The main goal is to develop standardised samples for SPECTRO OES devices that can be utilised during routine analysis in automatic processes. The selection criteria include machinability, signal performance, and homogeneity. To achieve these goals, a set of practical tests were carried out. The initial research involves using the existing SPECTRO sample library to identify suitable alloys for standardised production in large batches. In the end, a database is suggested with existing alloys as possible candidates for future production. The chosen alloy must generate signals within specified wavelength ranges and exhibit machinability for post-analysis processing. The thesis introduces a unique approach to assessing machinability using chip analysis, emphasising the role of chip characteristics in understanding the material's suitability for machining. The study found that the E/3 sample, especially among samples with zirconium, demonstrated exceptional machinability. Moreover, the research delves into the importance of power consumption measurements during milling as an informative parameter for machining requirements. The study examines the chemical composition necessary to produce consistent and robust signals across the spectrum, with a particular focus on elements like zirconium, nickel, iron, copper, titanium, and manganese, but also phase diagrams to understand the homogeneity of aluminium alloying elements. Sample 518X905 is highlighted for its role in enhancing emission lines. In conclusion, the thesis proposes an alloy composition that blends aluminium with various alloying elements to meet specific research requirements. Copper, iron, zinc, silicon, nickel, zirconium, chromium, and vanadium provide flexibility for crafting tailored samples. Existing primary alloying elements, including those with copper, zinc, and silicon, can be considered. Through analysis of data, this work finds a notable reduction in the number of farms and cultivated areas for both strawberries and asparagus, alongside fluctuations in yield and production volumes. The results suggest that while mechanization offers some relief from rising labor costs, its adoption is limited by high initial investment requirements, technical complexity, and the need for crop-specific solutions. This study aimed to develop a robust machine learning model for classifying schizophrenia patients using neurophysiological markers derived from Electroencephalography (EEG) data. The work explored multiple machine-learning architectures, including traditional Support Vector Machines (SVM) and deep learning models such as Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and CNN-LSTM hybrids. EEG data was collected from schizophrenia patients and healthy controls, with preprocessing conducted using the Brain Imaging Data Structure (BIDS) framework to ensure consistency and standardization. Given the varying quality and structure of the EEG recordings—such as missing channels and differing recording lengths—the study employed several preprocessing techniques, including channel interpolation, zero-padding, and limiting data to the first three minutes of resting-state recordings for standardization. Data imbalance was addressed through the application of the Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE) to ensure balanced representation of both schizophrenia and control groups during model training. The findings showed that the SVM model reached an accuracy of 88.8\% in patient classification, whereas the LSTM model, after addressing data imbalances through SMOTE, achieved an improved classification accuracy of 99.3\%. However, challenges arose when attempting to predict schizophrenia severity levels using MMN task data and a CNN-LSTM hybrid model. Despite efforts to standardize the number of epochs across subjects, the model achieved a more modest accuracy of 66.7\%. This lower accuracy was largely attributed to the limited and unbalanced dataset, as some subjects had fewer than the target number of epochs. Further challenges included BIDS conversion issues due to discrepancies in file naming conventions between .sdt and .set files, which required considerable time to resolve. The successful creation of a tailored BIDS conversion script ensured the data could be standardized and used effectively for analysis. In conclusion, while the classification models achieved high accuracy, particularly the LSTM-based approach, predicting schizophrenia severity levels remains a challenge due to the limitations of the available dataset. Future research will focus on gathering larger and more balanced datasets, refining preprocessing methods, and optimizing model architectures to improve prediction accuracy. In einer zunehmend belastenden Arbeitswelt sind individuelle Ressourcen entscheidend f{\"u}r die Gesundheit und das Stresserleben des Gesundheitsfachpersonals. In der vorlie-genden Arbeit soll untersucht werden, inwieweit die Faktoren „gesundheitsbezogenes Verhalten" und „Stresserleben" durch das Level der Gesundheitskompetenz in Gesundheitsfachberufen beeinflusst wird. Da das berufliche Belastungsspektrum von Physiotherapeut:innen und Pflegekr{\"a}ften teilweise vergleichbar ist, wird in dieser Masterarbeit im Sinne einer quasi-explorativen Querschnittsstudie ein Vergleich zwischen diesen Gesundheitsfachberufen gezogen. Ergebnisse: Im Rahmen der Fragebogenerhebung konnte eine Stichprobengr{\"o}ße von n = 124 erzielt werden, welche sich in 62,1 \% Physiotherapeut:innen und 37,9 \% Pflegekr{\"a}fte teilt. Es zeigt sich eine durchschnittlich problematische Gesundheitskompetenz der Stichprobe und dichotomisiert weisen 68,6 \% der Befragten eine geringe Gesundheitskompetenz auf, wobei mehr Pflegekr{\"a}fte eine hohe Gesundheitskompetenz aufweisen als die Physiothera-peut:innen. Although there is evidence that bacteria spread from drains to the outside, there is still a lack of research data focusing on drain biofilms from hospitals. We sampled biofilms from various wards of Helios Hospital Krefeld (Germany), where comprehensive antibiotic consumption data were available. Biofilms were analysed by cell counting, isolation of relevant bacterial groups and genetic and phenotypical resistance parameters. Data were correlated with the prescribed antibiotics of the respective ward. Furthermore, an ex-situ biofilm model was employed to investigate the influence of sub-inhibitory antibiotics on the bacterial community and the prevalence of class 1 integrons. Our results show, that every ward harboured medically relevant bacterial species. While no significant differences were found in cell counts, the median prevalence of the resistance marker gene intI1 correlated with the amount of prescribed antibiotics. In contrast, phenotypical resistances showed no similar tendency. In addition, melting curve analysis data and changes in intI1 prevalence show that the composition of the bacterial community shifted depending on the biofilm and antibiotic. Based on our results we conclude, that sub-inhibitory concentrations of antibiotics have no general effect on biofilms in terms of bacterial community shift and occurrence of antibiotic resistant species. However, there is a significant challenge in chicken processing which involves the occurrence of wing breakage that impacts both the aesthetic quality of the product and raises concerns regarding animal welfare and economic sustainability. This thesis aims to investigate the underlying biological factors associated with wing damage during processing by comparing wing structures of broilers raised under different management systems. This investigation focuses on exploring the chicken wing breakage contributing factors and cultivating a better understanding of this challenge to aid the chicken processing industry. This objective will be achieved by a comparative analysis of internal wing structures with a focus on distal humeral growth plate development observed in chicken wings from broilers raised under different production systems. The packaging and selling of damaged chicken wings for human consumption is prohibited by the European Union due to the potential health risks and aesthetic reasons. Hence, the disposal of chicken carcasses with wing damage results in financial losses for the company. An internal comparative analysis of the chicken wings aided by dissection techniques as well as X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometry analysis of elements present at the bone growth plates will be carried out with an intention of quantifying the structural variations in broiler wings from different management systems. By elucidating the internal features and compositions of the different chicken wings with comparison to relevant literature and recent related discoveries, this research seeks to identify biological factors potentially responsible for wing damage among different broilers, allowing further intervention strategies within the industry. The findings from this study have implications for both industry practices and animal welfare standards. By discovering potential biological root causes of wing damage, this research provides valuable insights for optimizing processing protocols and equipment design to minimize trauma to birds and enhance product quality. In addition, a deeper understanding of physiological responses of chicken to processing stress can encourage more humane and efficient poultry handling practices and management strategies to reduce losses from wastage as well as chicken welfare improvement in commercial broiler production. The overall contribution of this thesis is towards the advancement of knowledge in poultry production and the importance of considering the biological factors and internal structures of chicken wings in designing processing systems. Through collaborative efforts between researchers, stakeholders and other parties involved, the insights gained from this study will aid sustainable practices that prioritize animal welfare, product quality assurance and economic sustainability in the poultry industry.}, language = {en} }
