    <title language="eng">Norms, Regulation, Governance: How, by Whom, and by What Means Can the Use of Artificial Intelligence Be Shaped by Society?</title>
    <abstract language="eng">AI regulation, defining norms, and governance regarding AI are not only difficult endeavors due to rapid development of AI technology; the complexity of the issue at stake alone and its social, economic, societal, and political aspects raise far-reaching and interdependent challenges. Given globalized research and development as well as the worldwide use of AI, national regulations are probably doomed to fail; supranational norms, regulation, and governance, in turn, pose the problem of enforceability. Not least for this reason, current regulatory approaches differ greatly in terms of their sophistication and effectiveness, because, among other things, the stakeholders involved have rather different interests as well as exert influence in different ways and varying degrees; simultaneously those stakeholders vie for imposing their view and interpretation regarding the discourse on defining norms, regulation, and governance of AI. The complexity of the situation is also increased because AI can be directly and indirectly regulated, and norms can be directly and indirectly imposed, but there is also regulation of humans and their behavior by AI. This paper aims to illustrate the complexity of the field, introduces types of actors, describes various regulatory approaches, and provides a preliminary assessment of the possibilities of defining norms, regulation, and governance of AI.</abstract>

    <title language="eng">Out of the Loop: Structural Approximation of Optimisation Landscapes and non-Iterative Quantum Optimisation</title>
    <abstract language="eng">The Quantum Approximate Optimisation Algorithm (qaoa) is a widely studied quantum-classical iterative heuristic for combinatorial optimisation. While qaoa targets problems in complexity class NP, the classical optimisation procedure required in every iteration is itself known to be NP-hard. Still, advantage over classical approaches is suspected for certain scenarios, but nature and origin of its computational power are not yet satisfactorily understood. By introducing means of efficiently and accurately approximating the qaoa optimisation landscape from solution space structures, we derive a new algorithmic variant: Instead of performing an iterative quantum-classical computation for each input instance, our non-iterative method is based on a quantum circuit that is instance-independent, but problem-specific. It matches or outperforms unit-depth qaoa for key combinatorial problems, despite reduced computational effort. Our approach is based on proving a long-standing conjecture regarding instance-independent structures in qaoa. By ensuring generality, we link existing empirical observations on qaoa parameter clustering to established approaches in theoretical computer science, and provide a sound foundation for understanding the link between structural properties of solution spaces and quantum optimisation.</abstract>

    <title language="eng">Kvc-Ongoing: Keystroke Verification Challenge</title>
    <abstract language="eng">This article presents the Keystroke Verification Challenge - onGoing (KVC-onGoing), on which researchers can easily benchmark their systems in a common platform using large-scale public databases, the Aalto University Keystroke databases, and a standard experimental protocol. The keystroke data consist of tweet-long sequences of variable transcript text from over 185,000 subjects, acquired through desktop and mobile keyboards simulating real-life conditions. The results on the evaluation set of KVC-onGoing have proved the high discriminative power of keystroke dynamics, reaching values as low as 3.33% of Equal Error Rate (EER) and 11.96% of False Non-Match Rate (FNMR) @1% False Match Rate (FMR) in the desktop scenario, and 3.61% of EER and 17.44% of FNMR @1% at FMR in the mobile scenario, significantly improving previous state-of-the-art results. Concerning demographic fairness, the analyzed scores reflect the subjects’ age and gender to various extents, not negligible in a few cases. The framework runs on CodaLab.</abstract>

    <title language="eng">Optimizing Smart Retail by Experiment Using an Online AI Model Exploration Interface</title>
    <abstract language="eng">Smart retail technologies save grocery store operators a lot of work. At the same time, these technologies produce valuable data for building sustainable and economical inventory management strategies. AI models can be trained for sales forecasting using the data. The forecasts support the provisioning of fresh food over the whole week and help reducing food waste. In this paper, we present a Web portal which we developed to allow grocery store operators experiments with AI models revealing interrelations between observed and anticipated customer behavior. Clickable diagrams facilitate the exploration of data sets combining historical data and synthetically generated data. Pricing and ordering can be adapted accordingly to the simulated forecasts. By means of a case study, we show that our simulations are not only useful for predicting future sales but for other smart retail tasks as well.</abstract>

    <title language="eng">Design and Implementation of a High Performance Domain Name Service on Commodity Hardware</title>
    <abstract language="eng">The internet Domain Name System (DNS) is one of the essential components of the World Wide Web and the whole internet. The core concept is a large distributed and hierarchical database that translates internet domain names into host addresses and other supplemental information. Name servers can serve millions of domains and usually have to answer thousands of requests per second. Because of their vital function for any internet service, domain name servers are regularly target of Denial-of-Service attacks, where millions of queries per second are used to overload the database system. This work describes an approach on how to achieve answer rates in this dimension with a single server built from low-cost commodity hardware.</abstract>

    <title language="eng">Co-Design of Quantum Hardware and Algorithms in Nuclear and High Energy Physics</title>
    <abstract language="eng">Quantum computing (QC) has emerged as a promising technology, and is believed to have the potential to advance nuclear and high energy physics (NHEP) by harnessing quantum mechanical phenomena to accelerate computations. In this paper, we give a brief overview of the current state of quantum computing by highlighting challenges it poses and opportunities it offers to the NHEP community. Noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) computers, while limited by imperfections and small scale, may hold promise for near-term quantum advantages when coupled with co-designed quantum algorithms and special-purpose quantum processing units (QPUs). We explore various applications in NHEP, including quantum simulation, event classification, and realtime experiment control, emphasising the potential of variational quantum circuits and related techniques. To identify current interests of the community, we perform an analysis of recent literature in NHEP related to QC.</abstract>

    <title language="deu">It's Quick to be Square: Fast Quadratisation for Quantum Toolchains</title>
    <abstract language="deu">Many of the envisioned use-cases for quantum computers involve optimisation processes. While there are many algorithmic primitives to perform the required calculations, all eventually lead to quantum gates operating on quantum bits, with an order as determined by the structure of the objective function and the properties of target hardware. When the structure of the problem representation is not aligned with structure and boundary conditions of the executing hardware, various overheads degrading the computation may arise, possibly negating any possible quantum advantage. Therefore, automatic transformations of problem representations play an important role in quantum computing when descriptions (semi-)targeted at humans must be cast into forms that can be executed on quantum computers. Mathematically equivalent formulations are known to result in substantially different non-functional properties depending on hardware, algorithm and detail properties of the problem. Given the current state of noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) hardware, these effects are considerably more pronounced than in classical computing. Likewise, efficiency of the transformation itself is relevant because possible quantum advantage may easily be eradicated by the overhead of transforming between representations. In this paper, we consider a specific class of higher-level representations, i.e. polynomial unconstrained binary optimisation problems, and devise novel automatic transformation mechanisms into widely used quadratic unconstrained binary optimisation problems that substantially improve efficiency and versatility over the state of the art. We also identify what influence factors of lower-level details can be abstracted away in the transformation process, and which details must be made available to higher-level abstractions.</abstract>

    <title language="eng">Robust Interpolation of Arbitrary-Dimensional Moving Regions in Databases</title>
    <abstract language="eng">Moving Objects Databases are designed to store, process and efficiently search for database objects with attributes that can change over time. Examples are moving points, that change position over time, or, as a more complex data type, moving regions that can also change shape. For moving regions to be practically usable, methods for creating those objects have to be provided. The prevailing method for 2-dimensional moving regions is to create an interpolation of two static regions. Since this is a non-trivial task, this is referred to as the "Region Interpolation Problem", which still can not be considered as solved, since several unsolved questions remain. This work strives to give an overview on the Region Interpolation Problem, discuss an extension to 3d and higher dimensions and to present and discuss solutions to address some of the remaining obstacles.</abstract>

    <title language="deu">Auswahl und Anwendung einer geeigneten Software zur standardisierten und automatisierten Berichterstellung im Service am Beispiel der Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen GmbH</title>
    <abstract language="deu">Die Berichterstattung ist ein wichtiger Bestandteil der Aufgaben der MR. Aktuell fehlen zur Erledigung dieser Aufgabe festgelegte Standards, sowie ein Programm, das sich umfangreich für diese Aufgabenstellung eignet. Im Rahmen der vorliegenden Arbeit wird die Prozessstrecke des Prozesses zur Erstellung eines Ölberichts aufgenommen und auf Schwachstellen untersucht. Anschließend erfolgt die Verbesserung der Schwachstellen durch die Einführung einer neuen Software. Dise wird in einem phasenbasierten Prozess,in Anlehnung an das Phasenmodell zur Softwareauswahl nach Gronau, unter Einbezug festgelegter Kriterien sorgfältig ausgewählt. Das Ergebnis dieser Arbeit ist die Verbesserung des betrachteten Prozesses, sowie die Einführung der Software DevExpress und die Erstellung eines ersten Entwurfsberichts welcher als Vorlage für die zukünftigen Berichte dient.</abstract>

    <title language="deu">Integration eines Support-Ticketsystems in die Prozesse des Geschäftsbereichs Informatik + Systeme</title>
    <abstract language="deu">Eine effiziente Bearbeitung von Kundenanliegen und organisierte Hilfe zu einem digitalen Produkt sind für ein modernes Unternehmen wie die F.EE GmbH unabdingbar. Ein zentraler Bestandteil für ein Support-Team beim Bereitstellen dieser Dienstleistungen ist ein SupportTicketsystem mit Optionen zur Automatisierung von Arbeitsabläufen. Der Geschäftsbereich Informatik + Systeme des Unternehmens F.EE GmbH verwendet zurzeit ein Ticketsystem, das aufgrund eines endenden Supportzeitraums ersetzt werden muss. Ohne Supportunterstützung dürften unter anderem Sicherheitslücken auftreten. Von den vielen am Markt verfügbaren Systemen wurde das Open-Source-Ticketsystem ausgewählt. Zur effektiven Nutzung musste es signifikant erweitert werden.</abstract>

    <title language="deu">Konzeptionierung und Implementierung einer standardisierten RPA-Schnittstelle für eine Analytics-On-Demand-Self-Service-Lösung zur Bereitstellung von einkaufsbezogenen Daten in der Krones AG</title>
    <abstract language="deu">Hohe Bearbeitungs- und Antwortzeiten von Tickets, die diverse Aufgaben aus dem Bereich Analytics inkludieren, führten Corporate Procurement (CP) Processes and Systems zur Konzeptionierung und Implementierung einer standardisierten RPA-Schnittstelle, um einen Analytics-On-Demand-Self-Service zur Bereitstellung von einkaufsbezogenen Daten zu realisieren. Dafür wurde zunächst ein Anforderungskatalog erarbeitet, der als Basis für die Konzeptionierung und Implementierung aller zur Prüfung der Funktionsfähigkeit der RPA-Schnittstelle erforderlichen Komponenten diente. Als Proof-of-Concept fungieren die Analytics-Use-Cases der Orderbuchabfrage und Abfrage von Einkaufsinfosätzen mit Konditionen. Die durchgeführte Evaluation bescheinigt aus technischer und prozessualer Sicht den Erfolg des Projekts, wobei im Vordergrund die zukünftig nach Einführung des Analytics-On-Demand-Self Service gewonnen zeitlichen Kapazitäten und verringerten Wartezeiten bei den Mitarbeitenden des Einkaufs der Krones AG stehen.</abstract>

    <abstract language="deu">Das Thema „Implementierung eines Treibers zur Anbindung von Mikrocontroller-basierten Maschinen über OPC-UA an das Konfigurations- und Inbetriebnahme-Tool von SSI Schäfer“ soll zu einem Gerätetreiber für das Konfigurations- und Inbetriebnahme-Tool CPM führen, welcher den Anschluss von neuen Maschinen an ebendieses ermöglicht. Aktuell befinden sich diese noch in Entwicklung, jedoch sollen sie, von den Vorteilen des CPM-Tools profitieren, welches unter anderem den Inbetriebnahmeprozess einfacher und schneller gestalten kann. Ziel ist somit die Anbindung dieser Maschinen durch die Spezifikation einer Schnittstelle und der Implementierung dieser auf Basis der Schnittstellen des CPM-Tools, in welches sich der Gerätetreiber nahtlos einfügen soll.</abstract>

    <title language="eng">Robot Task Assignment In Dynamic Factory Environments</title>
    <abstract language="eng">Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) are being applied more and more frequently in a wide range of use cases. Following the general trend of decentralisation of control structure in the Industry 4.0 paradigm, this paper analyses the application of auction algorithms to solve the robot task assignment problem. We focus on the use of mobile robots in production environments with a high level of uncertainty which places hight demand on the flexibility of the online scheduling architecture. A sequential single-item (SSI) auction algorithm is validated for a real-world use case where multiple mobile robots supply car bodies to manual rework stations in a paint shop application using simulation. The optimization objective of such an algorithm is discussed in regards to the examined use case.</abstract>

    <title language="eng">Multi-Site Aggregate Production Planning With Resilience Consideration</title>
    <abstract language="eng">The recent years have shown a high frequency of disruptions like natural disasters or manmade disruptions, leading, for example, to transport routes or production facilities being unavailable for extended periods. Many manufacturing companies, which nowadays operate in a global production network, are heavily exposed to these disruptions. This results in both significant costs and substantial exceeding of promised deadlines. If it concerns the first company in a supply chain, it causes correspondingly significant delays in promised deadlines for subsequent companies in the supply chain, including a correspondingly significant increase in costs. Both are exemplified in this paper through a case study. This case study demonstrates that through resilience, both implications can be significantly reduced.</abstract>

    <abstract language="deu">Angesichts eines dynamischen industriellen Umfelds müssen produzierende Unternehmen flexibel bleiben und sich kontinuierlich anpassen, um ihre Wettbewerbsfähigkeit zu erhalten. Eine effektive Planung von Restrukturierungen in Produktionssystemen, oft als Umzugsplanung bezeichnet, ist entscheidend, um Verzögerungen zu vermeiden und Stillstandszeiten zu minimieren. Die Identifikation von Umzugsfällen, welche den Umfang umzuziehender Ressourcen wie Maschinen, Anlagen, Ausrüstungen und Arbeitsplätzen beschreiben und die Definition zugehöriger Aufgaben sind essenzielle Schritte der Umzugsplanung. Dieser Beitrag stellt eine Vorgehensweise zur Bestimmung von Umzugsfällen mittels eines Fabrikdatenmodells vor, ergänzt durch eine Visualisierung in Virtual Reality, um Planende bei der Umzugsplanung zu unterstützen.</abstract>
    <abstract language="eng">Given a dynamic industrial environment, manufacturing companies must remain flexible and continuously adapt to maintain their competitiveness. Effective planning of restructuring efforts in production systems, often referred to as reconfiguration planning, is crucial to avoid delays and minimize downtime. Identifying reconfiguration cases, which describe the scope of resources to be relocated, such as machines, equipment, and workstations, and defining the associated tasks are essential steps in reconfiguration planning. This paper presents an approach for determining reconfiguration cases using a factory data model, complemented by visualization in virtual reality, to support planners in the reconfiguration process.</abstract>

    <title language="eng">Aggregate Production Planning under Risk of Disruption</title>
    <abstract language="eng">In recent years, large scale disruptions to global supply chains, like the Covid pandemic, a ship blocking the Suez canal or sanctions against Russia, have caused production to slow down or even to stand still, causing shortages and massive losses for affected businesses. Even if only specific companies were originally affected, shortages and delays rippled along the supply network.&#13;
The established approach to deal with disruptions is to utilize safety stock and capacity to compensate for fluctuations in uncertain quantities like customer demand. This approach is tried and tested for small fluctuations. To address larger disruptions, like the above given, very high safety stock and capacity would be needed, which would lead to unnecessarily high costs.&#13;
Resilience has often been viewed as an expensive capability that drives costs. Recent studies however advocate for the development of lean resilience concepts, creating new capabilities, which enable resilience and can deal with large fluctuations, reimagining resilience from the perspectives of efficiency and value creation.&#13;
This contribution identifies gaps in current research and establishes structural deficits of approaches discussed in the literature regarding supply chains. Firstly, the need for rigorous, quantitative definitions of resilience and relevant disruptions is justified.&#13;
Then, a stochastic model for aggregate production planning that includes capabilities to compensate for such large fluctuations along several dimensions is proposed. Lastly, this model is then applied to a case study pertaining to a realistic supply chain under the risk of large scale disruptions and the results of this approach are evaluated.</abstract>

    <title language="eng">Systematic development of a patient-reported ONCOlogical-ROUTinE-Screening (ONCO-ROUTES) procedure at the University Cancer Center Regensburg</title>
    <abstract language="eng">Purpose&#13;
The evaluation of treatment success and progression in oncology patient-reported outcomes (PROs) is playing an increasingly important role. Meanwhile, PROs are a component of the certification requirements of the German Cancer Society for oncology centers. PROs are used to provide supportive therapy. There is currently no instrument that fully covers the requirements. At the University Hospital Regensburg (UKR), a digital ONCOlogical-ROUTinE-Screening (ONCO-ROUTES) procedure was developed in order to assess the need for supportive therapy in a standardized way and to provide patients with supportive interventions tailored to their needs.&#13;

Methods&#13;
On the basis of current requirements and guidelines, the development of ONCO-ROUTES was supported by experts in focus groups and interviews, and digitalization was carried out in connection with the IT infrastructure.&#13;
 &#13;
Results&#13;
A Needs-based, Quality-of-life (QoL) and Symptoms Screening (NQS2) tool already established in the routine at the UKR was further developed into ONCO-ROUTES, which is made up of the domains therapy phase, nutrition, tobacco use, alcohol use, quality of life, general condition/functional status, physical activity, psychooncology, social services, and further support needs. By linking the digitized questionnaire to the hospital information system, the results are available for immediate use in routine operations and thus for the referral of patients for further supportive therapy.&#13;

Conclusion&#13;
The digital PRO application ONCO-ROUTES is designed to involve patients in monitoring additional supportive needs and thus, improves supportive interdisciplinary treatment.</abstract>

    <title language="eng">iRBSM: A Deep Implicit 3D Breast Shape Model</title>
    <abstract language="eng">We present the first deep implicit 3D shape model of the female breast, building upon and improving the recently proposed Regensburg Breast Shape Model (RBSM). Compared to its PCA-based predecessor, our model employs implicit neural representations; hence, it can be trained on raw 3D breast scans and eliminates the need for computationally demanding non-rigid registration -- a task that is particularly difficult for feature-less breast shapes. The resulting model, dubbed iRBSM, captures detailed surface geometry including fine structures such as nipples and belly buttons, is highly expressive, and outperforms the RBSM on different surface reconstruction tasks. Finally, leveraging the iRBSM, we present a prototype application to 3D reconstruct breast shapes from just a single image. Model and code publicly available at this https URL.</abstract>

    <title language="eng">IS executives and sustainability</title>
    <abstract language="eng">The pressing global sustainability challenges, encapsulated in the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), require profound transformations across multiple levels. It is imperative for the Information Systems (IS) discipline to engage in addressing these challenges. This paper aims to contribute to this imperative through a scoping literature review, examining factors that enable IS executives to drive sustainability outcomes within organizations, utilizing the Input-Mediator-Outcome (IMO) framework. By analyzing 31 articles from important IS journals and conferences between 2008 and 2024, this review identifies key input factors for sustainability outcomes, such as individual IS executive inputs, the role of the Top Management Team (TMT) setting and organizational contexts, as well as external influences. In addition, it explores how team-specific processes can augment sustainability efforts. The paper concludes by proposing future research questions to address underrepresented SDGs, investigate external impact factors more thoroughly, and emphasize the role of individual IS executive inputs. These insights aspire to advance the understanding of IS executives’ potential to influence sustainability in organizational settings.</abstract>

    <title language="eng">Navigating Agile Transformations</title>
    <abstract language="eng">This study investigates how companies overcome challenges in agile transformations. Through interviews with ten experts from German companies across different industries, we identify key drivers, challenges, and success factors. Our findings reveal inefficiency, mimetic isomorphism, and competitive pressure as primary transformation drivers. We categorize challenges and solutions into people, organizational, and process-related factors, emphasizing the central role of human elements. The study presents 14 key success factors, with management involvement, commitment to agility, and strategic staffing emerging as crucial. These insights provide a framework for understanding and implementing agile transformations, offering guidance for organizations. Our results contribute to both theoretical understanding and practical application of agile methodologies in corporate settings.</abstract>
