Advantages of a KU.opus publication
- Dissemination
An electronic publication is available worldwide at any time and can be used free of charge. Online publication according to the Open Access principle is thus strongly recommended by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft and the German Rectors' Conference. - Traceability
Your publication can be found in a web search. Furthermore, it is documented in the University Library Catalog of the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, in the catalog of the Bibliotheksverbund Bayern, in scientific search engines such as BASE and in national and international data bases. - Archiving and long-term availability
Your electronic publication is saved on the OPUS server of the University Library Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. We will register a permanent Uniform Resource Name (URN) with the German National Library for your text. Your publication will be accessible via this address and can be cited easily.
Furthermore, electronic documents are forwarded to the archive server of the German National Library for long-term archiving. - Fast and cost-efficient
This service ist available to you free of charge. After the metadata has been reviewed, your document will be published online and can be cited from the point in time of publication.
If you plan to publish a printed version simultaneously, please contact your publisher beforehand: When publishing on KU.opus, you only transfer a non-exclusive right of use regarding your publication to the KU (cf. assingment of rights, link: https://www.ub.ku.de/zub/Rechteabtretung_en.pdf).
If you are a researcher at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt and would like to publish the full text of an essay, book or any document, please use the publication server KU.edoc.
