    <title language="eng">Compression Therapy in Acute Deep Venous Thrombosis of the Lower Limb and for the Prevention of Post-Thrombotic Syndrome</title>
    <abstract language="eng">Background: &#13;
After an acute deep venous thrombosis (DVT) of the lower limb, 20% to 63% of patients develop post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS). In this review, we address the efficacy of compression therapy in the treatment of acute DVT of the lower limb, and for the prevention of PTS.&#13;
Methods: &#13;
12 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and one meta-analysis, with a total of 3751 patients, were identified in a structured literature search.&#13;
Results: &#13;
Two RCTs showed that adding compression therapy to drug treatment in the first 9 days of the acute phase of lower limb DVT led to more rapid pain relief (p&lt;0.050) and less swelling (remaining difference in circumference, 1 cm versus 3 cm, p&lt;0.050). As for the prevention of PTS, four RCTs showed a short-term benefit or no benefit of compression therapy. In three further RCTs, medical compression stockings (MCS) brought about a 16% to 27% absolute reduction of the frequency and severity of PTS (47% vs. 20 %, p&lt;0.001; 40% vs. 21% (95% confidence intervals [29.9; 50.1] and [12.7; 29.5], respectively; and 58% vs. 42%, relative risk [RR] 0.73 [0,55; 0.96]). The benefit of MCS was also confirmed in a recent meta-analysis (RR 0.66 [0.44; 0.99], I2 = 88%). Thigh-length MCS were not superior to knee-length MCS for the prevention of PTS (33% vs. 36%, hazard ratio [HR] 0.93 [0.62; 1.41]). Individual, symptomoriented tailoring of the duration of treatment was not inferior to a fixed treatment duration of 24 months (29% vs. 28%; odds ratio [OR] 1.06 [0.78;1.44]).&#13;
Conclusion:&#13;
Compression therapy relieves symptoms in acute DVT and lessens the frequency and severity of PTS. It is therefore recommended as standard treatment.

    <title language="eng">Group rehabilitation for adults with acquired neurological disorders: A systematic review of mono- and interdisciplinary interventions in physical and speech-language therapy</title>
    <abstract language="eng">Background: Group treatments and interdisciplinary collaboration are recommended in evidence-based guidelines for neurorehabilitation, including physical and speech-language therapy. Evidence suggests that activating overlapping neural networks for upper extremity motor control and speechlanguage processing produces synergistic effects during therapy. This systematic&#13;
review aims to overview and appraise the efficacy of group treatments in traditional rehabilitation and telerehabilitation. In addition to summarizing evidence on monodisciplinary approaches in physical and speech-language therapy, it seeks data on integrative approaches involving one or both disciplines to inform further interdisciplinary collaboration.&#13;
Methods: The review was registered with PROSPERO (CRD42021288012) and followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Systematic searches were conducted in PubMed, CINAHL, and the Cochrane Library. Two reviewers independently screened studies, extracted data, and assessed quality using AMSTAR 2, the Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro) scale, or the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Checklist, as appropriate. The evidence was summarized in a systematic narrative synthesis and its certainty rated based on the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) approach.&#13;
Results: A total of 29 studies were included: 16 on speech-language therapy (861 participants) and 13 on physical therapy (1757 participants). No studies addressed interdisciplinary group interventions, and only two evaluated group telerehabilitation. Outcome domains and measures varied across studies and the certainty of evidence was predominantly low. However, moderate-certainty evidence supports that group speech-language therapy improves quality of life,&#13;
communication, and language in stroke survivors, especially when interventions emphasize verbal production in communicative settings with multimodal materials and cueing. In physical therapy, circuit class training may be more effective than other group approaches for enhancing quality of life and mobility. &#13;
Conclusion: Group treatments in neurorehabilitation show some benefits, but further research is needed – especially regarding interdisciplinary approaches and telerehabilitation.

    <title language="eng">Biomechanical characteristics of knee rehabilitation exercises: a new approach for data-based exercise selection</title>
    <abstract language="eng">Purpose:&#13;
The principal objective of our research is to characterize key exercises that represent significant milestones in the rehabilitation process, employing biomechanical parameters to facilitate the distinction between stages of progression.&#13;
Methods:&#13;
&#13;
We conducted an observational cross-sectional study on healthy volunteers (30 years), approved by an ethics committee. Subjects with a history of lower extremity disease were excluded. Movement data was collected, including the following hierarchy of exercise progressions: sit-to-stand-supported (STSS) - sit-to-stand (STS) - squat, stair climbing supported (SCS) - stair climbing (SC) - step-up, single-leg-stance-supported (SLSS) - single-leg-stance (SLS) - single-leg-stance-advanced (SLSA). Motion data was captured using a marker-less system (CapturyLive, v255, TheCaptury, Germany) and used for musculoskeletal simulations in the AnyBody Modeling System (v7.4.4, AnyBodyTechnology, Denmark) with a full-body model. ANOVA or Welch-Test with Bonferroni Post-Hoc was used to describe the anterior-posterior joint reaction force (JRF) normalized for body weight (BW) for each exercise. Positive values indicate an anterior JRF, and negative values a posterior JRF.&#13;
Results:&#13;
We recruited 31 subjects (female: 23/74.2%) with a mean age of 22.81 years (SD:2.18). The analysis showed a significant difference in minimum JRF for STSS, STS, and squat (Welch-Test: F(2,56.421)=71.216, p0.001). Post-hoc analysis revealed that posterior JRF for STSS (mean:-2.63BW, SD:0.53) was lower than for STS (mean:-3.74BW, SD:0.42, p0.001), and STS was lower than squat (mean:-4.02BW, SD:0.35, p=0.043). No significant differences were observed in maximum JRF in the posterior direction (ANOVA: F(2,87)=1.151, p=0.324). For single-leg-stance exercises, the minimum JRF was similar for SLSS (mean:-0.34BW, SD:0.22) and SLS (mean:-0.55BW, SD:0.25, p=0.056), but higher in the posterior direction for SLSA (mean:-0.98BW, SD:0.49, p0.001; Welch-Test: F(2,54.379)=22.536, p0.001). Maximum JRF differences were also significant (ANOVA: F(2,87)=11.546, p0.001), with SLSS (mean:0.01BW, SD:0.22) showing a significant higher anterior JRF compared to SLS (mean:-0.16BW, SD:0.19, p=0.020). In the progression from SCS, SC to step-up, there was a significant difference in minimum JRF (ANOVA: F(2,87)=5.33, p=0.007), but not in maximum JRF (ANOVA: F(2,87)=0.624, p=0.538). SCS (mean:-3.42BW, SD:0.38) and SC (mean:-3.48BW, SD:0.54) showed no difference (p=1.000), but SC was significantly higher than step-up (mean:-3.58BW, SD:0.62, p=0.036).&#13;
&#13;
&#13;
Conclusion(s):&#13;
&#13;
The exercises show differences in the JRF according to stages of progression, which can be taken into account when selecting exercises. Future research should address the group of patients who have undergone knee arthroplasty.&#13;
Implications:&#13;
In the future, it may be feasible to quantify patients' resilience based on sensor data and associate this with the optimal progression of an exercise sequence throughout the rehabilitation process.

    <title language="deu">Künstliche Intelligenz in sozialen Organisationen implementieren</title>

    <title language="eng">Peer-to-peer support in Aphasia: the participants’ perspective on the digital network PeerPAL</title>
Background: Aphasia can affect health-related quality of life (HRQL), identity, and social participation. Peer contact can have a positive impact on all three aspects. However, there are barriers to the available offers (e.g., professional guidance), whereas a digital solution enables autonomous peer contact. Therefore, we developed and evaluated a customized application for autonomous, asynchronous peer contact that encourages social activities and interaction. The qualitative evaluation in this study includes evaluation of the application and psychosocial changes during the intervention. Quantitative data are published elsewhere. Method: We conducted interviews with 11 people with aphasia who had participated in our pre–post mixed-methods study. The interviews were analyzed using thematic analysis guided by a codebook. Results: Responses were categorized into use and evaluation of the application (three themes) and psychosocial changes during the intervention (four themes). Most interviewees reported that they would like to use the application in the future. The benefits of peer contact, digital exchange, and, thereby, social activities were positively highlighted. Moreover, there are indications of improvements in HRQL and a change in identity. Negative aspects included a lack of feedback from other participants, too few peers in the geographical area, and missing features and bugs in the application. Discussion/Conclusions: The application is suitable for establishing peer contact, which can lead to psychosocial improvements. It remains to be analyzed who benefits most from the application and at what phase of aphasia. Time since onset, social environment, and previous peer contact should be considered. In the future, a larger sample should be analyzed.

    <abstract language="deu">In dieser Ausgabe beschäftigen wir uns mit der Frage, was es heißt,&#13;
einen so genannten Migrationshintergrund zu haben. Ist dieser wie ein Schatten, der die Person immer begleitet? Was bedeutet das für die Person? Wie reagiert das Umfeld? Im berufsbegleitenden Studiengang Soziale Arbeit (BABS) an der OTH Regensburg gibt es im neunten Semester eine Lehrveranstaltung mit dem Titel „Gesellschaft und Migration“ und im zehnten&#13;
Semester mit dem Titel „Migrationssensible Soziale Arbeit“. Beide Lehrveranstaltungen haben jeweils einen zeitlichen Umfang von sechs Semesterwochenstunden. Die Studierenden gingen in beiden Veranstaltungen,&#13;
also über zwei Semester, der Frage nach, ob durch Begriffe wie  igrationshintergrund, Migrationsbiografie etc. Fremdheit konstruiert wird. Ist für die Person dieser Teil der Biografie oder der Familiengeschichte überhaupt relevant oder interessant? Und welche Bedeutung hat dieser Aspekt des Lebens für das Umfeld, z.B. der regelmäßige Besuch einer Ausländerbehörde zur Verlängerung des Aufenthaltes, die Kommentierung ihrer Deutschkenntnisse und/oder die Frage, wo sie denn eigentlich herkommen?&#13;

    <title language="eng">The use of psychological skills in deaflympic sport</title>
This study explores the use of psychological skills among Deaflympic athletes and aims to provide initial insights into sport psychology practices in this overlooked population. To this end, the frequency of psychological skills’ usage, usage patterns, and differences between subgroups were examined within this population. The Test of Performance Strategies (TOPS) was administered to 84 German Deaflympic athletes (mean age = 28; 27% female) along with biographical questions (e.g., hearing status). The findings indicate that Deaflympic athletes regularly utilize psychological skills in training and competition, displaying similar usage to that of Olympic athletes. However, only a minority of Deaflympic athletes train their skills with professional consultants. Additionally, relaxation techniques were employed rarely in comparison to the other investigated skills. This study’s findings contribute to the foundation of sport psychology research with Deaflympic athletes and underscore the need for a differentiated approach in tailoring interventions for this population.

    <abstract language="eng">Background: This thesis deals with the potentials and challenges of&#13;
climbing for blind and visually impaired people. Objectives: The extent to which an&#13;
innovative technical assistance system can contribute to supporting this sport in&#13;
climbing gyms is analyzed. Methods: As part of this study, a needs analysis was&#13;
carried out using a mixed methods approach. This comprises an observational study,&#13;
expert interviews and a quantitative survey of the potential target group. Results:&#13;
The studies show that climbing can promote the development of social and physical&#13;
skills. Nevertheless, there are needs and challenges, such as finding the next hold on&#13;
a route. Conclusions: The technical assistance system could provide support by&#13;
addressing these specific challenges and needs of blind and visually impaired people&#13;
when climbing and supporting them with acoustic signals.
