How does the publishing process works

The FHWS Library offers you the possibility to publish your documents as online publications in OPUS. Content and formatting of documents uploaded in OPUS need to meet the required standards of academic papers.

In order to publish a document in OPUS, please select menu option Publishing .

First you will be asked to select a document type from a list. Directly below, you can upload your file(s).

Your documents will be published as a PDF file.

Afterwards, please make sure to read the guidelines and accept by placing a check.

Move on to the next step. The actual form is next. This is where you need to enter various data (so-called metadata) which will primarily serve as description in catalogues and other bibliographic directories. Dependent on the type of document some fields are mandatory (marked with an asterisk*) and thus need to be filled in.

After completing your data entries, all data will be displayed once again and you have three possibilities: If necessary you can correct your document’s data, cancel or have it saved directly.

After saving, your details and the full text will be uploaded into an intermediate memory of OPUS. Your online publication will only be listed and thus be made publically accessible on the internet after a formal check by members of the staff of the FHWS Library has been proceeded.

Final papers will only be published after a Letter of publication agreement signed by both, the author of the paper and the tutor, has been submitted to the university.
