These knives are therefore exposed to high levels of wear and tear, and will also be ofen changed because of loss of material by bad cutting quality. Thatn is why it is interesting to save costs during manufacturing in spite of a correspondingly long service life. This research records the current manufacturing quality of the mower blades and examines how they behave in comparison. Based on the obtained results, further decisions on the methods, procedures and ways of extending the life of the disc mower blades should be proposed. For the investigations, a test bench based on a wear pot was used. The wear that occurs on the blade is determined using several parameters and compared accordingly. The parameters of the test setup determined as a result of the test can be used for further studies of wear resistance. N2 - Bei der Grünfutterernte in der Landwirtschaft werden häufig Scheibenmähwerke eingesetzt, um einen hohen Durchsatz zu erzielen. Die dabei eingesetzten Messer sind einem hohen Verschleiß ausgesetzt und werden häufig wegen Verschleiß gewechselt, was sich in einer schlechten Schnittqualität widerspiegelt. Daher ist es interessant, bereits im Produktionsprozess Kosten einzusparen, ohne dabei die Lebensdauer der Messer zu beeinträchtigen. Diese Studie erfasst die aktuelle Fertigungsqualität von Mähmessern und untersucht, wie sie sich im Vergleich verhalten. Anhand der Ergebnisse sollen weitere Entscheidungen über Methoden, Verfahren und Wege zur Verlängerung der Lebensdauer von Rotorklingen vorgeschlagen werden. Für die Untersuchungen wurde ein Prüfstand auf der Basis des Verschleißtopfverfahrens verwendet. Der am Messer auftretende Verschleiß wird anhand mehrerer Parameter ermittelt und entsprechend verglichen. Die aus den Untersuchungen gewonnenen Parameter können für weiterführende Verschleißuntersuchungen genutzt werden. Hence, regression models require high accuracy for the present system state and at the same time need to be valid across the whole system operating space. While accuracy for the current system state can be gained by updating the model on the current data, the overall validity must often be retrieved from historical or design data. We propose a method to find an appropriate compromise for these two demands. A pre-trained artificial neural network (ANN) is continually updated on the current sensor data stream using convex optimisation. Thus, a unique and optimal solution is generated in each update step, while robust regression accuracy on the domain that is not covered by the arriving data subset is maintained. This is achieved by introducing a data management system to provide some historical data, constraining the optimisation problem and manipulating the architecture of the ANN. Models updated with this method show reasonable stability but display plastic behaviour at the current operating point. Cutting tools in agricultureare exposed to a high amount of abrasive wear and impact stress. Blunt and deformed blades decrease the energy efficiencyand the cutting quality. Blade failures cause machine breakdowns and increase labor and material costs. This is important, since the increasing miniaturization and performance demands for electronic devices have led in a growing need for advanced thermal management systems capable of handling rapid transient loads. The novelty of the work lies in examining different heat sink layouts that optimize the heat dissipation capabilities of GR42 PCMs while minimizing size and weight for electronic cooling. The experimental testing was conducted using three configurations, namely no fin, circular fin and hexagonal fin, with three input powers (4 W, 8 W, and 12 W). The experimental results show that the hexagonal-fin heat sink, surface area is 25 % more than circular fins, exhibited superior thermal performance without significant variation in input power. Notably, the hexagonal-fin heat sink achieved the desired set point temperature of 55 ◦C in 33 % less time than the circular-fin design and 45 % less time than the heat sink without fins. Furthermore, the peak temperatures increased up to 21 % for circular fins. During the charging cycles, the enhancement ratios vary from 72 % and begin to narrow to 25 % during discharge cycles. The hexagonal-fin configuration also exhibited superior melting dynamics, completing the phase transition 44 % faster at higher input power than the circular fins, and established a thermal deviation of nearly 51 % less than finless heat sinks. These findings underscore the critical role of fin geometry and PCM integration in achieving uniform temperature distribution and improved energy storage efficiency. Overall, the hexagonal-fin heat sink with GR42 PCM shows strong potential as a passive cooling solution for low-power portable electronic devices.
