This work discusses the grid-level suitability for stationary battery energy storage systems based on lithium ion technology in general, focusing on the integration of such systems in the low-voltage grid-level in Europe. The vast majority of recent research regarding stationary battery storage systems focuses on single-electricity-grid voltage levels, whereas the interaction of different electricity grid-levels has been widely neglected. Challenges in distribution grids mostly originate from the quantity of challenges in low-voltage grids, stationary battery energy storage systems that are operated in low-voltage grids may reduce these challenges. Therefore, this work investigates stationary battery energy storage systems installed in low-voltage grids and their effects on superimposed grid-levels. Simulation results show that grid challenges, addressed by battery storage systems in low-voltage grids, have positive multiplicative impacts on upper grid levels, reducing local grid demand and lowering power peak stress. A proposal is presented for a low-voltage grid battery storage system that can be operated to fulfill the aforementioned functionality and yield the benefits via a multi-purpose or multi-tasking battery storage system.
„ The times they are a changin’ “ – for the last couple of years in HR, we cannot stop chanting Bob Dylan’s verse. After the last major change, that Dave Ulrich has propagated with his idea of HR as a business partner, we are now in the middle of a transformation that seems to be even more substantial: Artificial Intelligence, Digitalization, New Work – the themes to influence HR are shaking our businesses and seem to require urgent responses or propose us to turn our organizations into something more agile and more values-oriented. Yet, what will stay once the dust settles? What are the images, that help us see again the forest for the trees, and what could guide us in this seemingly digitalized time of unrest? Instead of foreseeing the future, the following visualizations might assist to shape it or to react on changes.

Paul de Faget de Casteljau (19.11.1930 - 24.3.2022) has left us an extensive autobiography, written in 1997. In 19 sections, he takes us through his eventful life which he describes with wit and humor. We read about his youth in occupied France and his education at the Ecole Normale Supérieure. He describes in detail various episodes from his time at Citroën, the situation during and after the discovery of his now famous algorithm, the takeover by Peugeot, his ban from working on CAD and his corporate rehabilitation thanks to his advances in polar forms and quaternions. His memoirs end with his departure from Citroën and his first invited talks at academic conferences.
The paper contains the transcribed French original, its English translation and numerous notes and annotations. The handwritten text is available as a digital supplement.
