Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death. The gold standard for their diagnosis and treatment are angiographic procedures, which require specialized equipment. The speed of their continued development is important as better technology enables progress in clinical outcomes. This article proposes a new process model for the innovation and development and shows how to optimize it such that it takes minimal time. The conducted literature research identifies this closed loop process model as being unique in comparison to the well-established models proposed by Brockhoff, Cooper, Crawford, Durfee, Ebert, Eppinger, Hughes, Pleschak, Thom, Ulrich, Vahs and Witt. During a long-term observation of the innovation and development process of angiographic systems 672 data sets on 302 topics were collected over 47 months to validate this process model. The data collected is equivalent to efforts worth 30 man-years. This input was used to calculate key process parameters, analyse key process roles, evaluate the use of problem-solving methods and identify key technologies. We recommend to apply a continuous loop process in the context of innovation and development of medical devices. In the analysed datasets a potential of an up to 20% shorter process time was identified. Our results can be used for an Activity Based Costing Approach or be applied to bring new or upgraded angiography systems faster to market benefitting patient outcome due to improved diagnosis and treatment. According to the best knowledge of the authors no comparable data collection relating to angiography systems has been performed and presented anywhere else yet.
Digital transformation has developed significantly in the 21st century, and special attention has been paid to it in business and society. It is becoming more relevant and presents the private and public sectors with new challenges. Computer and mobile devices, information, and communication technologies are actively used in social, economic, industrial, engineering, and other fields, to create and implement their respective new-generation software applications. New paradigms based on the software industry including the development, and creation of new methods and methodologies or perfecting the existing ones are receiving a lot of attention worldwide, on which artificial intelligence (AI) had a significant impact. Regarding the ongoing digital transformation of organizations and business models companies have been facing the challenge for years of digitalizing the processes in management control. These processes have been undergoing fundamental changes, driven by the rapid development of AI in recent years. In this context, one of the most innovative and significant technological breakthroughs was the development of generative AI. AI tool ChatGPT plays an important role in advancing scientific progress by promoting the use of artificial intelligence, improving user interaction and accelerating innovation in various industries. This paper explores how AI can increase the effectiveness and efficiency of decision-making and management control. Effectiveness is achieved through strategic decisions and efficiency through operational decisions. By integrating AI technologies, organizations can automate repetitive tasks, streamline data processes, and improve financial reporting and forecasting accuracy. AI-based analytics provide managers with deeper insights that enable more informed decisions about resources, processes, products and services. In addition, the paper examines how AI has shifted organizational focus from operational efficiency to strategic priorities. This change has contributed to a more flexible and responsive management control framework that allows organizations to adapt quickly their control system to changing market conditions and maintain a competitive advantage. In addition, one of the most prominent fields today is nanomanufacturing and the optimization of production processes. Through AI-driven optimization, it becomes possible to refine the synthesis and assembly of nanostructures, significantly improving precision and efficiency in production.
Gender equality is necessary for further economic development of a country and societal welfare in conditions of the modern demands and shifts in the labor market of Kazakhstan. The goal of this research is to reveal the significance of gender issues in the sustainable enhancement of the labor market in Kazakhstan and to suggest the possibilities of applying gender equality in management practices. Regression and correlation analysis were conducted to analyze the relationship of indicators of gender equality with the economic data. A strong positive correlation (r = 0.909, p = 0.000265) was found between the ratio of women’s wages to men’s wages and the proportion of women in economic activity groups, indicating that women’s participation in the labor market is associated with an increase in their wages. The results of the study show that there is specific progress in the labor market of Kazakhstan in relation to gender inequality, but structural barriers remain. To achieve sustainable development, comprehensive measures are needed to ensure wage equality, increase the participation of women in high-paying industries, and create a gender balance in leadership positions. Thus, it is clear that the enhancement of gender equality increases labor productivity, expands personnel stock, and enhances the resilience of the economy. Future research in managing the sustainable development of the labor market in Kazakhstan through gender equality can be aimed at studying the long-term impact of gender initiatives on economic growth and social stability and assessing the effectiveness of specific policies and programs.
Methodik der Innovation
(2024)
