Today and in the future, leaders must handle new challenges and adapt constantly. To date, academic research has predominantly focused on specific leadership types during crisis and made suggestions for practitioners based on certain events of the past. This thesis aims to identify behaviors and skills that can be developed and implemented during any form of crisis. Based on a review of multidisciplinary literature, the analysis shows that the most effective leaders do not follow a specific approach and behavior, but rather incorporate many of at them at the same time and in different amounts. Through constant awareness of the current situation, leaders are able to proactively make the right decisions and successfully move forward during While the thesis does not provide a specific formula that ensures successful crisis leadership, it presents essential components and competencies leaders can develop and sharpen today to be in a constant state of readiness for future crises. This thesis provides behaviors and skills that can be developed and implemented during any form of crisis or change. It also shows how incorporating a vast variety of leadership approaches and behaviors is key to effectively lead through crisis and successfully adapt to an ever changing, digitized world.}, language = {en} } @thesis{ZambranaColque2020, author = {Zambrana Colque, Kathia Karen}, title = {Data Mining on the brick-and-mortar retailers}, publisher = {Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt}, address = {Ingolstadt}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:bvb:573-8745}, pages = {V, 58}, year = {2020}, abstract = {In this research, we focus on consumer behavior by studying the theory of reasoned action and creating a survey. This theory states that consumers only take an action if their expectations are met and if the perceived norms and control over behavior are favorable. Although the seemingly favorable conditions, e- commerce sector experienced significant difficulties as well. The aim of this study is to examine how the pandemic influenced the e- commerce in EU countries and to forecast the future of the sector in a post- covid world by reviewing the topic related literature and giving answers to the following research questions: 1. Does coronavirus pandemic leads to increase or decrease in e- commerce shopping (overall and by industries) and what are the reasons behind these trends? 2. What new challenges face e- commerce industries? 3. What is the future of e- commerce after the coronavirus pandemic; how it is going to change; what measures could be taken to improve? Also, an online survey was conducted to fill the information gaps that appeared in the course of the study. The survey reached 151 respondents, 114 of which gave valid answers.}, language = {en} } @thesis{Serebryakova2021, author = {Serebryakova, Anna}, title = {Local shopping platform as a means of overcoming the challenges of digital transformation}, subtitle = {User requirements assessment}, publisher = {Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt}, address = {Ingolstadt}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:bvb:573-32917}, pages = {vii, 75}, year = {2021}, abstract = {This thesis investigates a local shopping platform as a tool to address the challenges faced by local retailer sector due to the accelerated digital transformation during the Covid-19 pandemic. A user-centred approach chosen for this research helps to evaluate and categorise the attributes placed on platforms and thus identify the key aspects for platform acceptance and engagement. Within this methodological approach, qualitative data collected through content and survey analysis are quantified for the purpose of numerical representation and subsequent verbal interpretation. For the content analysis, there were selected 25 existing local shopping platforms, the data of which were juxtaposed with the answers of 67 questionnaire participants. This research shows that a potential user expresses a strong interest in using a local shopping platform, but their awareness of the existence of such a platform is still relatively limited. The study also shows that existing local shopping platforms do not entirely meet all of the user requirements and suggests existing platforms reprioritise their offerings and features based on user needs.}, language = {en} } @thesis{Shah2021, author = {Shah, Syed Istaqab Mushtaque Ali}, title = {Decrease of in-store traffic due to the coronavirus pandemic and turning to e-commerce as a solution}, publisher = {Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt}, address = {Ingolstadt}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:bvb:573-33151}, pages = {vii, 44}, year = {2021}, abstract = {Retail stores have witnessed major decrease in store traffic during the coronavirus pandemic. Footfall has always been of key concern for all retailers as a shop requires visitors to sell their products to. If there are no people visiting the stores, there are no sales which means the company is not making money and the very survival of the retailer is at risk. The major reason for this was the severity and seriousness of a pandemic which led to the loss of lives. Governments had to take charge and bring in regulations to reduce the spreading of a deadly virus. One of the regulations brought forth in many parts of the world, were the lockdowns which involved closing of retail stores, shops, offices, schools and many other institutions. The overall objective of this thesis is to go over what happened during the coronavirus pandemic, the effects it had on retailers and how companies as well as consumers turned to Ecommerce. The following questions will be looked into: What happened during the pandemic? Why was there a decrease in store traffic? What were the effects it had on some retailers? And how was Ecommerce a solution for companies and customers? This paper will be conducted in the following stages: first, the decrease of store traffic due to the coronavirus pandemic are discussed, a few markets will be investigated and finally showing how Ecommerce is a solution for companies to survive in the long-term.
