The proposed approach supports purchasing managers in assembling mid-term supplier portfolios while making them aware of the trade-offs between the supplier sustainability, the purchasing costs, and the overall supply risk. First, we propose a multi-objective optimization model with three objectives: to maximize the supplier sustainability, to select the supplier portfolio with the lowest purchasing costs, and to minimize the supply risk. Our model extends existing mathematical approaches that follow the portfolio theory fathered by H. Markowitz by integrating the aspect 'risk' into the supplier selection problem. Secondly, since we allow for integer variables in our model — in contrast to the classical Markowitz portfolio theory — we use the ε-constraint method to visualize the efficient surface. The possibility of considering the non-dominated set of supplier portfolios is advantageous for purchasing managers as they gain a picture of the different optimal supplier portfolios and are able to analyze the trade-offs between the different purchasing goals before making a decision. Finally, we illustrate the applicability of the proposed methodology in a real-world supplier selection and order allocation case from the automotive industry. In the example case, we identify 1,754 optimal supplier portfolios that may be assembled based on the eight available suppliers. Our analyses show that each optimal portfolio consists of two suppliers, with one specific supplier being included in each portfolio. The only official international standard for emission calculation of transport operations is the European Norm EN-16258. However, even this norm still allows choosing from several alternative emission allocation schemes. This research aims to harmonize the process of GHG declarations for supply chains by identifying among all allocation units specified by EN-16258 the one that describes a shipment's contribution to GHG emissions best. For this purpose, concepts of the cooperative game theory are used. First, we develop three transport scenarios that allow studying a shipment's effect on GHG: a vehicle routing problem, a network flow model, and a mixed scenario. Our approach extends previous research projects because we take into account that shipment characteristics in terms of origin, destination, weight, and volume consume transport capacities to different degrees, impact the routing of the commercial vehicles and, thus, determine GHG. Second, we present the results of a computational study that bases on the introduced transport scenarios and that compares the allocation vectors resulting from the EN-16258 allocation rules with the Shapley value, which serves as a benchmark for a shipment's contribution to GHG. Furthermore, we show how often the EN-16258 allocation principles are in line with a set of game theoretical fairness criteria. Prior studies that analyzed the impact of IT on supply chain performance report results representing the situation of the "average industry." This research focuses on the automotive industry because of its major importance in many national economies and due to the fact that automotive supply chains do not represent the supply chain of the average industry. Design/methodology/approach A research model is proposed to examine the relationships between IT capabilities, supply chain capabilities, and supplier performance. The model divides IT capabilities into functional and data capabilities, and supply chain capabilities into internal process excellence and information sharing. Data have been collected from 343 automotive first-tier suppliers. Structural equation modeling with partial least squares is used to analyze the data. Findings The results suggest that functional capabilities have the greatest impact on internal process excellence, which in turn enhances supplier performance. However, frequent and adequate information sharing also contributes significantly to supplier performance. Data capabilities enable supply chain capabilities through their positive impact on functional capabilities. Practical implications The findings will help managers to understand the effect of IT implementation on company performance and to decide whether to invest in the expansion of IT capacities. Juli 2018}, abstract = {Introduction Shear induced multimerisation of von-Willebrand-factor (vWF) is supposed to play an important role in coagulation inside extracorporeal membrane oxygenators. However, there is no proof that links observed vWF structures to computed or measured flow conditions. Methods The structures of multimeric vWF fibers, observed in clinically used membrane oxygenators is examined using immunofluorescence microscopy (IFM) using Carstairs' staining method (positive ethics committee vote). The flow around the membrane fibres inside the oxygenator is investigated in terms of shear rate, wall shear velocity and streamlines by using CFD (RANS, Carreau-Yasuda viscosity, geometry remodelled after high-resolution µCT-scans). By interpreting the histological and numerical results in this common context, indications for shear induced coagulation mechanisms can be identified. Results The fibre structures of multimeric vWF build regular but not exactly symmetric formations around the contact face (CF) between the crosswise stacked oxygenator fibres (OF), see fig.1B, vWF marked red. Annular around the CF arranged, cells are likely to be found, see fig.1B, nuclei marked blue. The computed streamlines around the OF show attached flow around the circular fibres. However, the irregular arrangement of real OF produce considerable cross flow between the interconnected neighbouring channels, in contrast to previous 2D-simulations. Thus, the CF are washed around closely by blood, also from neighbouring channels. The wall shear velocity streamlines form regular, slightly asymmetric shapes around the contact faces. The occurring maximum shear rates are in the range of 1,000 1/s. Discussion The shapes of vWF structures found in clinically used oxygenators match the computational results in terms of wall shear velocity and streamlines well. The accumulation of cells close to the CF can also be explained by fluid mechanics, as there are small shear gradients and slow velocities. However, occurring shear rates between OFs are too low to trigger multimerisation of vWF. That raises the question where in the circuit the actual activation of vWF is started and how, at least partly chained, vWF multimeres are attracted towards the OF surface. A next step will be the investigation of the actual shear rate triggered (or mediated) multimerisation of vWF. Towards this end, microfluidic experiments with shear triggered coagulation will be performed. Also of big interest is the computation of the flow situation in the oxygenator in proximity to chaining threads, which have been ignored in computations so far. The relevant geometry of oxygenator fibers (OF) and chaining threads is complex and spans several length scales. In relevant scales and regimes blood shows several significant non-Newtonian effects. Existing models are only capable of accounting for some, but not all relevant effects. Additionally, coagulation processes are influencing fluid properties and geometry significantly. Due to the enormous size of the discretised geometries highly detailed viscosity and coagulation properties of blodd flow in MOs. First step is to find a gemoetry dependent viscosity representation on basis of parametric micro channel experiments with anti-coagulated blood. Next step is a statistic coagulation model, based on micro channel experiments with human (re-calcified citrated) whole blood an evaluation of clinically used osygenators. Since shear rate dependent (i.e. viscosity dependet) coagulation in return influences the viscosity, a combined model with suitable implementation in a RANS framework is necessary. Towards this end, micro channel experiments with new and used single OFs triggering coagulation are performed. Structures of multimeric von Willebrand fibers (vWF), as indicator for shear induced coagulation, are compared to computed and measured flow conditions, using immunofluorescence microscopy, RANS-computations and µPIV, respectively. Preliminary examinations in clinically used MOs show good agreement between occurring structures of vWF, cell depositions and computed flow patterns (geometry form µCT-Scans). However, computed shear rates might be to low to actually trigger activation of vWF. The complex geometry of MOs results in huge meshes, which makes RANS with statistical modelling of viscosity and coagulation a reasonable approach. OBJECTIVE: The aim was to identify vWF structures inside clinically used MOs and employ computational fluid dynamics to verify the corresponding flow conditions. METHODS: Samples from gas exchange membranes (GEM) from MOs were analysed for accumulations of vWF and P-selectin-positive platelets using immunofluorescence techniques. Streamlines and shear rates of the flow around GEMs were computed using a laminar steady Reynolds-Averaged-Navier-Stokes approach. RESULTS: Most samples were colonized with equally distributed leukocytes, integrated in thin cobweb-like vWF-structures. Only 25 \% of the samples showed extended accumulations of vWF. Computed streamlines showed considerable cross flow between interconnected neighbouring channels. Stagnation points were non-symmetric and contact faces were washed around closely. The occurring maximum shear rates ranged from 2,500 to 3,000 1/s. CONCLUSIONS: If pronounced vWF structures are present, shape and extent match the flow computations well. Consequently, the actions on structures will be changing and present design practices will need to be adapted to provide for reliable structures with service lifetimes spanning over decades and centuries. A submitted review of present environmental and climate change information is focused on the distinct, but complementary climatic conditions of Central Europe and South Africa. An outline of the basis of structural design accounting for extreme wind and snow loads is presented and recommendations for future risk-based design procedures are discussed. Issues to consider include: a) use of extreme value models; b) implementation of changes in distribution parameters to obtain extremes with long return periods; c) consideration of the rate of the change. The example of a representative structure illustrates the effects of climatic actions on structural reliability. It appears that uncertainties related to the lack of observations hinder drawing strong conclusions concerning appropriate modifications of design procedures due to environmental and climate change. Uncertainties in the prediction of environmental and climate change have a direct bearing on optimal levels of reliability and the subsequent derivation of design values.}, language = {en} } @incollection{Rudolph, author = {Rudolph, Clarissa}, title = {Politische Steuerung und gesellschaftlicher Wandel: Gleichstellungspolitik in Hessen}, series = {Hessen vorne? : zu den Herausforderungen der Landespolitik in Hessen}, booktitle = {Hessen vorne? : zu den Herausforderungen der Landespolitik in Hessen}, editor = {Eicker-Wolf, Kai and K{\"o}rzell, Stefan}, publisher = {B{\"u}chner}, address = {Marburg}, isbn = {978-3-96317-637-1}, pages = {153 -- 176}, language = {de} } @inproceedings{DeNiklasBradaetal., author = {De, Sangita and Niklas, Michael and Brada, Premek and Mottok, J{\"u}rgen}, title = {Model Transformation of Application Software Component from Classic to Adaptive AUTOSAR: An Approach to Migrate Software Components}, series = {SEAA 2018, the 44th EUROMICRO Conference on Software Engineering and Advanced Applications, August 29 - 31 2018, Prague, Czech Republic}, booktitle = {SEAA 2018, the 44th EUROMICRO Conference on Software Engineering and Advanced Applications, August 29 - 31 2018, Prague, Czech Republic}, isbn = {978-3-902457-50-9}, language = {en} } @article{Knoedler, author = {Kn{\"o}dler, Christoph}, title = {Rechtliche Anmerkungen zur Ber{\"u}cksichtigung von Legasthenie in Pr{\"u}fungen}, series = {ZBS Zeitschrift f{\"u}r Beratung und Studium}, volume = {2018}, journal = {ZBS Zeitschrift f{\"u}r Beratung und Studium}, number = {3+4}, publisher = {UVW Universit{\"a}tsVerlagWebler}, address = {Bielefeld}, pages = {76 -- 80}, abstract = {Acht Prozent der Studierenden in Deutschland weisen eine Behinderung oder chronische Erkrankung auf 1, ca. vier Prozent leiden an einer sog. Entering dynamic functional connectivity by applying sliding window techniques on resting-state fMRI (rs-fMRI) time courses emerged from this topic. We introduce frequency-resolved dynamic functional connectivity (frdFC) by means of multivariate empirical mode decomposition (MEMD) followed up by filter-bank investigations. In general, we find that MEMD is capable of generating time courses to perform frdFC and we discover that the structure of connectivity-states is robust over frequency scales and even becomes more evident with decreasing frequency. This scale-stability varies with the number of extracted clusters when applying k-means. We find a scale-stability drop-off from k = 4 to k = 5 extracted connectivity-states, which is corroborated by null-models, simulations, theoretical considerations, filter-banks, and scale-adjusted windows. Our filter-bank studies show that filter design is more delicate in the rs-fMRI than in the simulated case. Besides offering a baseline for further frdFC research, we suggest and demonstrate the use of scale-stability as a possible quality criterion for connectivity-state and model selection. Nevertheless, research and development is continued in this area. After the network is deployed, software updates are performed very rarely, but during development and testing one typical, high frequented task is to deploy a new firmware to thousands of nodes. In this paper, we consider such a software update for a special, but well-known and frequently used sensor network platform. There exist some interesting research papers about updating sensor nodes, but we have a special focus on the technical update process. In this context, we show the reasons why these existing update processes do not cover our challenges. Our goal is to allow a developer to update thousands of nodes reliably and very fast during development and testing. Fo r this purpose, it is not so important to perform the best update with regard to energy consumption. We do not need a multi hop protocol, because all devices are in range, e.g., in a laboratory. In addition to the particulates resulting from the combustion of the fuel, the oil emissions represent another possible source for particulate emissions. This paper presents a measurement method which can be used to quantify stationary as well as dynamic oil emissions of gasoline engines. Furthermore, the correlation between the oil emissions and the particulate emissions is the focus of the investigations. Conventional methods for the determination of the oil emissions, such as the gravimetric and the volumetric measurement, are unsuitable since they require long engine operation times to provide useful results. These methods therefore do not allow a fast online measurements during the dynamic operation. For this reason, a new measuring method was used, which allows for a time-resolved online measurement of the oil emissions. This measurement method is based on the sulfur tracer method, which uses the sulfur that is naturally contained in the engine oil as a tracer. The sulfur concentration in the exhaust gas is determined by using an Ion-Molecule-Reaction mass spectrometer. The determination of the particulate emissions corresponds to the PMP regulation. The studies carried out under steady state and dynamic conditions show a clear correlation between the oil consumption and the number of particulates in the exhaust gas. In the case of the dynamic measurements it could also be shown that time-resolved measurements of the oil consumption are possible with the used measurement setup. In addition, it was shown that the number of particulates does not influence the measurement of the SO2-concentration. Furthermore, the different effects of burned and unburned oil emissions have been evaluated by the dosing of the oil into the exhaust gas. The overall conclusion of the measurements shows a strong influence of the oil emissions on the particulate emissions. Therefore, it is crucial to reduce the oil emissions. Possible approaches for this reduction can be improved turbocharger sealing concepts, new piston ring designs or more efficient oil separators for the crankcase ventilation system.}, language = {en} } @article{GaertnerRablZink, author = {G{\"a}rtner, Uwe and Rabl, Hans-Peter and Zink, Uwe}, title = {Exhaust Gas Aftertreatment of the Future}, series = {MTZ worldwide}, volume = {79}, journal = {MTZ worldwide}, number = {7-8}, publisher = {Springer}, doi = {10.1007/s38313-018-0060-2}, pages = {70 -- 75}, language = {en} } @article{Schermer, author = {Schermer, Detleff}, title = {L{\"o}sungen im Bereich Statik}, series = {Deutsches Ingenieurblatt}, volume = {25}, journal = {Deutsches Ingenieurblatt}, number = {10}, publisher = {Schiele \& Sch{\"o}n}, address = {Berlin}, pages = {6 -- 7}, language = {de} } @inproceedings{MoellerBertonKlettkeetal., author = {M{\"o}ller, Mark Lukas and Berton, Nicolas and Klettke, Meike and Scherzinger, Stefanie and St{\"o}rl, Uta}, title = {jHound: Large-Scale Profiling of Open JSON Data}, series = {Datenbanksysteme f{\"u}r Business, Technologie und Web (BTW 2019), 18. The measured profiles were discussed in relation to moisture dependent material properties such as chloride diffusion coefficients, moisture diffusion coefficients, and desorption isotherms. Results show that the combination of different cementitious materials, e.g. the cementitious binder, is the key factor affecting chloride penetration depth. Here, hydrogen nuclei are put in oscillation (resonance) by applying a magnetic field and additional irradiation with pulsed electromagnetic waves of certain frequencies. In case all hydrogen nuclei of a sample are exclusively bound in water molecules, the resulting initial amplitude of the detected NMR signal is directly proportional to the water content. The subsequent attenuation of the oscillation is caused by relaxation mechanisms and provides information on the mobility and thus the binding states of the hydrogen nuclei. Therefore even the pore size distribution can be determined in completely water-saturated samples. However, there is a gap between the controlled and detailed study of the individual effects between syntax and prosody and the large-scale application of prosody in syntactic parsing with only a shallow analysis of the respective influences. In this paper, we close the gap by investigating the significance of correlations of prosodic realization with specific syntactic functions using linear mixed effects models in a very large corpus of read-out German encyclopedic texts. Using this corpus, we are able to analyze prosodic structuring performed by a diverse set of speakers while they try to optimize factual content delivery. We present a method, grounded in philological analysis and theories on cognitive (dis)fluency, to analyze this 'free verse spectrum' into six classes of poetic styles as well as to differentiate three types of poems with enjambments. We use a model for automatic prosodic analysis of spoken free verse poetry which uses deep hierarchical attention networks to integrate the source text and audio and predict the assigned class. We then analyze and fine-tune the model with a particular focus on enjambments and in two ways: we drill down on classification performance by analyzing whether the model focuses on similar traits of poems as humans would, specifically, whether it internally builds a notion of enjambment. We find that our model is similarly good as humans in finding enjambments; however, when we employ the model for classifying enjambment-dominated poem types, it does not pay particular attention to those lines. Adding enjambment labels to the training only marginally improves performance, indicating that all other lines are similarly informative for the model.}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{BaumannHusseinMeyerSickendiek, author = {Baumann, Timo and Hussein, Hussein and Meyer-Sickendiek, Burkhard}, title = {Analysis of Rhythmic Phrasing: Feature Engineering vs. Representation Learning for Classifying Readout Poetry}, series = {Proceedings of the Second Joint SIGHUM Workshop on Computational Linguistics for Cultural Heritage, Social Sciences, Humanities and Literature (LaTeCH-CLfL-2018), August 25, 2018, Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA}, booktitle = {Proceedings of the Second Joint SIGHUM Workshop on Computational Linguistics for Cultural Heritage, Social Sciences, Humanities and Literature (LaTeCH-CLfL-2018), August 25, 2018, Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA}, publisher = {Association for Computational Linguistics}, address = {Santa Fe, New Mexico}, pages = {44 -- 49}, abstract = {We show how to classify the phrasing of readout poems with the help of machine learning algorithms that use manually engineered features or automatically learn representations. The paper reports first activities towards the development of a digital tool to analyze the accentuation of poetic enjambments in readout poetry. The aim in this contribution is to recognize two forms of enjambment (emphasized and unemphasized) in poems using audio and text data. We use data from lyrikline which is a major online portal for spoken poetry whereas poems are read aloud by the original authors. We identified by hermeneutical means based on literary analysis a total of 69 poems being characteristic for the use of enjambments in modern and postmodern German poetry and train classifiers to differentiate the emphasized/unemphasized ategorization. A remarkable result of our automated analyses (and to our knowledge the first data-driven analysis of this kind) is the identification of a cultural difference in the accentuation of enjambments: statistically speaking, poets from the former GDR tend to emphasize the enjambment, whereas poets from the FRG do not. We use features derived from speech-to-text alignment and statistical parsing information such as pause lengths, number of lines with verbs, and number of lines with punctuation. Determining the likability of a speaker is a difficult task which can be simplified by breaking it down into pairwise preference decisions. Using a corpus of 5440 pairwise preference ratings collected previously through crowd-sourcing, we train classifiers to determine which of two speakers is "better". We find that modeling the speech feature sequences using LSTMs outperforms conventional methods that pre-aggregate feature averages by a large margin, indicating that the prosodic structure should be taken into account when determining speech quality. Whereas "readout poetry" often uses normal words and sentences, the "sound poetry", developed by dadaistic poets like Hugo Ball and Kurt Schwitters or concrete poets like Ernst Jandl, Oskar Pastior, or Bob Cobbing, combines the "microparticles of the human voice" like the segments in Ernst Jandls sound poem "schtzngrmm" ("schtzngrmm / schtzngrmm / tttt / tttt / grrrmmmmm / tttt / sch / tzngrmm"). Within the genre of sound poetry, there are two main forms: The lettristic and the syllabic decomposition. A short anecdote will explain this difference: The dadaist Raoul Hausmann developed the lettristic sound poetry in his early dadaistic poem "fmsbw" from 1918. This is said to have inspired his successor Schwitters, whose famous "Ursonate" [The Sonata in Primal Speech] begins with the words "F{\"u}mms b{\"o} w{\"o} t{\"a}{\"a} z{\"a}{\"a} Uu". With the "Ursonate", Schwitters developed a syllabic variation of the lettristic poems of Hausmann. The paper shows how to train a bidirectional LSTM network in order to differ between these "dadaistic" sound poems and the "normal" read out poems. In a further step, we will also show how to distinguish between the lettristic and the syllabic decomposition. Based on a bidirectional LSTM network that reads encodings of the character sequence in the poem and uses the output of each directional layer, we identify poems of the sound poetry genre and differentiate between its two types of compositions. As the poets of modernism overcame rhyme and meter, they oriented themselves in these two opposing directions, creating a free verse spectrum that calls for new analyses of prosodic forms. We present a method, grounded in philological analysis and current research on cognitive (dis)fluency, for automatically analyzing this spectrum. We define and relate six classes of poetic styles (ranging from parlando to lettristic decomposition) by their gradual differentiation. Based on this discussion, we present a model for automatic prosodic classification of spoken free verse poetry that uses deep hierarchical attention networks to integrate the source text and audio and predict the assigned class. We evaluate our model on a large corpus of German author-read post-modern poetry and find that classes can reliably be differentiated, reaching a weighted f-measure of 0.73, when combining textual and phonetic evidence. The few approaches existing completely lack any knowledge about current developments in both lyric theory and translation theory. 2. They are based on very small datasets. 3. They mostly ignored the neural learning approach that superseded the long-standing dominance of phrase-based approaches within machine translation. 4.
