- We consider the magnetization dynamics in the presence of a spin torque as induced by a polarized current. The dynamic response is of significant importance in magnetic multilayers and spintronic applications. Based on the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation we investigate the possibility of Hopf bifurcations at isolated stationary points that give rise to periodic solutions, so-called precessional states.
