The inclusion of peak performance athletes with hearing disabilities in competitive sports needs official of mainstream sports to possess positive attitudes towards people with disabilities. Further, they need to have sufficient knowledge about deaflympic sports (syn.: deaf sports) as well as the special needs and features of these athletes. This exploratory study analyses the knowledge base of officials of German Olympic Sports Association (DOSB) addressing the mentioned aspects. In summary, the official have fragmentary knowledge and positive attitudes about inclusion. (Autor)
