In previous investigations, experimental validation showed that the well-known first-order Kelvin-Voigt model, described by a spring and damper element, describes good suitability around fixed operation points, but is limited for a wide working range. When aiming to run vehicle dynamics models within a frequency band of excitation up to 8 Hz, these models deliver remarkable deviations from measured tire characteristics. To overcome this limitation, a nonlinear Maxwell spring-damper element was introduced which is qualified to model the dynamic hardening of the elastomer materials of the tire. However, the advantage of a more realistic description of the transient behavior leads to a more complex parametrization process. Therefore, in the proposed article attention is paid to describe the identification process including defined maneuvers to parameterize the tire model, where the accuracy of the parameter strongly depends on the quality of the available input data from measurement. In order to study this important aspect of parameterization, the reference data from simulation of the full physical tire model FTire is applied like a "virtual measurement" of specified testing maneuvers. The procedure of simulation by means of the enhanced first order dynamics model is implemented by the semi-physical tire model TMeasy. We show that the arrangement of the human-robot collaboration (input modalities, boundary conditions) has a significant effect on user experience in real-world environments. F{\"u}r einen st{\"o}rungsfreien Betrieb eines Motors mit Raps{\"o}lkraftstoff sind jedoch Modifikationen an Motorkomponenten und Motorsteuerger{\"a}t notwendig, um eine effiziente Verbrennung im Motor zu erreichen. Ziel des Vorhabens ist die Erarbeitung von Grundlagen zur Auslegung der Motorsteuerung pflanzen{\"o}ltauglicher Offroad-Motoren mit moderner Abgasnachbehandlung mit anschließender entsprechender Abstimmung der Motorapplikation am Pr{\"u}fstand. Grundlegende Untersuchungen der physikalischen Prozessabl{\"a}ufe von R100 bei der Einspritzung werden an einem hydraulischen Druckanstiegsanalysator (HDA) und einer Hochdruck-Hochtemperatur-Kammer (HDHT-Kammer) durchgef{\"u}hrt. Unterschiede im Z{\"u}nd- und Brennverhalten werden in einer Konstantvolumenbrennkammer untersucht. Abschließend werden die Erkenntnisse am Motorenpr{\"u}fstand auf einen DEUTZ-Motor {\"u}bertragen, dessen Einspritzsystem auch bei den grundlegenden Untersuchungen verwendet wurde. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass das Einspritzverhalten von R100 eine h{\"o}here Sensitivit{\"a}t gegen{\"u}ber Kraftstofftemperaturvariationen aufweist als Dieselkraftstoff. Bei niedrigen raftstofftemperaturen sind mit R100 ein l{\"a}ngerer {\"O}ffnungsverzug und eine geringere Einspritzmenge festzustellen. Um diesen Einfluss bei der Einspritzstrategie zu kompensieren, ist die Kenntnis der Kraftstofftemperatur im Injektor notwendig. Eine weitere Herausforderung stellt die Gemischaufbereitung dar, hier f{\"u}hren unter anderem die h{\"o}here Viskosit{\"a}t und h{\"o}here Siedetemperaturen von R100 zu einem schm{\"a}leren Spritzwinkel und verz{\"o}gerter Verdampfung im Vergleich zum Dieselkraftstoff. Eine Erh{\"o}hung des Einspritzdrucks und h{\"o}here Temperaturen und Dr{\"u}cke in der Brennkammer verbessern die Gemischaufbereitung. Bei Bedingungen von mittlerer und hoher Last ist der Z{\"u}ndverzug von R100 k{\"u}rzer und das Verbrennungsverhalten {\"a}hnlich zum Dieselkraftstoff. Eine geringere W{\"a}rmefreisetzung von R100 wird durch den geringeren Heizwert verursacht. Unter Bedingungen von niedriger Last und Motorstart ist ein l{\"a}ngerer Z{\"u}ndverzug von R100 im Vergleich zum Dieselkraftstoff festzustellen. Eine Steigerung des Einspritzdrucks und h{\"o}here Brennkammerdr{\"u}cke und -temperaturen f{\"u}hren bei beiden Kraftstoffen zu k{\"u}rzeren Z{\"u}ndverz{\"u}gen, der Einfluss dieser Parameter ist jedoch f{\"u}r R100 st{\"a}rker als f{\"u}r Dieselkraftstoff. Voreinspritzungen f{\"u}hren bei beiden Kraftstoffen zu einer Verk{\"u}rzung des Z{\"u}ndverzugs der Haupteinspritzung und zu einer geringeren W{\"a}rmefreisetzungsrate. Am Motorpr{\"u}fstand ist bei gleicher Motorapplikation mit R100 eine geringere Leistung als mit Dieselkraftstoff festzustellen. Nach Angleichung der Motorleistung durch Anhebung der Einspritzmenge von R100 sind im Rohabgas Stickstoffoxid (NOX)- und Kohlenstoffmonoxidemissionen auf gleichem Niveau zu Dieselkraftstoff zu beobachten sowie geringere Partikelemissionen. Unter Verwendung eines DoE Vorgehens kann der Partikel-NOX - trade-off von R100 optimiert und Einstellparameter gefunden werden, in denen sowohl niedrigere NOX als auch niedrigere Partikelemissionen im Vergleich zum Dieselkraftstoff resultieren. Das installierte Abgasnachbehandlungssystem, bestehend aus einem Dieseloxidationskatalysator (DOC), Dieselpartikelfilter (DPF) und selektivem katalytischem Reduktionssystem (SCR), arbeitet f{\"u}r beide Kraftstoffe {\"a}hnlich und es scheint keine Anpassung der Dosierungsstrategie der w{\"a}ssrigen Harnstoffl{\"o}sung notwendig zu sein. Eine Regeneration des Partikelfilters mit R100 war nach Optimierung der Einstellparameter der Drosselklappe m{\"o}glich. Motorkaltstart und Leerlauf sind herausfordernde Betriebsphasen, die f{\"u}r R100 einer weiteren Optimierung bed{\"u}rfen. Eine Temperierung von R100 im Injektor auf 50-60 °C sowie eine Kompensation der Einspritzmenge in Abh{\"a}ngigkeit von der Kraftstofftemperatur sind m{\"o}gliche Verbesserungsmaßnahmen. Zudem kann durch einen fr{\"u}heren Einspritzbeginn von R100 das Verbrennungsverhalten angepasst werden. Die Motorpr{\"u}fstandsuntersuchungen best{\"a}tigen qualitativ die Erkenntnisse die mit dem hydraulischen Druckanstiegsanalysator (HDA), der Hochdruck-Hochtemperatur-Kammer (HDHT-Kammer) und der Konstantvolumenbrennkammer gewonnen wurden. Weitere Untersuchungen sind notwendig, um die Ergebnisse auf einen baugleichen, in einer mobilen Arbeitsmaschine eingebauten Motor zu transferieren, damit Informationen zur Dauerhaltbarkeit unter realen Bedingungen erhalten werden k{\"o}nnen. Weiterf{\"u}hrende Forschungsarbeiten sind im Bereich der Betriebsphasen des Motorkaltstarts und Leerlaufs mit Raps{\"o}lkraftstoff n{\"o}tig, um einen dauerhaft st{\"o}rungsfreien Betrieb in diesen Betriebsphasen zu erreichen. Unlike edges or segmented blobs, lines are not only an accumulation of certain feature pixels but can also be described in an easy and exact mathematical way. Besides a lot of different detection methods, the Hough transform has gained much attention in recent years. With increasing processing power and continuous development, computer vision algorithms get more powerful with respect to speed, robustness and accuracy. But there still arise problems when searching for the best parameters for an algorithm or when characterising and evaluating the results of feature detection tasks. It is often difficult to estimate the accuracy of an algorithm and the influences of the parameter selection. Highly interdependent parameters and preprocessing steps continually lead to only hardly comprehensible results. Therefore, instead of pure trial and error and subjective ratings, a systematic assessment with a hard, numerical evaluation criterion is suggested. The paper at hand deals with the latter ones by using a human-generated ground truth to approach the problem. Thereby, the accuracy of the surveyed Kernel-based Hough transform algorithm was improved by a factor of three. Since the amount of lubricant turns out to be the main influencing factor, the characteristics and appearance of the lubricant distribution has been analyzed in a further step. The analysis has shown that the distribution of the lubricant changes within one coil over the coil width and length. In addition, the time of storage has been identified as one main influencing factor on the homogeneity of the lubricant distribution over the coil width. Based on these findings, a method has been developed to map the series production conditions regarding the friction conditions in the simulation. Hence, simulations were performed using a side frame blank with different friction conditions, to investigate the impact on the forming result. The results reveal that by considering realistically existing tribological conditions, more scrap is to be expected compared to the conventional simulation. This leads to the conclusion that previous simulation results are too optimistic. Consequently, the introduced method offers the potential to optimize the tool design by considering fluctuating tribological conditions already in the process of development. In a second step, important parameters are identified in sensitivity studies and at last, a case study regarding multifidus muscle atrophy after a disc herniation is conducted. The results of the studies indicate that lumbar motion and loading is dependent on lumbar ligament stiffness. Furthermore, subject-specific modelling of the lumbar spine should include at least the vertebral height, disc height and lumbar lordosis. The results of the case study suggest that an overloading of the multifidus muscle could follow disc herniation. This proof-of-concept study evaluated a contact-free method to monitor biomechanical properties without compromising sterility. Forced vibration response analysis was performed on human umbilical vein (HUV) segments mounted in a buffer-filled tubing system. A linear motor and a dynamic signal analyser were used to excite the fluid by white noise (0-200 Hz). Vein responses were read out by laser triangulation and analysed by fast Fourier transformation. Modal analysis was performed by monitoring multiple positions of the vessel surface. As an inverse model of graft stiffening during conditioning, HUV were digested proteolytically, and the course of natural frequencies (NFs) was monitored over 120 min. Human umbilical vein showed up to five modes with NFs in the range of 5-100 Hz. The first natural frequencies of HUV did not alter over time while incubated in buffer (p = 0.555), whereas both collagenase (-35\%, p = 0.0061) and elastase (-45\%, p < 0.001) treatments caused significant decreases of NF within 120 min. Decellularized HUV showed similar results, indicating that changes of the extracellular matrix were responsible for the observed shift in NF. Performing vibration response analysis on vessel grafts is feasible without compromising sterility or integrity of the samples. This technique allows direct measurement of stiffness as an important biomechanical property, obviating the need to monitor surrogate parameters. Moreover, a design analysis based on the experimental results has been carried out, to suggest possible improvements of the system. In der Kontrollgruppe zeigten sich h{\"a}ufig pr{\"a}analytische Fehler (Vernachl{\"a}ssigen des Entl{\"u}ftens der Probennehmer und der Homogenisierung mithilfe des manuellen Schwenkens vor Beginn des Messvorgangs). Bei Analyse von BGA-Proben mit einer zeitlichen Latenz von 10 min nach Abnahme wurden in der Kontrollgruppe signifikant erh{\"o}hte pO2-Werte [Mittelwert (MW) 118,4 mmHg bei Messung unmittelbar nach Abnahme, MW 148,6 mmHg bei Messung mit 10-min-Latenz] und signifikant erniedrigte pCO2-Werte (40,5 vs. 38,3 mmHg) gemessen. In der Testgruppe zeigten sich signifikant erh{\"o}hte pO2-Werte (115,3 vs. 123,7 mmHg); die pCO2-Werte waren hier unver{\"a}ndert. Point of care testing with blood gas analysis (BGA) is an important factor for intensive care medicine. Continuous efforts to optimize workflow, improve safety for the staff and avoid preanalytical mistakes are important and should reflect quality management standards. In a prospective observational study it was investigated whether the implementation of a new system for BGA using labeled syringes and automated processing of the specimens leads to improvements compared to the previously used procedure. In a 4-week test period the time until receiving the final results of the BGA with the standard method used in the clinical routine (control group) was compared to the results in a second 4-week test period using the new labeled syringes and automated processing of the specimens (intervention group). In addition, preanalytical mistakes with both systems were checked during routine daily use. Finally, it was investigated whether a delay of 10 min between taking and analyzing the blood samples alters the results of the BGA. Preanalytical errors were frequently observed in the control group where non-deaerated samples were recorded in 87.3 \% but in the intervention group almost all samples (98.9 \%) were correctly deaerated. Insufficient homogenization due to omission of manual pivoting was seen in 83.2 \% in the control group and in 89.9 \% in the intervention group; however, in the intervention group the samples were homogenized automatically during the further analytical process. Although a survey among the staff revealed a high acceptance of the new system and a subjective improvement of workflow, a measurable gain in time after conversion to the new procedure could not be seen. The mean time needed for a complete analysis process until receiving the final results was 244 s in the intervention group and 201 s in the control group. A 10-min delay between taking and analyzing the blood samples led to a significant and clinically relevant elevation of the values for partial pressure of oxygen (pO(2)) in both groups compared to the results when analyzing the samples immediately (118.4 vs. 148.6 mmHg in the control group and 115.3 vs. 123.7 mmHg in the intervention group). When using standard syringes the partial pressure of carbon dioxide (pCO(2)) was significantly lower (40.5 vs. 38.3 mmHg) whereas no alterations were seen when using the labeled syringes. The implementation of a new BGA system with labeled syringes and automated processing of the specimens was possible without any difficulties under daily clinical routine conditions in this 10-bed intensive care unit (ICU). A gain of time could not be measured but a reduction in preanalytical errors using the labeled syringes with automated processing was found. Highly exothermic reactions related to aluminium oxidation, coupled to hydrogen evolution, have been recorded. The main drawback of hydrogen evolution is the formation of a stagnant layer over the heat exchangers surface, which can limit the ethanol vapour diffusion, thus reducing adsorption condensation rate. Fauerbach kann nachweisen, dass die bis zu 50 t wiegenden Bl{\"o}cke auf Rampen in die erforderliche H{\"o}he gezogen und mit Hebeln versetzt wurden, obwohl zu dieser Zeit auf anderen Baustellen bereits Kr{\"a}ne eingesetzt wurden. Based on our automated analysis, we created an intuitive visualization of all measurements per person. For this purpose, the injection parameters were measured during full engine operation and transferred to the system test bench. By using a special development control unit, it was possible to modify the parameters, quantify their influence on the acoustic behavior and, based on this, define NVH optimized control strategies. The current amount of soot and ash in the filter is calculated by a soot load model in the electronic control unit in combination with a differential pressure sensor determining the pressure drop over the particulate filter. Active regeneration is initiated if the calculated amount of soot or the measured differential pressure is too high. This is associated with additional fuel consumption. An on-board diagnosis for the particulate filter is currently not part of the Euro 6d emission standard. For future exhaust emission standards, on-board diagnosis or active monitoring of the particulate filter is conceivable. One of the benefits of monitoring is the fact that unnecessary active regenerations can be avoided. As a result, there is no additional fuel consumption due to misinterpretations of the amount of soot in the filter. For active monitoring of the particulate filter, a radiofrequency (RF-) sensor, that detects the soot loading of the filter with electromagnetic waves directly, can be used. Such a system has the advantage that by utilizing the filter as a sensor more precise information about the current state of the filter, e.g. a possible damage, can be provided. Worst-case considerations of filter damages, tested at an engine test bench show the advantages which are entailed by a system like that. These methods therefore do not allow a fast online measurements during the dynamic operation. For this reason, a new measuring method was used, which allows for a time-resolved online measurement of the oil emissions. This measurement method is based on the sulfur tracer method, which uses the sulfur that is naturally contained in the engine oil as a tracer. The sulfur concentration in the exhaust gas is determined by using an Ion-Molecule-Reaction mass spectrometer. The determination of the particulate emissions corresponds to the PMP regulation. The studies carried out under steady state and dynamic conditions show a clear correlation between the oil consumption and the number of particulates in the exhaust gas. In the case of the dynamic measurements it could also be shown that time-resolved measurements of the oil consumption are possible with the used measurement setup. In addition, it was shown that the number of particulates does not influence the measurement of the SO2-concentration. Furthermore, the different effects of burned and unburned oil emissions have been evaluated by the dosing of the oil into the exhaust gas. The overall conclusion of the measurements shows a strong influence of the oil emissions on the particulate emissions. Therefore, it is crucial to reduce the oil emissions. To analyze the fungal to bacteria ratio, samples are prepared automatically - in a defined and reproductive procedure - to generate slides for shadowing microscopy. The samples are observed by a camera, which is attached to a transmitted light microscope. The automatic analysis, done with computer vision algorithms, aims to quantify bacterial and fungal biomass in the actual sample view. Moreover, the algorithm can classify organisms according to their color and shape. To get a processable picture, several images from different focal levels must be taken through the sample thickness. Parts of each image, are in focus at the actual layer, are merged to a whole depth of field picture, by focus stacking. This produced picture is used to classify, locate and quantify - in first step filamentous organisms e.g. fungal by image sematic segmentation. The result represents an image sized mask, which indicates the class of fungi with class equivalate values at the pixel positions - covered by the organism. This information is used to calculate the fungal mass per gram soil. To quantify the bacterial biomass two approaches are implemented. For low density of bacterial existence, the individual bacteria is counted for a part of the field of view by an image detection algorithm to be extrapolate afterwards to the mass per gram soil. For high density of bacterial occurrence, specified regions of interest with only bacteria present are chosen. An image classification which has been pretrained by pictures of bacterial density patterns - previously determent by making the sample countable due to preforming sample dilutions, is done. The second option for high density bacterial count is, to automatically preform dilutions until the image detection is confidently countable. For these different load points, the fuel pressure (FUP) and the start of injection (SOI) were varied, to represent the difference in the structure and the ratio conc((10 nm))/conc((23 nm)) of the nanoparticle emissions. The particle characterization includes the particle number (PN), the particle size distribution (PSD), and the particle mass (PM). The particle number was measured with Horiba SPCS (2100). The particle size distribution was analyzed with a Grimm differential mobility analyzer (DMA) in combination with a Faraday cup electrometer (FCE). Micro Soot and Pegasor were used to determine the PM, and an optical characterization was done with a 120-kV Phillips CM12 transmission electron microscope (TEM). The position of all particle measurement systems was downstream the three-way catalyst (TWC). The results of this investigation showed that a higher injection pressure decreases the PN (without consideration of sub-23-nm particles) in general. The ratio conc((10 nm))/conc((23 nm)) was therefore higher, because smaller particles, especially ash particles, were less reduced from the FUP. This means higher FUP tends to a higher ratio. This manuscript presents an algorithm that systematizes this manual process into an efficient search task. We conceptualized the search task as a sequence of sub-problems that are based on the conventional steps taken by process experts when defining control limits. This algorithm can be integrated into an expert tool for shop floor personnel to automate the definition of control limits in annotated time series data. We demonstrate the efficacy of the control limits found by our algorithm by comparing them to those manually defined by process experts in real-world process data from the automotive industry. Furthermore, we show that our algorithm generalizes to traditional time series classification problems and achieves state-of-the-art performance on selected benchmark datasets. To measure tibiofemoral movements, four healthy subjects were placed on a custom-built arthrometer located inside a low dose biplanar X-ray system with an approximately 60 deg knee flexion angle. Anteroposterior and mediolateral translation as well as internal and external rotation loads were subsequently applied to the unconstrained leg, which was placed inside a pneumatic cast boot. Bone contours were segmented in the obtained X-rays, to which subject-specific bone geometries from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans were registered. Afterward, tibiofemoral poses were computed. Measurements of primary and secondary laxity revealed considerable interpersonal differences. The method differs from those available by the ability to accurately track secondary laxity of the unrestricted knee and to apply coupled forces in multiple planes. Tannic Acid (TA), a naturally occurring plant polyphenol, displays unique medicinal abilities as an antioxidant, an antibiotic, and as an anticancer agent. TA has applications in biomaterials acting as a crosslinker in polymer hydrogels improving thermal stability and mechanical properties. We have developed injectable cell seeded collagen beads crosslinked with TA for breast reconstruction and anticancer activity following lumpectomy. This study determined the longevity of the bead implants by establishing a degradation time line and TA release profile in vivo. Beads crosslinked with 0.1\% TA and 1\% TA were compared to observe the differences in TA concentration on degradation and release. We found collagen/TA beads degrade at similar rates in vivo, yet are resistant to complete degradation after 16 weeks. TA is released over time in vivo through diffusion and cellular activity. Changes in mechanical properties in collagen/TA beads before implantation to after 8 weeks in vivo also indicate loss of TA over a longer period of time. Elastic moduli decreased uniformly in both 0.1\% and 1\% TA beads. This study establishes that collagen/TA materials can act as a drug delivery system, rapidly releasing TA within the first week following implantation. However, the beads retain TA long term allowing them to resist degradation and remain in situ acting as a cell scaffold and tissue filler. To describe the obtained kinetic results, a simplified analytical model, based on the linear driving force model, was developed. An empirical mode decomposition (EMD) is used, in a data-driven manner, to generate reference signals that can be incorporated into a constrained version of ICA (cICA), thereby eliminating the inherent ambiguities of ICA. The results of the proposed workflow are then compared to those obtained by a widely used group ICA approach for fMRI analysis. In this study, we demonstrate that intrinsic modes, extracted by EMD, are suitable to serve as references for cICA. This approach yields typical resting-state patterns that are consistent over subjects. By introducing these reference signals into the ICA, our processing pipeline yields comparable activity patterns across subjects in a mathematically transparent manner. It turned out that, the mass of the adsorber heat exchanger increases the useful specific heat stored from 229 kWh/tzeolite for the ideal storage to 538 kWh/tzeolite or even higher depending on the thermal capacity of the adsorber heat exchanger (AdsHX). Contrary to that trend, COP will decrease with increasing the thermal capacity of the AdsHX. Sensible heat losses between charging and discharging phases do have a negative effect on both stored heating capacity and COP. In addition, an innovative hybrid steam power cum adsorption storage process is introduced and analytically investigated at different ambient conditions and time scenarios for on-peak and off-peak durations over the day. The introduced hybrid process seems quite promising in achieving electrical power production and efficiency enhancements during peak load durations. After simple addition reactions with building block chemicals, less hydrophilic glycerol derivatives are obtained, which are compatible with biofuels. Even more, the products of the reactions of glycerol with acetone or butyric acid, referred to as solketal and tributyrin, respectively, lead to promising biofuels in mixtures with rapeseed oil and its biodiesel. Due to their low freezing points, they act as cloud and freezing point depressants, when added to vegetable oil/biodiesel blends. Further, since their viscosity is close to common biodiesel, biofuels containing high amounts of vegetable oil and even more glycerol derivatives than they arise during the biodiesel production can be obtained. Thus, this new class of biofuels enables adaptable compositions depending on the application and also the usage as drop-in fuel without any or just few percent of further additives. The approach starts by considering the building features as well as the reference heating system in terms of solar thermal collectors' technology, ambient heat sinks/source, and space heating distribution systems employed. Furthermore, it is based on a deep climatic analysis of the place where the STES needs to be installed, to identify both winter and summer operating conditions. In particular, the STES energy density is evaluated considering different space heating demands covered by the STES (ranging from 10\% up to 60\%). The obtained results demonstrate that this approach allows for the careful estimation of the achievable STES density, which is varies significantly both with the space heating coverage guaranteed by the STES as well as with the ambient heat source/sink that is employed in the system. This confirms the need for careful preliminary analysis to avoid the overestimation of the STES material volume. The proposed approach was then applied for different climatic conditions (e.g., Germany and Sweden) and the volume of one of the most attractive composite sorbent materials reported in the literature, i.e., multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT)-LiCl, using water as the working fluid, needed for covering the variable space heating demand in a Nearly Zero Energy Building (NZEB) was calculated. The subject parameters included bone condition and bodyweight. Physiologically relevant load cases of a gait cycle were considered. The deviation of mechanical condition of the periprosthetic bone due to implantation was least for the finned shell design. No significant deviation was observed at the bone region adjacent to the spikes and the fins. This study recommends the use of the finned design, particularly for weaker bone conditions. For stronger bones, the combined design may also be recommended for higher stability. The use of HC-UHMWPE liner was found to be better for convensional shell design. However, similar biomechanical response was captured in our FE analysis for both the liner materials in case of other shell designs. Das vom LFW entwickelte Modul zur Visualisierung der Spannsituation kann flexibel in den Fertigungsbetrieben integriert werden.
