The study investigates how cultural organisations can pursue climate neutrality whilst navigating systemic and operational challenges. The pilot project on carbon footprinting by the German Federal Cultural Foundation serves as the primary case study, examining the potential of such reports as instruments for sustainability strategies. The findings indicate that direct emission reductions are often constrained by the systemic limitations of arts organisations, with critical leverage points located at national and international levels. The paper identifies emerging trends of institutional isomorphism, where carbon footprint reports are at risk of becoming coercive mandates instead of voluntary sustainability practices. Ultimately, although carbon footprint reports are essential for initiating sustainability efforts, realising genuine ecological transformation necessitates wider systemic and political engagement beyond standardised methodologies. The fundamental and most important characteristic of composite dowels is the shape of the cutting line. It is important to understand why only one particular shape of the cutting line is used in bridge engineering, while so many different shapes have been investigated by many researchers. The essential part of the process of developing composite dowels - the development of the shape of the cutting line - is presented in this paper. The influence of the steel web thickness is presented, and technological problems of steel fabrication are highlighted. The role of empirical experience from the first bridges, push-out tests, and finite element simulations is presented. Assumptions for numerical procedures are given. The distinction between the steel failure and concrete failure modes is introduced for composite dowels. The paper presents how the concept of "shape" was divided into "shape," "ratio," and finally "size," and how, because of the fatigue problems in bridges, all the three factors have emerged to result in the form of shapes that can satisfy the requirements for bridges. This article introduces PaSyMo (Participatory Systems Modeling), a gamified communication support system designed to assist urban planners in communicative and deliberative planning. PaSyMo integrates three conceptual pillars that guided its design: stakeholder engagement, participatory agent-based modeling (ABM), and visualization on tangible interfaces. The system combines a simulation environment grounded in geodata and ABM with discursive elements from scenario workshops and role-playing games, bridging digital and non-digital formats. PaSyMo contributes to the growing field of GAM research (Games and Agent-based Modeling; Szczepanska et al., 2022) by providing a framework that explores the integration of gaming mechanics with urban simulation tools, highlighting their potential to support sustainable urban planning. The approach draws from participatory modeling (Sterling et al., 2019; Voinov \& Bousquet, 2010) while leveraging state-of-the-art geospatial simulation and interactive interfaces to facilitate communication and co-production of knowledge among diverse stakeholders. Exploratory findings suggest that combining gaming experience with geospatial data visualization and ABM offers a promising approach to communicate the potential implications and trade-offs of urban planning initiatives. This integration enhances stakeholder engagement, promotes shared understanding, and supports consensus building. By making urban planning processes more interactive, PaSyMo can extend the impact of planning research beyond academic settings. This paper proposes a speculative vocabulary that describes possible characteristics of phygital spaces, an emerging development where the physical and the digital increasingly merge and fundamentally form human perception of reality. The emergence of phygital spaces is driven by dominant digital-economic worldviews that get projected into the future. This might reinforce already problematic circumstances as well as create completely new issues. The paper explores how this could manifest in certain characteristics through the proposition of speculative terms. The terms attempt to describe possible changes in human-world relationships that affect existence, meaning and behavior. Among other things, this includes changes such as the curation of a person's view of the world by personalization algorithms, the enhancement of a person's understanding of the world through algorithmic pre-interpretation or the organization of social systems through synchronized individual action recommendations. Futures within which these reality-forming characteristics would exist need to be explored, discussed, shaped and possibly prevented. Language is thereby a tool to enable new conversations and organize actions across a wide range of people.
