TY - THES A1 - Rothmeier, Quirin Ludwig T1 - Designing an interface for cSports, a platform for computer games controlled via Python N2 - In this work, an interface for cSports, a platform for computer games controlled via Python, was created. The process followed the User Centered Design (UCD) approach. During the analysis phase, the already existing and working implemented prototype as well as competitors with similar approaches to learn code, partially also by controlling games with programming languages, were analyzed. Three target groups with different expertise levels were outlined. In the design phase, a concept was created for both the game itself (with CurvePong, a variant of Pong as a simple example) and the corresponding website. For this concept, wireframes were created first which were subsequently converted into a clickable prototype. Two different design options were created with this prototype. For evaluation, a study with n=16 participants was conducted to test the clickable prototype. The participants rated the protoype with the help of AttrakDiff and outlined their opinion in several questionnaires and interviews throughout the whole study. There was no significant difference found between both design options with the help of AttrakDiff. Nevertheless, the vast majority liked the dark concept as well as the desktop version better. A lot of feedback to improve the experience was included in the revised prototype, which was afterwards implemented with the help of Vue.js, a JavaScript frontend framework.
