To achieve the wide and steep angles required for homogeneous illumination of the license plate, optics are needed to refract and reflect light. In this work, registration plate lamps with different components are designed. After the construction, the concepts are tested for their limits in terms of position and manufacturability. The entire work is carried out at the company CREAT GmbH in Ingolstadt. All developments in the field of registration plate lighting are subject to the UNECE and country-specific regulations, which must be considered in the development of the lights.[1] Some vehicles currently available on the automotive market are measured to classify and compare the different lamp systems. From the average values, the lamps are designed. Adjustments are repeatedly made to the lighting device to achieve the most homogeneous illumination of the registration plate. As soon as the lights meet the legal requirements, the geometric limits of the lighting device are defined in relation to the plate. As there are different polymers to produce optics, these are simulated with their refractive indices and tested for their effects on the light image.}, language = {en} } @techreport{FrommLinkensFoettingeretal.2024, type = {Working Paper}, author = {Fromm, Sabine and Linkens, Francis and F{\"o}ttinger, Loredana and Walter, Ewgenia}, title = {Zuhause alt werden k{\"o}nnen}, publisher = {Technische Hochschule N{\"u}rnberg}, address = {N{\"u}rnberg}, doi = {10.34646/thn/ohmdok-3993}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:bvb:92-opus4-39933}, pages = {65}, year = {2024}, abstract = {Wie lassen sich die Strukturen des sozialen Zusammenhalts in l{\"a}ndlichen R{\"a}umen beschreiben? Students can commit to following their recommended study program structure, and they receive reminders each semester. This easily implementable, low-cost intervention is highly effective: it increases the five-year graduation rate (+15 percentage points) and reduces time to graduation (-0.42 semesters), driven by reduced dropout and an increase in credits obtained per semester. They offer valuable insights into the labor market but can also expose students to negative aspects of the working world, such as gender pay disparities. Our paper provides first evidence of a gender pay gap in mandatory internships, with women earning up to 7\% less per hour than men. Notably, this gap is not due to women choosing higher-quality internships over higher pay. Further analyses show that the internship pay gap is similar in magnitude to the labor market entry wage gap among graduates. We discuss potential mechanisms by which the internship pay gap may contribute to the graduation wage gap and present empirical evidence to support this.}, language = {en} } @techreport{AngerChristophGalkiewiczetal.2024, type = {Working Paper}, author = {Anger, Silke and Christoph, Bernhard and Galkiewicz, Agata and Margaryan, Shushanik and Peter, Frauke and Sandner, Malte and Siedler, Thomas}, title = {A Library in the Palm of Your Hand? Combining administrative and survey data in a difference-in-differences design, we show that a German reform, which lifted these barriers for non-EU immigrants, led to a 15 percent increase in the share of immigrants with a recognized foreign qualification. Consequently, non-EU immigrants' employment and wages in licensed occupations (e.g., doctors) increased respectively by 18.6 and 4 percent, narrowing the gaps with EU immigrants.
