Im Projekt kooperierten Unternehmen beider L{\"a}nder mit Innovationsexpertinnen und -experten innerhalb verschiedener Technologiecluster unter der Zielvorgabe, neue und neuartige Technologien gemeinsam zu entwickeln und ihre Handhabung zu erlernen. (Mehr Informationen zum Projekt finden Sie unter: https://www.foodprotects.eu/ ) Im Rahmen des Projekts wurden Unternehmen w{\"a}hrend des Innovationsprozesses untersucht. Dabei fiel auf, dass an Innovationen arbeitende Unternehmen h{\"a}ufig nicht wissen, welche Ansprechpartner Ihnen im Rahmen dieser Prozesse zur Verf{\"u}gung stehen. Ein Grund daf{\"u}r ist, dass Unternehmen oft nicht entsprechende Mittel zur Verf{\"u}gung haben, sich intensiv mit einer Suche nach Ansprechpersonen zu besch{\"a}ftigen. Ein weiterer Grund ist, dass das Angebot im Internet oft un{\"u}bersichtlich ist und die Suche nach geeigneten Experten viel Zeit kostet. Erste Anlaufstelle vieler Unternehmen auf der Suche nach Unterst{\"u}tzung ist das Internet. Doch es ist nicht so einfach, schnell die gesuchten Informationen zu finden -zu groß ist bereits die Anzahl der gezeigten Ergebnisse um herausfiltern zu k{\"o}nnen, welche Unterst{\"u}tzungsinstrumente noch aktuell sind. Um Unternehmen diesen Suchprozess zu erleichtern, wurde diese Untersuchung durchgef{\"u}hrt und Webseiten entsprechend ihrer Angebote analysiert.}, language = {de} } @inproceedings{vanBruggenBockmuehlBruckmannetal., author = {van Bruggen, Jannike and Bockm{\"u}hl, Dirk and Bruckmann, Dirk and Gebauer, Jens and Reiser, Dirk and Wichern, Florian and Darr, Dietrich}, title = {SUFACHAIN - Sustainable Agroforestry Value Chains in Central Asia}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:hbz:1383-opus4-17660}, abstract = {The agricultural sector represents an important means of livelihood for the rural population in Central Asia, while the region's agricultural and forest landscapes are at risk of degradation due to population growth and economic development. The SUFACHAIN project aims to analyse agroforestry systems and integrate them into local land use systems, while developing products and technologies that contribute to the sustainable use of resources and create local value. In close collaboration with local partners, the project will (1) analyse and design sustainable agroforestry systems, (2) improve quality in the foods made from agroforestry products, (3) develop efficient technologies for the re-use of waste materials from the processing chain, (4) improve transparency along the supply chain, (5) increase local value by valorising selected ecosystem services and (6) develop attractive market niches for agroforestry products.}, language = {en} } @techreport{HansohmJansenMandalaetal., author = {Hansohm, Nele and Jansen, Lennart and Mandala, Kennedy and Kandiado, Peter and Meinhold, Kathrin and Darr, Dietrich and Wichern, Florian and Gebauer, Jens}, title = {Instruction Manual of Baobab Cultivation - Based on Experiences in Mangochi, Malawi}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:hbz:1383-opus4-5859}, pages = {21}, abstract = {Based on experiences in Mangochi, Malawi an instruction manual on how to best cultivate baobab seedlings has been developed. This study characterizes and develops a typology of informal microenterprises in the Malawian baobab processing sector; and assesses factors influencing their entry into the informal sector. Drawing on the analysis of firm-level data from 305 informal baobab pro- cessors, cost and complexity of registration, smallness (scale) of the business, and necessity-driven motivations were identified as key factors influencing informality. Coupling principal component and cluster analyses, three typologies of informal microenterprises were identified and characterized namely; high performance-survival phase enterprises (type 1), moderate performance-survival phase enterprises (type 2), and low performance-start-up phase enterprises (type 3). Annual net profit (earnings), firm age, and the extent of adoption of formal systems and controls explained the inherent segmentation. The segmentation suggests a dualism compromising of an upper- and lower-tier enterprises characterized by strong involuntary entry into the informal forest sector. For policy implications, we argue that the upper-tier enterprises (types 1 and 2) be targeted with business development programmes to promote their growth while, the lower-tier (type 3) targeted with skills development and social support.}, language = {en} }
