This poster summary offers a brief overview of the methodical approach behind the process of curriculum development for the design degree programmes at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam (Fachhochschule Potsdam [FHP]), in adherence to the underlying principle of an iterative ideation process as part of the interdisciplinary project entitled “Design NOT plain vanilla”. It presents an approach enriched by the example of “student” stakeholder group integration. First, the shared attributes linked to digitalisation that characterise the transformation of job descriptions found in the epistemic cultures of design and information sciences, and the differences in existing curricula concepts were outlined. Based on this, an explanation is provided as to why – as per the authors’ interpretation – the methodical approach that shapes the development of curricula as well as the underlying paradigms of the curriculum concept within the design degree programmes could provide prudent impetus for the process of curriculum development, as well as for the structure of curricula in information Science
degree programmes.
