of this double shock. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to analyze how smes in the singleuse take-away food packaging industry in the German food packaging industry respond to the double shock of the COVID-19 pandemic and the new packaging policies. Thus, the specific strategy and theory of the food packaging industry facing the double shocks are analyzed and discussed. Ten semi-structured interviews were conducted with operators and top managers of singleuse food packaging companies using a multi-case study approach. Cross-case analysis identified common strategic responses such as Retrenchment, Persevering innovation, exit, and cooperation to address challenges posed by shocks. Crisis management frameworks were developed based on integrated strategic responses. Companies in the food packaging industry strategically combine these responses rather than employing them in isolation, enabling related enterprises to thrive and progress amidst crises. The low, moderate and high inflation periods in Germany were analyzed in regard to the impact on the three different social classes. The indicator to measure the change was the share of income and cost of living. Moreover, the New Keynesian framework is applied within models. The thesis aims at identifying factors which have an impact on managers' unbalanced gender presence and pay. A comparative country case study examines the situation in Australia and Germany. Results show that women's high share in part-time employment, tradition, their choice of profession and behavior (influenced by stereotypes) have a significant impact on women's earnings and career advancement. Existing policies in both countries that demand equal treatment of genders in the work environment are criticized for lack of effectiveness. Although measures combating gender inequality have been improving female managers' situation, a balanced share of women and men in management and equal pay can only be achieved if the perception of societies with regard to gender roles and stereotypes conduct a structural change towards an egalitarian gender role concept.}, language = {en} } @masterthesis{MitchelldeMoraisPereira, type = {Bachelor Thesis}, author = {Mitchell de Morais Pereira, Amanda}, title = {NATION BRANDING THROUGH CULTURE EXPORT SYSTEM MODEL. South Korea was used as the base for the modeling, considering its observed success in integrated strategies to promote the countries' image through culture. The Nation Branding model proposed, has culture as its main driver, focusing on content creation and culture-related collaborations as the main tactic to disseminate culture and information, seeking to leave positive impressions on the foreign public, increasing the country-affinity factor in decision-making. The model's main characteristic is task-focused structuring and flexible boundaries. Defined boundaries and action limitations would preclude collabotrations and similar efforts by different actors. Overlapping efforts in this model are not a waste of energy, as all actors use the same tool: culture; the more positive value each actor can produce regarding culture will be added as a resource to the other actors. Since the pandemic has forced companies to reach out to their customers through digital platforms, the marketing strategies had to be adapted. A mixed method approach is used in this thesis, combining primary sources and data from a empirical study from an online survey, to answer the research question and test four hypothesis that are related to the impact of marketing automation on the customer behavior. The study found out that while there was an increase in personalized advertisements on social media, it is unclear how much customers were influenced. However, the thesis shows that marketing automation can be an effective to for improving the relationship between customers and companies. Furthermore, social media has become very importance for the customers' purchasing decisions.
