    <title language="eng">Analysis of alternate fuel-based hydrogen technologies with a focus on future aviation</title>
    <abstract language="eng">The aviation is projected to be one of the fastest growing industry in the coming decades with an economy of 6 trillion U.S dollars. So there will be staggering demands for new aircrafts especially from the developing Asian, Middle-East, and African markets and therefore the greenhouse gas emissions will also naturally skyrocket due to the blooming economy. Urgent calls for pollution mitigation for the aircrafts is resonating in the industry, perhaps due to societal and political pressures.  Despite the highly efficient modern kerosene aircrafts and the technological advancements, there is a need for new fuel to meet the Paris convention and new hydrogen policies in order to become carbon neutral society by 2050.&#13;
This Thesis focuses on giving the overall scenario for hydrogen technologies in the aviation. The report gives the reader an understanding upon the future aviation market 2050, the need for hydrogen as a fuel in the aircraft. The hydrogen combustion engines do not emit CO2 and major Green House Gas emissions, only water and minor NOx pollutants are released. In fact 90% reduction in the nitrogen oxide derivatives has been found in the hydrogen aircrafts compare to the kerosene aircrafts. In 2022 it is possible to procure green hydrogen and get the liquid hydrogen through using purely renewable energies making aviation as role model and pioneer in the transportation field. The supply chain network for the future hydrogen airport has been discussed and found that the truck, rail, hydrogen pipelines can really solve these issues. Also it was shown that the hydrogen aircraft is equally safe as the kerosene aircraft.&#13;
In the last phase of the research, different hydrogen storage mediums such as ammonia, metal hydrides, liquid hydrogen has been discussed. So this report will give the reader a comprehensive overall picture of the conceptual hydrogen aviation right from the manufacturing fuel, propulsion technologies, cost analysis, safety, liquid hydrogen supply chain, Life cycle Assessment, hydrogen storage, airframes and developments in the industry.
