Regulations for pre- and post-prints

The publication of pre- or postprints is legally possible and desirable in many cases. Various studies have shown that Open Access second publications increase the citation frequency. Studies on the topic of impact analysis can be found at "The Open Citation Project - Reference Linking and Citation Analysis for Open Archives" (opcit.eprints.org/oacitation-biblio.html).

The Open Access Resolution of Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences also explicitly encourages its researchers not to grant publishers exclusive rights for publication, but to reserve the right to make a digital copy of their publications available on the university publication server after any waiting periods.

Information on the respective waiting periods of the publishers can be found, for example, in the SHERPA/RoMEO-Liste Please also note the information on the publication process in h_docs and its technical requirements.
