This article introduces PaSyMo (Participatory Systems Modeling), a gamified communication support system designed to assist urban planners in communicative and deliberative planning. PaSyMo integrates three conceptual pillars that guided its design: stakeholder engagement, participatory agent-based modeling (ABM), and visualization on tangible interfaces. The system combines a simulation environment grounded in geodata and ABM with discursive elements from scenario workshops and role-playing games, bridging digital and non-digital formats. PaSyMo contributes to the growing field of GAM research (Games and Agent-based Modeling; Szczepanska et al., 2022) by providing a framework that explores the integration of gaming mechanics with urban simulation tools, highlighting their potential to support sustainable urban planning. The approach draws from participatory modeling (Sterling et al., 2019; Voinov \& Bousquet, 2010) while leveraging state-of-the-art geospatial simulation and interactive interfaces to facilitate communication and co-production of knowledge among diverse stakeholders. Exploratory findings suggest that combining gaming experience with geospatial data visualization and ABM offers a promising approach to communicate the potential implications and trade-offs of urban planning initiatives. This integration enhances stakeholder engagement, promotes shared understanding, and supports consensus building. By making urban planning processes more interactive, PaSyMo can extend the impact of planning research beyond academic settings. Preliminary insights indicate that PaSyMo can enhance stakeholder understanding, knowledge integration, consensus-building, and proactive planning, especially in contexts of decision-making in complex and uncertain situations; however, these findings need to be substantiated in future studies.}, subject = {Modellierung}, language = {en} } @article{SchoenfeldMerkelHildebrandtetal., author = {Sch{\"o}nfeld, Romy and Merkel, Hannah and Hildebrandt, Frauke and Lonnemann, Jan}, title = {Partizipative Prozesse in Kindertagesst{\"a}tten}, series = {Diskurs Kindheits- und Jugendforschung}, volume = {20}, journal = {Diskurs Kindheits- und Jugendforschung}, number = {4}, publisher = {Budrich}, address = {Leverkusen}, issn = {2193-9713}, doi = {10.3224/diskurs.v20i4.07}, pages = {535 -- 549}, abstract = {Studien zeigen, dass es fr{\"u}hp{\"a}dagogischen Fachkr{\"a}ften nicht umfassend gelingt, Kindern in Alltagssituationen Beteiligungsm{\"o}glichkeiten zu gew{\"a}hren (Hildebrandt et al., 2021). Focus-based brief parent-infant psychotherapy (PIP-f) was developed to support parents 'mentalize' their child's affective states and promote a healthy parent-child relationship and child development. Efficacy of PIP-f was evaluated against care-as-usual (CAU) in a randomized controlled trial within the SKKIPPI project. Method N = 120 mothers diagnosed with an ICD-10 psychopathological disorder and their infants under one year were randomly assigned to PIP-f (n = 57) or CAU (n = 63). Primary outcome was maternal sensitivity in mother-child interaction after 6 weeks of intervention. Secondary outcomes include maternal and child psychopathological symptoms, child development, parenting stress, emotional availability, parental reflective functioning and child attachment after 6 weeks and 12 months. Results PIP-f was not superior to CAU in maternal sensitivity (b = 0.129, 95\%CI [-0.161, 0.418], p = 0.378) at post-intervention, nor in maternal symptoms (b =-0.702, [-2.603, 1.198], p = 0.463) or child symptoms of regulatory disorder (b = 1.079, [-2.344, 4.502], p = 0.531). Attachment security assessed at 12 months did not differ between intervention groups (OR = 2.0, [0.64, 6.33], p = 0.226). Moderator analyses suggest that emotional availability and parental reflective functioning improve up to 12 months for more severe cases. Conclusion Differences between PIP-f and CAU were smaller than expected, but PIP-f seemed to reduce symptoms of mental health problems. Some evidence exists that mothers with higher symptom burden benefit from PIP-f. High dropout rates and initially high emotional availability prevent generalizability. The Gestalt approach has so far played a minimal or no role in social science courses (social work, psychology) as well as in the practice of social work. This book makes the Gestalt approach accessible to a wider audience so that specialists can expand their methodological repertoire accordingly. The authors see professionalism as a continuous, lifelong process that consists of training, reflection and research in specific practical situations. With this volume, they open up a learning path for readers, conveying a didactic concept so that readers can acquire methodological skills for conducting consultations. Based on the authors' experiences dealing with the topics of depression, addiction, codependency, parenting advice, trauma/dissociation and psychosis, short video recordings, commented transcriptions and summary graphics have been created to explain the basic relationship dynamics and approaches to action. This learning material can be used by students and practitioners in the field of the social work, but it is also would interest anyone who is involved in consulting and coaching in other areas. The focus is on reenacting and reflecting on practical situations based on cases. In role plays, students or professionals put themselves in the shoes of clients and consultants. Through these case reflections, basic conversation dynamics on specific topics can be both experienced as well as understood. Approaches can be tried out in order to expand the methodological repertoire for practice. Thus, although students experiment with ChatGPT, they do not use it very frequently for their studies. Its primary applications include clarifying questions, explaining concepts, analysing, editing, and writing texts, as well as conducting literature reviews. The frequency of ChatGPT use was primarily predicted by its perceived usefulness, followed by perceived ease of use. Interestingly, affinity for technological interaction did not emerge as a significant predictor.
