Universities using traditional teaching methods have an educational problem which ultimately turns into a corporate branding issue. While there are some papers mentioning the powerful impact collaborative activities in higher education can have, there was no study found which measures quantitatively the effect of (co-created) teaching environments on consumer-based brand equity, brand preference and motivation. The objective of this thesis was to analyse how far collaborative teaching environments can contribute to co-creating strong university brands and by that solve educational and managerial issues. Therefore, a 4x3 between-subjects design was selected. The study found out that collaborative course design methods have a greater positive influence on outcome variables than traditional course design methods. Also, the flipped classroom model affects the outcomes variables more positively than conventional teaching methods. Implementing co-creation methods in higher education increases competitiveness of universities. In addition, there is not one best collaborative tactic, but several best tactics exist for different purposes. A strategically intelligent market position within higher education can be created by starting to implement the philosophy of co-creation by first applying a flipped classroom model. After universities master it, they should find ways to reduce the complexity factors of implementing collaborative course design methods and integrate those tactics into their arsenal. The study is so far limited that it only consisted of imagined scenarios and was not a field study. Further, scale reliability was not confirmed for every construct. Also, governmental regulations in higher education can restrict universities' collaborative designing efforts. Future researches should work on the notion of co-creation qualification in HE. So do specific types of students, courses and teachers qualify more for the integration of collaborative tactics than others. Last but not least, it remains unclear how far co-creation in the educational space can affect not only students' life at university, but majorly impact their personal development over a longer time period.
Green consumerism plays a crucial role in tackling environmental issues. This research aims to understand the different factors that determine the green purchase intention of China’s and Germany’s Generation Y by using an extended version of the Theory of Planned Behavior model. The empirical research builds on a questionnaire with a sample size of 330 Chinese and 275 German millennials. The results of the multiple linear regression analysis indicate that environmental concern, subjective norm, and perceived consumer effectiveness are significant predictors of green purchase intention for both millennial groups. Besides, the analysis highlights that subjective norm has the strongest influence on Chinese millennials’ green purchase intention, while environmental concern appears to be the top predictor for German millennials. In contrast, the perceived availability of green products fails to show a significant relationship with green purchase intention for either group. The variables perceived quality of green products for German millennials and trust in eco-labels for Chinese millennials also show no significant relationship with green purchase intention. These cross-group differences can be linked to cultural differences. Therefore, the results of this study contribute to a better understanding of the green purchase behavior of both millennial groups and provide useful insights for policymakers and marketers to improve their strategies.
Necessity or Habit? A post-Keynesian Analysis of Rising Household Debt: The Case of Housing Market

LIBOR has been the most important figure in the financial systems for almost three decades. As a reference interest rate in mid-2020 linked derivatives amounted to more than USD 600 trillion worth of financial contracts. Since the disclosure of the scandal, its cessation is due with last rates published until June 2023. The crucial benchmark regimes will shift to risk-free overnight rates based on transactions.
This work provides a current analysis of the effects of the scandal and the transition process on the financial industry. It includes the incentive factors leading to the scandal and determining decisions in the ongoing process. Participants were tempted to conduct manipulatively. A design-lack in LIBOR submissions, a moral hazard dilemma, remuneration schemes, and imperfect administrative governance are core reasons for the scandal. As a consequence, new regulative requirements such as the IOSCO principles were established. These requirements, analyzed in this work, are to be fulfilled by the new RFR-based benchmark regime. New models based on the former require efforts to establish sufficient benchmarks. In many cases markets’ acceptance is anticipated. Complexity and challenges lie within the transition from one to the other system. This is reflected in the scope and length of the transition process in terms of consultations and publications.
This work provides current insight into the transition selected proposed approaches. Further research could evaluate the particular valuation issues/approaches of the transition and/or the varying proposals concerning a forward-looking approach based on RFRs. Besides, effects on emerging markets and other jurisdictions dependent on the crucial benchmarks provide related fields of research.
This paper investigates the effects of foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows in the catching-up level and global value chain (GVC) integration of new European member states (NMS), considering the manufacturing sector using data of different time spans within the 1990 – 2019 period. After analyzing the differences in FDI inflows in NMS, eight of them are chosen and focused in the study including Poland, Czechia, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria and Romania. Poland and Slovenia are discussed as case studies and evidences of GVC integration. The findings revealed that the inflows of FDI have limited impact and contribution to the improvement of the host economy’s manufacturing industry, economic development and GVC integration. Indeed, FDI mostly relates to product and process upgrading but not functional upgrading. Therefore, the development gap between the NMS and core European economies is not decreased over time. With regards to utilize FDI for economic upgrading, GVC integration, and catching-up, this research stresses the importance of host economies’ absorptive capability and government intervention through industrial policy.
We are living in the age of data, organizations are facing exponential growth in data. This growth
of data if not dealt with in the right approach will do more harm than good to the organization.
One of the most important aspects of data is data quality. Increased data quality ensures better
decision-making, thereby enabling companies to stay competitive in the market. Data quality
directly affects business decision-making, consequently having a direct effect on the KPIs of the
organization. So it is integral for growing organizations to gain an understanding of where they
stand with regards to their data quality to make improvements needed so data quality problems
won’t affect the organization's goals and KPIs. The topic of data quality is a topic that has been
addressed in numerous researches and from different aspects, there are many established and
interesting studies that have been done and resulted in different frameworks that are followed in
our days now and that shows how rich and important this topic is. The thesis aims to gain a more
precise understanding of how data quality can affect the ability of an organization to achieve the
set key performance indicators (KPIs). To do that this study will take a live example which is the
company of Uberall and do a case study on it, the situation of data quality of Uberall was
analyzed through interviews with different employees from different departments. This research
gives an insight into some precise data quality problems that Uberall is currently facing and
needs to address .
The aim of this paper is to understand the current state of financial development in Mexico. First, the paper introduces the Financial Development Index (FDI) which provides an overview of the situation throughout the world, and then the paper analyzes several proxies for each aspect of financial development, namely access, depth, efficiency, and stability.
This thesis proposes a framework for extracting crucial textual information from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission annual 10-K reports using multiple natural language processing techniques. Ongoing progress has been made on retrieving the summary or sentiment from financial text in recent years due to the large volume of data and advanced computing power. However, the combination of different techniques for generating insight from 10-K textual content has not yet been addressed in the literature. Therefore, the main study contribution is designing a framework that integrates text summarization, sentiment analysis, topic modeling, and regression to provide readers with several indicators to help them acknowledge the valuable information in 10-K reports more efficiently and effectively. The framework considers various models but focuses on transformer-based models because the literature review indicates that these models surpass the performance of others on most natural language processing tasks. As a result, the framework successfully condenses the report content by 88% into the most critical sentences with the sentiment and discussed topic. Finally, these extracted features are further used to predict future company growth that, in addition to the traditional quantitative metrics, can be a new reference for investors in making more comprehensive decisions.
Unpaid care policies in the time of right-wing populism: a comparative analysis of Poland and Turkey
(2021)
In recent years, increasing political repressions on women that result with social unrests and street protests in Poland and Turkey arouse interest around the ties between unpaid care workers and the current governments. Rising conservative, right-wing and populist discourses and their effects relating to care work made a further exploration in this field inevitable. Thus, this thesis examines the impacts of current policies on unpaid care workers in social and economic terms. The hypothesis of this study suggests that unpaid care workers in Poland and Turkey are exploited to a greater extent by familialist policies during the right-wing and populist governments. The discourses and policies of the governments are analyzed in the light of previous literature on care work. The paper also applies an assessment developed by Leitner (2003) in order to classify Poland and Turkey together with six European countries according to their ways of providing childcare and elderly care services. The study clearly shows that unpaid care workers have been socially downgraded and not remunerated mainly through familialist policies either explicitly or implicitly under the hegemony of right-wing populist parties in Poland and Turkey.
Digitalization as an attribute of many western countries developed in the 19th century. As a driver of technological change, digitalization has encouraged the developments and production of derived technologies such as internets, computer, smart phone etc. Software applications such as zoom, blue-button etc. are proves that distance is no longer a barrier for communication. Overall, digitalization and technological change are a fundamental foundation for today’s economic growth. There has been rapid increase in new businesses due to creativity and innovation. While this is evident, the present increase in low wage, non-standard work, working poverty and skill shortages are a concern on how digitalization impact employment pattern and social life. The objective of this paper is to provide evidence on the rise of precarious employment and to express the extent at which digitalization impact skill shortages in the German labour market. Structural labour market problems such as skill shortages (continuous demand for high skill individuals) and rise in precarious employment are a major concern that needs to be tackled in the German labour market.
In this study two emerging markets and two developed financial markets are
examined for herd behaviour using a market-wide approach. The emerging market
representatives are Turkey and India whereas the developed market representatives
are Italy and Germany. The model developed by Chang et al. (2000) is used to
detect herd behaviour in the respective markets from January 2008 to September
2020. The four markets of interests are tested for the presence of herding under
different market conditions.
Evidence of market-wide herding is found at the Indian market when examining the
whole sample period. No evidence of market-wide herding for the whole sample
period is detected for Turkey, Italy and Germany. The sample has been separated
into falling and rising market days to detect potential asymmetry of herding
behaviour. Only the Indian market displayed evidence of herding during bullish
market days. Turkey, Italy and Germany showed no evidence of herding neither
during bullish nor bearish market days. Lastly, the sample was split according to
extreme market movements, using the 1% criteria. Evidence suggests that during
extreme market movements the Italian market shows herding patters. However, this
does not apply to Turkey, India and Germany.

Sensordaten abzeichnenden Defekt einzuleiten.
frei konfigurierbare, individuelle Angebote fordern.
Abstract
This thesis focuses on the automatic classification of research methods used in scientific articles in the domain of Information Systems, and studies the effectiveness of a state-of-the-art long-document Transformer technique, Longformer, on the multi-label classification task.
In recent years, the task of automatically extracting knowledge from academic articles has become more and more popular. However, as far as the author knows, due to the limitations of the max input sequence length of Transformer models, there has not yet been a comprehensive study on the classification of research methods using Transformer models, which have made extraordinary achievements in various Natural Language Processing (NLP) fields. Therefore, this thesis establishes an artifact that uses a modified Transformer model, Lomgformer, which can proceed with long-sequence inputs, to discuss its effectiveness and possible limitations. Additionally, this thesis also discusses and evaluates the performance of other benchmark models, such as the traditional Transformer - BERT and RoBERTa, and a non-transfer-learning model based on the architecture of convolutional neural network (CNN), which has been proven to have good performance by previous researchers.
As a result, this thesis proves that the Longformer-based artifact can effectively improve the classification performance for the scientific articles, and surpasses all the other models, not only the traditional Transformer models but also the models presented in the literature from the previous researchers.

Abstract
A competitive design of a supply chain is achieved by considering all the variables that affect the entire system and their interaction in the decision-making process. In developing countries, where the supply chains are usually labour intensive and where institutional and infrastructural conditions for competitive supply chains are still setting, players should give importance to the strategy of joint forces to become stronger in national and international markets.
This research presents a framework for designing agricultural supply chains in developing countries based on simulation software and describing a collaborative model that supports joint investments, information exchange and coordination. The framework is tested using an illustrative case of a developing country agricultural supply chain. This case is analysed throughout the research to demonstrate how the proposed strategy may aid in the attempt to open possibilities for small actors to play in the competitive international marketplace.
The strategy comprises four components derived from the consulted literature and the multi- method simulation tool for supply chain optimisation anyLogistix. First, Greenfield Analysis to find the best location for processing facilities to consolidate and prepare the product for the shipment. Then, Simulation and Comparison experiments to analyse the solutions' behaviour and identify which one is the most suitable and advantageous in this partnership, aiming for the best profit and adequate lead times. Finally, a Sensitivity analysis to evaluate how changes in the main variables affect the selected configuration's performance and make informed decisions knowing the associated variability of the outcomes.

The study of disruptions management and resilience connected to the current COVID-19
outbreak has become an essential field in supply chain management. Post-disruption recovery
analysis amid the pandemic outbreak is relevant for organizations to respond to disruptions and
create new growth opportunities. Therefore, the performance impact of COVID-19 in the
German food retail supply chain is investigated using a hybrid case-study and discrete-event
simulation model implemented in anyLogistix software. Potential improvements and supply
chain actions are provided in response to the identified challenges. Moreover, a framework with
strong recommendations for stabilization and recovery in a post-disruption environment is
created as a guideline for the main supply chain actors in the food retail business.
