All too often we can not compute with the original lattices because of irrational numbers involved but have to work with approximations of them. While helpful bounds were shown about the reduction of lattice bases in cite{buchmann94reducing}, here we introduce the notion of a \$(epsilon,delta)\$-constructable basis of a lattice and determine the precision of vectors that is necessary to extend a set to a \$(epsilon,delta)\$-constructable basis.}, language = {en} } @article{DahmThiel2009, author = {Dahm, Markus and Thiel, Christoph}, title = {Gibt es die barrierefreie Brandmauer?}, series = {i-com: Journal of Interactive Media}, volume = {3}, journal = {i-com: Journal of Interactive Media}, number = {7}, issn = {1618-162X}, doi = {10.1524/icom.2008.0029}, pages = {14 -- 18}, year = {2009}, abstract = {Es scheint so zu sein, dass sich die beiden Ziele Gebrauchstauglichkeit und Sicherheit sehr h{\"a}ufig in der Umsetzung gegenseitig ausschließen: Eine sehr sichere Anwendung ist meistens eher aufw{\"a}ndiger zu benutzen und zu warten, eine einfach zu benutzende Anwendung vernachl{\"a}ssigt h{\"a}ufig die Sicherheit. Consequently such feedback devices are used to guide blind or visually impaired people but can also be used to support other wayfinding tasks - for instance, guiding actors in virtual studio productions. Recent effort has been made to simplify this task by integrating vibrotactile feedback into virtual studio applications. In this work we evaluate the accuracy of an improved direction signalization technique, utilizing a body-worn vibrotactile belt with a limited number of tactors, and compare it to other work. The results from our user study indicate that it is possible to signalize different directions accurately, even with a small number of tactors spaced by 90°.}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{HerderWilkeHeimbachetal.2009, author = {Herder, Jens and Wilke, Michael and Heimbach, Julia and G{\"o}bel, Sebastian and Marinos, Dionysios}, title = {Simple Actor Tracking for Virtual TV Studios Using a Photonic Mixing Device}, series = {12th International Conference on Human and Computer}, booktitle = {12th International Conference on Human and Computer}, address = {Hamamatsu / Aizu-Wakamatsu / D{\"u}sseldorf}, year = {2009}, abstract = {Virtual TV studios use actor tracking systems for resolving the occlusion of computer graphics and studio camera image. The actor tracking delivers the distance between actor and studio camera. We deploy a photonic mixing device, which captures a depth map and a luminance image at low resolution.
