How is the publication process effected?
On the homepage, please select the tab „Publish“.
You will be guided through a work flow for which we would like to ask you to have some information ready beforehand (in particular keywords and a distinctive abstract).
For doctoral theses, the abstract must be submitted in the original language and in German or English in addition. When publishing a habilitation thesis, it is recommended to submit an abstract. First Step:
Please only use characters as listed in the ISO Standard 8859-1 for entries in the KU.opus registration form. Images, tables and formulas cannot be processed by the input fields in the registration form. Please enter special characters, such as the Greek α, encoded in Unicode or replace the character with the word written out in full („alpha“).

- Choose document type
- Upload your document(s)
- Then, select „Next step“.
- In a form, you will be asked to enter various data regarding your publication (so called metadata) which serve the purpose of describing your publication in catalogs and other bibliographic directories.
- Required fields are marked with ★ in superscript and have to be filled in.
- Final check: After collection of all required data, you will be able to review all information provided by you.
In this step, you can correct information regarding your document, if applicable, or save the information directly.
