Increasing distribution energy resources penetration has led to the development of local generation and consumption ideas and, consequently, the emergence of the microgrid concept. However, the displacement of traditional power plants by distributed energy resources, especially in low voltage grids, poses new challenges for distribution grids' operation, such as voltage control. The reactive power support capability of distributed energy resources, one of the microgrid components, makes them a potentially useful source for voltage issues. However, this support should be allowed within the framework permitted by regulations. Although the Brazilian power system is mainly based on renewable energy sources, Brazilian legislation does not support the potential service capability of distributed energy resources. Moreover, the absence of an ancillary services market and the non-remuneration of ancillary services are the main reasons for distributed energy resources and microgrids not participating in such services. This thesis proposes developing two business models for a non-isolated microgrid in Brazil, one that considers regulations and one that can be described as innovative by not considering regulations. The business model has been developed with a reactive energy compensation approach in which PV inverters are used. Furthermore, two different remuneration mechanisms have been proposed for the innovative business model. The microgrid where the developed business models are implemented is modelled and simulated in Open Distribution System Simulator with IEEE 13-node test feeder. Since the simulated microgrid does not have any voltage issues, sensitivity analysis is performed to be able to provide more accurate results. The sensitivity analysis results show that the proposed remuneration mechanism can motivate the microgrid to provide ancillary services, resulting in a profit for the microgrid and mitigating voltage problems of the distribution grid.}, language = {en} } @article{BesnerMehtaZoerner2023, author = {Besner, Rebekka and Mehta, Kedar and Z{\"o}rner, Wilfried}, title = {How to Enhance Energy Services in Informal Settlements?}, volume = {16}, pages = {4687}, journal = {Energies}, subtitle = {Qualitative Comparison of Renewable Energy Solutions}, number = {12}, publisher = {MDPI}, address = {Basel}, issn = {1996-1073}, doi = {https://doi.org/10.3390/en16124687}, year = {2023}, abstract = {More than half of the urban population of Sub-Saharan Africa lives in informal housing conditions. Therefore, children, who are additionally influenced by rapid growth and maturation, are a very special cohort for foot measurements and the footwear industry. The importance of foot measurements for footwear fit, design, as well as clinical applications has been sufficiently described. New measurement techniques (3D foot scanning) allow the assessment of the individual foot shape. However, the validity in comparison to conventional methods remains unclear. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to compare 3D foot scanning with two established measurement methods (2D digital scanning/manual foot measurements). Methods Two hundred seventy seven children (125 m / 152 f; mean ± SD: 8.0 ± 1.5yrs; 130.2 ± 10.7cm; 28.0 ± 7.3kg) were included into the study. After collection of basic data (sex, age (yrs), body height (cm), body weight (kg)) geometry of the right foot was measured in static condition (stance) with three different measurement systems (fixed order): manual foot measurement, 2D foot scanning (2D desk scanner) and 3D foot scanning (hand-held 3D scanner). Main outcomes were foot length, foot width (projected; anatomical; instep), heel width and anatomical foot ball breadth. Analysis of variances for dependent samples was applied to test for differences between foot measurement methods (Post-hoc analysis: Tukey-Kramer-Test; α=0.05). Results Significant differences were found for all outcome measures comparing the three methods (p<0.0001). The span of foot length differences ranged from 3 to 6mm with 2D scans showing the smallest and 3D scans the largest deviations. Foot width measurements in comparison of 3D and 2D scans showed consistently higher values for 3D measurements with the differences ranging from 1mm to 3mm. Conclusions The findings suggests that when comparing foot data, it is important to consider the differences caused by new measurement methods. Differences of about 0.6cm are relevant when measuring foot length, as this is the difference of a complete shoe size (Parisian point). Hence, correction factors may be required to compare the results of different measurements appropriately. To effectively address the growing demand, it is crucial to simultaneously assess numerous options to generate technically optimal and economically feasible solutions. Therefore, new traditional grid reinforcement measures are introduced to the grid planning tool, eDisGo, and grid reinforcement simulations are conducted on high-resolution synthetic grid models representing the German grids for the investigations. Firstly, one scenario representing the future state of the German grid and six synthetically generated medium voltage grids, including underlying low voltage grids, are chosen. After grid issues are determined by respecting voltage and loading limits with power flow analyses based on the selected scenario, the existing and new measures are applied to the grids as a group or individually to solve the issues. Subsequently, with the results obtained for the MV and LV grid levels, the changes in the grids are analysed, and the extent to which the employed measures provide improvements. Lastly, as a result of the analyses, considering the grid reinforcement costs of each measure or measure group, the optimal solution for each grid characteristic is presented. In grids with highly loaded long feeders and a high number of feeders, reinforcements for LV grids with an additional MV/LV substation can offer the most suitable solution in terms of cost and improvement ratings. Splitting the feeders at a particular point provides cost-efficient solutions in reinforcing critical voltage deviations in MV and LV grids. In the reinforcement of overloading issues, the most optimal solutions cost- and improvement-wise is generally adding-line-based measures if the feeders are not long and comprised of highly overloaded lines. Optimization of switching unit in medium voltage rings conducted based on the loading of the feeders; although it is not a suitable solution in every case in terms of cost and improvement, costs can be kept at a lower priority since it is a vital reinforcement measure in terms of ensuring supply reliability in the rings.}, language = {en} } @thesis{Mohmand2023, author = {Mohmand, Agmal}, title = {Risikomanagement in der Software-Entwicklung, von traditionellen zu agilen Methoden}, publisher = {Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt}, address = {Ingolstadt}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:bvb:573-37050}, pages = {VIII, 58}, school = {Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt}, year = {2023}, abstract = {Die Arbeit handelt vom Risikomanagement in der Softwareentwicklung. However, their widespread adoption in the maritime industry is still limited due to numerous obstacles, including the lack of the required infrastructure to support them and the absence of regulatory frameworks such as refueling protocols designed for ferries. Currently, the design of hybrid ferries' storage systems is driven solely by their requirements and focuses only on the optimization of the ferry's operational side using several approaches, such as energy management systems (EMS). In regards to this, the present work considers the infrastructure dimension, such that a proposal of a hydrogen refueling protocol for ferries has been first developed based on the SAE J2601 standard designed particularly for light-duty vehicles. Further to this, two simplified models of a hydrogen refueling station (HRS) and a power charging station (PCS) infrastructures have been developed in Dymola/Modelica and later used to conduct the optimization investigations of a selected ferry case study regarding the infrastructure in a holistic approach. The energy split design between hydrogen and electricity was studied along with other parameters that impact the infrastructure design to be optimized regarding the infrastructure holistically by running various simulations. The sensitivity analysis results of these investigations' simulations show the significant impact of infrastructure consideration when designing a hybrid ferry. In addition, it has been demonstrated that immense potential benefits can be harvested from the infrastructure perspective in terms of efficiency and cost effectiveness, including savings of power losses, cooling energy, storage system volume on board the ferry, and operational costs of both the ferry and infrastructure. Finally, by considering all the findings in an integrated and interconnected way, stakeholders of the maritime transportation sector, including ferry owners and operators and infrastructure providers, can identify the optimum split design of the hybrid storage system in a holistic approach regarding the infrastructure following the methodology for optimization developed throughout this work. In this work, the self-discharge was measured at 30 °C for three cell types at various voltage levels for about 150 days in a constant voltage mode determining the current at a high precision (float current). All cells exhibit a transient part leading to a steady-state, which is no longer influenced by reversible effects. To study the effect of the check-ups on the steady-state float current, the cells, interrupted and not interrupted by check-ups, were compared. The results indicate that both the transient processes and steady-state currents are highly reproducible. In the first period of the float current, the polarization dominates the measured current, followed by the anode overhang effect dominating the process for a period of 5-30 days. After the decline of both processes, a mostly constant steady-state in the order of µA is observed. The check-up interruption generally shows no apparent effect on the reached steady-state and results only in an extended settling time. A model to simulate the transient process and steady-state of float currents was developed. The model shows a high accuracy in reproducing the results and identifying the time needed to reach the steady-state.}, language = {en} } @thesis{Merk2023, author = {Merk, Sebastian Johannes}, title = {Social-Media-Commerce und Werbeanzeigen auf TikTok statt Meta?}, subtitle = {Chancen und Umsetzungsm{\"o}glichkeiten innerhalb der Plattform, dargestellt am Beispiel des Startups kr{\"a}uterkraft.}, publisher = {Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt}, address = {Ingolstadt}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:bvb:573-36716}, pages = {IV, 134}, school = {Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt}, year = {2023}, abstract = {Immer mehr Personen lassen sich beim Online-Shopping in den sozialen Netzwerken inspirieren. This leads to the optimization which makes it possible to reduce this costs. One method of optimization is the post-training integer quantization. Quantization reduces the data precision from 32-bit floating-point to 8-bit integer. This can be applied on neural networks, which then makes it possible to deploy the neural network on edge platforms that can not deal with high precision values. The goal of this thesis is to evaluate the post-training quantization on integer precision using different networks, platforms and criteria. It leads to the question how the quantization can be performed and what are the differences when using different toolkits. Another aspect is to provide an answer about how different types of neural networks can be quantized. As well as which impact quantization on various properties of the neural network have. To address the research questions an intensive testing on two different kinds of neural networks is performed. The convolutional neural network VGG-16 and the transformer neural network Vision Transformer. Both networks are getting quantized and inference performed using the frameworks TensorFlow and TensorRT. The corresponding platforms are the NVIDIA Tesla V100, NVIDIA RTX 2080 TI, NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier and NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin. The quantization happens in 16-bit floating-point as well as 8-bit integer precision on each platform. Each network, including the quantized ones, are evaluated using the accuracy, file size, average throughput and the power consumption. In this thesis the post-training integer quantization was only successful for the VGG-16 not for the Vision Transformer (ViT) using TensorRT. Nevertheless the 16-bit quantization worked also for the ViT and with 8-bit integer quantization using TensorFlow Lite (TF Lite), but with a near to zero accuracy. The post-training quantization had a significant accuracy drop for 8-bit integer precision where it was for the VGG-16 from around 65 \% with 32-bit floating-point precision to approximately 55 percent. The 16-bit floating-point quantized models had nearly no accuracy drop for the VGG-16 and a drop around 73 \% to 70 \% for the ViT using TensorRT. The average throughput is increasing when using TensorFlow-TensorRT and TensorRT but decreasing when inference is run using the TensorFlow Lite converted models. TensorFlow-TensorRT performed as nearly as good as TensorRT, but did not quantize the models fully. TensorFlow Lite had the lowest throughput, since it is primarily optimized for mobile devices, where TensorRT performed overall the best. It was also possible to reduce the power consumption up to 50 \%. Future research in can be the full 8-bit integer quantization for the ViT with own operator support as well as having a higher calibration data amount for both networks.}, language = {en} } @thesis{Siemermann2023, author = {Siemermann, Jan Erik}, title = {Entwicklung einer Wechselwirkungsanalyse zur Untersuchung verschiedener Ans{\"a}tze zur Reduktion des Prim{\"a}rmaterialbedarfs und der CO2-Emissionen f{\"u}r Traktionsbatterien}, publisher = {Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt}, address = {Ingolstadt}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:bvb:573-36595}, pages = {65}, school = {Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt}, year = {2023}, language = {de} } @thesis{Sell2023, author = {Sell, Christoph Dominic}, title = {Standardisierte Darstellung von realen Short-Range-Radar Sensordaten durch das Open Simulation Interface in einer ROS2 Fahrzeugarchitektur}, publisher = {Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt}, address = {Ingolstadt}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:bvb:573-36583}, pages = {VII, 62}, school = {Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt}, year = {2023}, abstract = {Autonomes Fahren wird ein immer wichtigeres Thema.
