Alle wichtigen Patentämter weltweit sind mit einer regelrechten "Explosion von Patentanmeldungen" konfrontiert (Harhoff et al., 2007). Die Rolle von geistigem Eigentum - englisch: Intellectual Property (IP) - vor allem von Patentmanagement hat sich von einem rein rechtlichen Konstrukt, hin zu einem Bereich von strategischer Bedeutung entwickelt. Obwohl Fragestellungen in Hinblick auf strategisches Patentmanagement zuletzt Gegenstand zunehmender Forschung und Praxis geworden sind, mangelt es bislang an dedizierter Forschung zu IP Outsourcing und deren Einfluss auf das Management von Patenten. Aus diesem Grunde, untersucht meine Dissertation empirisch folgende wichtige Fragestellungen: Wie Firmen Outsourcingstrategien definieren, welche Typen von IP Intermediären im Umfeld von IP existieren und wie diese IP Intermediäre die IP Strategien von Unternehmen beeinflussen. Meine Dissertation besteht aus einem Einleitungskapitel und drei individuellen Forschungsartikeln. Das Einleitungskapitel erläutert die Motivation der Arbeit und gibt einen Überblick über den aktuellen Stand der Forschung. Desweiteren untersuchen die nachfolgenden drei Artikel spezifische Forschungsfragen zum Thema IP Outsourcing und dem Management von IP unter Zusammenarbeit mit IP Intermediären. Der erste Artikel betrachtet das Phänomen IP Outsourcing näher und analysiert Unternehmensstrategien in Bezug auf IP Outsourcing. Der zweite Artikel fokussiert sich auf IP Intermediäre, indem unterschiedliche IP Dienstleister vorgestellt werden und sowohl Motive, als auch Determinanten für die Auswahl von IP Dienstleister untersucht werden. Der letzte Artikel befasst sich mit der Frage, wie externe Patentanwälte und deren Erfahrung auf die Patentanmeldestrategie von Unternehmen Einfluss nehmen. Double-layer capacitors are electrochemical storage devices that are able to respond to immediate load changes within some microseconds. Based on more than ten years testing experience of our work group, the aging behaviour of supercapacitors is quantified in terms of capacitance loss, parasitic side reactions, and the chemical analysis of decomposition products. So far, the electrochemical processes during self-discharge have been widely unknown. By the help of impedance spectroscopy, we investigated this item in more detail. These properties are important for many technological processes. The present paper describes a fully automated instrument based on the oscillating bubble technique. It works in the frequency range from 1 Hz to 500 Hz, where surfactant exchange dynamics governs the relaxation process. The originality of instrument design is the consistent combination of modern measurement technologies with advanced imaging and signal processing algorithms. Key steps on the way to reliable and precise measurements are the excitation of harmonic oscillation of the bubble, phase sensitive evaluation of the pressure response, adjustment and maintenance of the bubble shape to half sphere geometry for compensation of thermal drifts, contour tracing of the bubbles video images, removal of noise and artefacts within the image for improving the reliability of the measurement, and, in particular, a complex trigger scheme for the measurement of the oscillation amplitude, which may vary with frequency as a result of resonances. The corresponding automation and programming tasks are described in detail. Various programming strategies, such as the use of MATLAB® software and native C++ code are discussed. An advance in the measurement technique is demonstrated by a fully automated measurement. The instrument has the potential to mature into a standard technique in the fields of colloid and interface chemistry and provides a significant extension of the frequency range to established competing techniques and state-of-the-art devices based on the same measurement principle. Die Feuchte ändert sich mit den Umgebungsbedingungen. Die Feuchteverteilungen und Änderungen über den Jahreszyklus sind derzeit weitgehend unbekannt. Um ein Modell zu entwickeln ist es notwendig anhand zuverlässiger Messdaten einen Überblick über die Feuchteverteilung in Abhängigkeit des Tunnelklimas zu bekommen. Die Messung in verschiedenen Tiefenstufen im Tunnel und in der Klimakammer erfolgt mit spezifischen Sensoren und Datenerfassungseinheiten. Application of theoretical principles is illustrated by a case study of a historic factory built in 1900s. Indeed precipitations in the drainage pipes lead to high maintenance costs. Within a research project the leaching behavior of new and innovative binder compositions was tested in lab tests. One possible change in mix-design is the reduction in clinker content by using a lower amount of Ordinary Portland Cement together with cementitious materials. Successful combinations were further investigated in sprayed mortar and shotcrete tests to examine the influences of the spraying process and the addition of accelerator. The results indicate how shotcrete mix-design can be improved regarding its potential for precipitations and subsequently enhanced durability of shotcrete. However, artifacts in EEG data introduced by the MR scanner still remain a major obstacle. This study, employing commonly used artifact correction steps, shows that head motion, one overlooked major source of artifacts in EEG-fMRI data, can cause plausible EEG effects and EEG–BOLD correlations. Specifically, low-frequency EEG (< 20 Hz) is strongly correlated with in-scanner movement. Accordingly, minor head motion (< 0.2 mm) induces spurious effects in a twofold manner: Small differences in task-correlated motion elicit spurious low-frequency effects, and, as motion concurrently influences fMRI data, EEG–BOLD correlations closely match motion-fMRI correlations. We demonstrate these effects in a memory encoding experiment showing that obtained theta power (~ 3–7 Hz) effects and channel-level theta–BOLD correlations reflect motion in the scanner. These findings highlight an important caveat that needs to be addressed by future EEG-fMRI studies. Current target reliability levels in standards appear to have considerable scatter. Critical review of risk acceptance approaches to societal, economic and environmental risk indicates that an optimal design strategy is mostly dominated by economic aspects while human safety aspects need to be verified only in special cases. Moreover, it enables substantial savings in experimental effort and greater reliability in modeling. We present theoretical details and experimental results from the real-time adaptive optimal input design for parameter estimation. The case study considers separation of three benzoate by reverse phase liquid chromatography. Following a receding horizon scheme, adaptive D-optimal input designs are generated for a precise determination of competitive adsorption isotherm parameters. Moreover, numerical techniques for the regularization of arising ill-posed problems, e.g. due to scarce measurements, lack of prior information about parameters, low sensitivities and parameter correlations are discussed. The estimated parameter values are successfully validated by Frontal Analysis and the benefits of optimal input designs are highlighted when compared to various standard/heuristic input designs in terms of parameter accuracy and precision. The results of direct sound insulation tests of wall and floor assemblies were reported at EURONOISE 2015 and INTERNOISE 2015. This paper focuses on flanking sound transmission in cold-formed steel-framed constructions. A representative full-scale mock-up specimen was constructed in NRC’s 8-room flanking transmission facility. The specimen consists of four loadbearing walls with 152 mm deep steel studs, four non-loadbearing walls with 92mm deep steel studs, and four floor-ceiling assemblies consisting of steel joists and a composite steel deck with gypsum concrete. Measurements were conducted according to the indirect method described in ISO 10848. The individual flanking paths were measured by a sequence of transmission loss measurements in which other transmission paths were suppressed by shielding. For the bare specimen without linings, the sound transmission for horizontally adjacent rooms with continuous subfloors is dominated by the floor-floor flanking paths. Floor coverings or floor toppings are needed to meet the requirements in the National Building Code of Canada.
