The results obtained from this are to serve as simulation validation for subsequent work to be able to simulate the dynamic behavior of the component with regards to fatigue strength. To evaluate the data, a MATLAB script is developed that uses the Fourier transform to visualize the natural frequencies of the component by means of a representation in the frequency domain and can calculate the transfer function of the measured component by dividing the determined power spectra. A numerical simulation of a two-mass oscillator is used to prove the qualitative accuracy of the MATLAB script. The data from a single series of measurements are analyzed and it is shown that the strong damping of the measurement setup has a strong influence on the data and therefore no causal relationship between the input and output signal can be proven.}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{Kopp, author = {Kopp, Johannes}, title = {Novel Injector Technology with Advanced Modular Conceptual Design to Achieve Superior Material Feed in Jet Milling Systems}, series = {Applied Research Conference 2025}, booktitle = {Applied Research Conference 2025}, editor = {Stolle, Reinhard}, publisher = {Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg / Faculty of Electrical Engineering}, address = {Augsburg}, pages = {98 -- 103}, abstract = {This paper explores a new principle for counter jet milling, whereby material is fed precisely guided into the free jet of Laval nozzles. This paper introduces a conceptual framework for a web-based, AI-assisted system designed to overcome these barriers. The central contribution is the design of a pragmatic, document-based approach that does not require complex Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) integration. It utilizes a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture to power two specialized AI assistants: one for extracting data from unstructured documents and another for generating narrative EPD reports. This transforms the EPD from a static output into a dynamic, machine-readable asset. The proposed framework aims to make the EPD process more accessible, efficient, and transparent, enabling manufacturers to actively use Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) data for product optimization.}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{Kraus, author = {Kraus, Manuel}, title = {Effect of Drilling Parameters on the Machining Quality of Ceramic Matrix Composites}, series = {Applied Research Conference 2025}, booktitle = {Applied Research Conference 2025}, editor = {Stolle, Reinhard}, publisher = {Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg}, address = {Augsburg}, pages = {104 -- 108}, abstract = {Ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) are innovative materials that are increasingly being used in demanding applications such as aerospace and energy technology due to their high temperature resistance, strength and low density. Due to their high hardness, brittleness and abrasive behavior, these materials represent particular challenges in terms of processing, which is why specific strategies and adapted process parameters are required. An important topic in research is the energy saving in manufacturing processes of CMCs. This thesis introduces a multimodal co-learning approach that integrates consumer-specific textual metadata as an additional modality for NILM models. Specifically, metadata are encoded into fixed-length text embeddings, which are fused with the aggregate power data sequence in a Transformer-based deep learning model. This additional input specifies which consumer's power consumption to predict, allowing one model to be trained to disaggregate arbitrary consumers. Representing consumer names and types as word embeddings allows the multimodal NILM model to identify the target consumer and achieve disaggregation performance comparable to models trained individually for each consumer. However, encoding additional contextual information into consumer representations did not improve performance.
