TY - CHAP A1 - Mester, Gyula T1 - New Trends in Scientometrics T2 - Papers of 33rd International Scientific Conference "Science in Practice" N2 - This paper is a review of new trends in scientometrics. Indexes in scientometrics are based on citations. However, in contrast to the journal impact factor, which gives only the ranking of the scientific journals ordered by impact factor, indexes in scientometrics are suitable for ranking of scientists, scientific journals, research teams, research institutions and countries. In this paper the h-index, h5-index, h5-median, g-index, i10-index, ranking of the top of 20 Highly Cited Researchers (h>100) and the ranking of 10 scientists in Hungarian Institutions according to their Google Scholar Citations public profiles are considered. These indexes (h-index, h5-index and h5-median) are applied for making of the ranking list of the first 12 scientists in robotics and of the list of top 20 publications in the field of Robotics. The World ranking is done for the best 15 countries and also 25 countries in the scientific field of the Artificial Intelligence according to H index in year 2013. Data are obtained from the portal Scimago. In conclusions it is stated that the ranking of journals and of researches have to be strictly separated.
