However, it can also be beneficial in project management to better understand processes and lead to efficiency-enhancing improvements. As work in projects becomes increasingly important, this paper presents the different applications of process mining in project management. For this purpose, the current state of research on process mining in the context of project management will be described, based on a systematic literature review. This review shows the different application areas and project focuses of the different research approaches. Furthermore, it gives an overview which tools and algorithms have been used in previous research and which data has been used to create an event log. Overall, despite the literature found and various considerations, a research gap for project management is evident here.}, subject = {Prozessmanagement}, language = {en} } @article{StarflingerMartens2023, author = {Starflinger, Verena and Martens, Maren}, title = {Best Practices of Circular Business Models - Benefits and Challenges (not only) for German Start-ups}, series = {Research Notes on Data and Process Science}, journal = {Research Notes on Data and Process Science}, number = {5}, issn = {2702-508X}, doi = {10.57688/391}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:bvb:860-opus4-3918}, pages = {1 -- 11}, year = {2023}, abstract = {Circular economy is becoming a buzzword in times where our planetary boundaries are increasingly being exhausted by the extensive extraction of global resources. Although the idea of reusing and recycling products or materials is quite simple and holds many advantages, the transformation towards circular business models imposes many hurdles. This paper gives an overview on the variety of circular business models, before it highlights opportunities and difficulties that companies may experience on their way towards them. The involvement of small and medium-sized enterprises in micro degrees on digitalization and sustainability}, number = {7}, doi = {10.57688/411}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:bvb:860-opus4-4118}, pages = {1 -- 10}, year = {2024}, abstract = {The rapid changes in digitalization, the resulting rise of new technologies, as well as the new requirements in conducting and reporting sustainable practices confront companies with distinct challenges. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are affected particularly, as they typically struggle, even stronger than bigger firms, with a lack of human capital and limited time for further education. To address these challenges, different institutions have identified micro degrees as a possibility to provide necessary further education in short time. Such micro degrees have been developed and offered by the Landshut University of Applied Sciences in Bavaria, concentrating on carefully selected topics from digitalization and sustainability with a special focus on the needs of SMEs. The study presented in this paper investigates the involvement of Bavarian SMEs in the micro degrees and which groups of employees they attracted throughout the offered program. It compares the structure of the micro degree participants, e.g., regarding gender, educational background, and age, to the general structure of employees in Bavaria and to the structure of participants in further education overall. It turns out that the offered micro degrees are generally well appreciated, but rather by people with academic background, rather by men than by women, and rather by young to medium-aged people. These results are examined diligently and discussed in detail.}, language = {en} }
