Participating methods from six teams are evaluated using a standardized FL setup and a multi-institutional dataset derived from the BraTS glioma benchmark—a dataset consisting of 1,251 training cases, 219 validation cases, and 570 hidden test cases, with segmentations of enhancing tumor (ET), tumor core (TC), and whole tumor (WT). Teams are ranked by a cumulative scoring system accounting for segmentation performance—measured by Dice Similarity Coefficient (DSC) and 95th percentile Hausdorff Distance (HD95)—and communication efficiency assessed through the convergence score. A PID-controller-based approach emerges as the top-performing method, achieving a mean DSC of 0.733, 0.761, and 0.751 for ET, TC, and WT, respectively, with corresponding HD95 values of 33.922mm, 33.623mm, and 32.309mm, while also being the most efficient with a convergence score of 0.764. These results contribute to ongoing advances in FL, building on top-performers from previous challenge iterations and surpassing them, highlighting PID controllers as powerful mechanisms for stabilizing and optimizing weight aggregation in FL. This mixed-methods study investigated the influence of exoskeletons on the physical strain and acceptance of nurses. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of a passive, back-supporting exoskeleton on muscle activity, posture and subjective perception of exertion during a simulated transfer of patients. For this purpose, a quantitative analysis was conducted with 33 nurses wearing an exoskeleton in three different forms of support. There were no significant differences in muscle activity, but there were significant results in the reduction of the subjective feeling of strain when wearing the exoskeleton and less hip flexion when wearing the exoskeleton. A qualitative study supplemented the investigation by identifying the acceptance factors and implementation hurdles. In particular, wearing comfort and the compatibility of the exoskeleton with specific care tasks are crucial. Further research is needed to better understand the long-term effects on musculoskeletal health and the optimal implementation of this technology in care facilities. In this paper, we propose the first output-sensitive algorithm for evaluating acyclic CRPQs. It is output-sensitive in the sense that its complexity is a function of the sizes of the input graph and of the query output. In particular, it does not depend on the output sizes of the regular expressions that appear in the query, as these sizes can be much larger than the query output size. Our algorithm proceeds in two stages. In the first stage, it contracts the given query into a free-connex acyclic one such that the output of the original query can be obtained from the output of the contracted one. This contraction removes bound variables by composing regular expressions or by promoting bound variables to free ones. The minimum necessary number of promoted bound variables gives the contraction width, which is a novel parameter specific to CRPQs. In the second stage, our algorithm evaluates the free-connex acyclic CRPQ and projects away the columns of the promoted bound variables. It ensures output-sensitivity by computing the calibrated outputs of the regular expressions appearing in the free-connex acyclic CRPQ in time proportional to their sizes. Our algorithm has lower complexity than the state-of-the-art approaches for problem instances where (i) the query output is asymptotically smaller than the worst-case output size or (ii) the largest output size of any of the regular expression in the query. In contrast to prior algorithmic work that focuses on Select-Project-Join-Union queries, ours is the first practical approach for queries with aggregates. It relies on two novel optimizations that are essential for its practicality and significantly improve the runtime performance already for queries without aggregates. The first optimization exploits the observation that many input tuples have the same contribution to the query result, so it is enough to compute the contribution of one of them. The second optimization uses the gradient of the query lineage to compute the contributions of all tuples with the same complexity as for one of them. Experiments with a million instances over 3 databases show that our approach achieves up to 3 orders of magnitude runtime improvements over the state-of-the-art for queries without aggregates, and that it is practical for aggregate queries. A key requirement is the maintenance of a continuous connection between such vehicles and a remote technical supervisor. If this link is lost, the vehicle must transition into a safe state by bringing itself to a controlled stop. To mitigate the risk of connection loss, accurate forecasting of mobile network availability along routes is essential. This paper describes a spatio-temporal analysis of mobile network signal quality metrics along a fixed rural route based on 48 repeated measurement drives. The route was segmented into 320 spatial reference sections to enable consistent cross-trip comparison and stability assessment. A classification into usable and non-usable connectivity states reveals that more than half of the sections show pronounced trip-to-trip variability. The results show that mobile network quality is not only dependent on geographic location but is also influenced by environmental conditions. While global correlations between weather parameters and raw signal metrics remain weak, moderate relationships can be seen when analyzing the share of functionally usable connectivity in spatially unstable sections. A walk-forward forecasting model demonstrates that the inclusion of temperature in the model reduces prediction error compared to a purely historical baseline in 73.7% of evaluated trips. The findings show the importance of feature selection and also the limitations of linear modeling approaches. Rather than acting as deterministic predictors of signal strength, contextual parameters primarily modulate connectivity uncertainty in spatially unstable regions. These findings underscore the importance of contextual information and localized modeling to predict network availability for safety-critical systems, such as autonomous vehicles. Fachtagung Baustatik – Baupraxis 16 : 28.-29. This paper aims to identify and categorize the Critical Success Factors (CSFs) that influence successful AI adoption by synthesizing academic and practitioner knowledge from a top-management perspective. We conducted a multivocal literature review of 57 academic and 20 practitioner sources, screened per PRISMA. From vote-count synthesis we identified 16 CSFs grouped via the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework, with organizational factors dominating such as leadership support, AI literacy, and cultural readiness. Practitioner evidence corroborates most academic CSFs and adds implementation-centric aspects (e.g., AI scalability, use-case–value alignment, partnerships). Implications for top management/Chief Information Officers include prioritizing data governance, change capability, and portfolio-level value realization. From a theoretical perspective, the paper supports continued relevance of the TOE framework for AI while highlighting the amplified importance of its organizational dimension.
