N2 - This Paper proposes a novel method for the blind detection of image pre-processing techniques by means of statistical pattern recognition in image forensics. The technique is intended to detect sensor intrinsic pre-processing steps as well as manually applied filters. We have exemplary chosen 6 pre-processing filters with different parameter settings. The concept utilizes 29 image features which are supposed to allow for a reliable model creation during supervised learning. The evaluation of the trained models indicates average accuracies between 82.50 and 94.53%. The investigation of image data from 8 sensors leads to the detection of credible pre-processing filters. Those results adumbrate that our method might be suitable to prove the authenticity of the data origin and the integrity of image data based on the detected preprocessing techniques. The preliminary evaluation for manually applied filters yields recognition accuracies between 39.09% (14 classes) and 53.33% (7 classes).

N2 - Sensing is nowadays an accepted application of phononic crystals with chemical and biosensors for liquid analytes being the perhaps most promising ones. A liquid-filled defect is introduced that turns into a resonant cavity. Similar to the well-known resonant sensors sensitivity can be increased with higher operating frequencies. We introduce a Sandwiched Phononic Crystal (SPC), which applies a resonant cavity located between two stacked layers on top of a SAW device. Key challenges are coupling of surface acoustic wave into the liquid cavities and avoiding scattering of the guided waves into the bulk of the sensor chip.

N2 - Phononic crystals (PnC) with a specifically designed liquid-filled defect have been recently introduced as a novel sensor platform (Lucklum et al. in Sens Actuators B Chem 171–172:271–277, 2012). Sensors based on this principle feature a band gap covering the typical input span of the measurand as well as a narrow transmission peak within the band gap where the frequency of maximum transmission is governed by the measurand. This approach has been applied for determination of volumetric properties of liquids (Lucklum et al. in Sens Actuators B Chem 171–172:271–277, 2012; Oseev et al. in Sens Actuators B Chem 189:208–212, 2013; Lucklum and Li in Meas Sci Technol 20(12):124014, 2009) and has demonstrated attractive sensitivity. One way to improve sensitivity requires higher probing frequencies in the range of 100 MHz and above. In this range surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices are an established basis for sensors. We have performed first tests towards a PnC microsensors (Lucklum et al. in Towards a SAW based phononic crystal sensor platform. In: 2013 Joint European frequency and time forum and international frequency control symposium (EFTF/IFC), pp 69–72, 2013). The respective feature size of the PnC SAW sensor has dimensions in the range of 10 µm and below. Whereas those dimensions are state of the art for common MEMS materials, etching of holes and cavities in piezoelectric materials that have an aspect ratio diameter/depth is still challenging. In this contribution we describe an improved technological process able to realize considerably deep and uniform holes in a SAW substrate.

N2 - The study focuses on high-performance combined electro-spark alloying of titanium and titanium alloy (VT1-0, VT16) surface and porous matrix structure oxidation. The metal-oxide coatings morphology is the result of melt drop transfer, heat treatment, and oxidation. The study establishes the influence of technological regimes of alloying and oxidation on morphological heterogeneity of biocompatible layered metal-oxide system Ti-Ta-(Ti,Ta)xOy. It was found that during electro-spark alloying the concentration of tantalum on the titanium surface ranges from 0.1 to 3.2 at.%. Morphology of the deposited splats is represented by uniformly grown crystals of titanium and tantalum oxides, which increase from nano- to submicron size.

N2 - Since the face morphing attack was introduced by Ferrara et al. in 2014, the detection of face morphings has become a wide spread topic in image forensics. By now, the community is very active and has reported diverse detection approaches. So far, the evaluations are mostly performed on images without post-processing. Face images stored within electronic machine readable documents (eMRTD) are ICAO-passport-scaled to a resolution of 413x531 and a JPG or JP2 lesize of 15 kilobytes. This paper introduces a face morphing detection concept with 3 modules (ICAO-aligned pre- processing module, feature extraction module and classi cation module), tailored for such images on eMRTD. In this work we exemplary design and evaluate two feature spaces for the feature extraction module, a frequency domain and a spatial domain feature space. Our evaluation will compare both feature spaces and is carried out with 66,229 passport-scaled images (64,363 morphed face images and 1,866 authentic face images) which are completly independent from training and include all images provided for the IHMMSEC'19 special session: "Media Forensics - Fake or Real?". Furthermore, we investigate the in uence of di erent morph gen- eration pipelines to the detection accuracies of the concept and we analyse the impact of neutral and smiling genuine faces to the morph detector performance. The evaluation determines a detection rate of 86.0% for passport-scaled morphed images with a false alarm rate of 4.4% for genuine images for the spatial domain feature space.

N2 - Since its introduction in 2014, the face morphing forgery (FMF) attack has received significant attention from the biometric and media forensic research communities. The attack aims at creating artificially weakened templates which can be successfully matched against multiple persons. If successful, the attack has an immense impact on many biometric authentication scenarios including the application of electronic machine-readable travel document (eMRTD) at automated border control gates. We extend the StirTrace framework for benchmarking FMF attacks by adding five issues: a novel three-fold definition for the quality of morphed images, a novel FMF realisation (combined morphing), a post-processing operation to simulate the digital image format used in eMRTD (passport scaling 15 kB), an automated face recognition system (VGG face descriptor) as additional means for biometric quality assessment and two feature spaces for FMF detection (keypoint features and fusion of keypoint and Benford features) as additional means for forensic quality assessment. We show that the impact of StirTrace post-processing operations on the biometric quality of morphed face images is negligible except for two noise operators and passport scaling 15 kB, the impact on the forensic quality depends on the type of post-processing, and the new FMF realisation outperforms the previously considered ones.

N2 - This paper introduces an approach to automatic generation of visually faultless facial morphs along with a proposal on how such morphs can be automatically detected. It is endeavored that the created morphs cannot be recognized as such with the naked eye and a reference automatic face recognition (AFR) system produces high similarity scores while matching a morph against faces of persons who participated in morphing. Automatic generation of morphs allows for creating abundant experimental data, which is essential (i) for evaluating the performance of AFR systems to reject morphs and (ii) for training forensic systems to detect morphs. Our first experiment shows that human performance to distinguish between morphed and genuine face images is close to random guessing. In our second experiment, the reference AFR system has verified 11.78% of morphs against any of genuine images at the decision threshold of 1% false acceptance rate. These results indicate that facial morphing is a serious threat to access control systems aided by AFR and establish the need for morph detection approaches. Our third experiment shows that the distribution of Benford features extracted from quantized DCT coefficients of JPEG-compressed morphs is substantially different from that of genuine images enabling the automatic detection of morphs.

N2 - The public sector faces several challenges, such as a number of external and internal demands for change, citizens' dissatisfaction and frustration with public sector organizations, that need to be addressed. An alternative to the traditional top-down development of public services is co-creation of public services. Co-creation promotes collaboration between stakeholders with the aim to create better public services and achieve public values. At the same time, data analytics has been fuelled by the availability of immense amounts of textual data. Whilst both co-creation and TA have been used in the private sector, we study existing works on the application of Text Analytics (TA) techniques on text data to support public service co-creation. We systematically review 75 of the 979 papers that focus directly or indirectly on the application of TA in the context of public service development. In our review, we analyze the TA techniques, the public service they support, public value outcomes, and the co-creation phase they are used in. Our findings indicate that the TA implementation for co-creation is still in its early stages and thus still limited. Our research framework promotes the concept and stimulates the strengthening of the role of Text Analytics techniques to support public sector organisations and their use of co-creation process. From policy-makers' and public administration managers' standpoints, our findings and the proposed research framework can be used as a guideline in developing a strategy for the designing co-created and user-centred public services.

N2 - Unsere Welt verändert sich in unterschiedlichen Tempi und Verwerfungstiefen. Dies ist das einzig Verlässliche für Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft.
Zum einen zählt die kreative Zerstörung zum ‚Markenkern‘ marktwirtschaftlicher Systeme. Die Wirtschaftsakteure stehen dadurch an ihrem jeweiligen Standort unter einer Art (produktivem) Dauerstress. Es gibt Gewinner und Verlierer, weil Wettbewerber unterschiedlich erfolgreich kostensenkende Rationalisierungen, technischen Fortschritt und die Erschließung neuer (globaler) Märkte realisieren. Der damit einhergehende Strukturwandel gilt als wirtschaftssystemischer Normalzustand.
Zum anderen gibt es Krisen. Und auch ‚unter Schock‘ (re-)agieren Akteure ungleich, wie die Corona-Pandemie oder abrupte Veränderungen durch die Finanzkrise zeigen. Einige Akteure und Standorte bleiben mit ihrem jeweiligen Profil und Potenzial (weiterhin) produktiv widerstandsfähig. Für andere verschärfen sich der wirtschaftliche Niedergang und dessen Folgen für die Arbeitsmärkte und Lebensqualität der Betroffenen.
Regionale Wirtschaftsförderung unterstützt, dass sich die Wirtschaftsstrukturen an einem Standort überlebensfähig ausrichten. Doch kann sie auch beim Umgang mit Krisen einen Mehrwert erzielen und zählt dies überhaupt zu ihrem Regelauftrag? Und welche Rolle spielt die Digitalisierung? Der Beitrag stellt den sachlogischen Zusammenhang zwischen diesen Teilfragen her und ordnet neuere Ansätze ein. Zudem werden Ansatzstellen aufgezeigt, um die regionale Wirtschaftsförderung praxisorientiert weiterzuentwickeln. ‚Electronic Government‘ (E-Government) beschreibt dabei den Einsatz von Informationstechnik, Telekommunikation und Medien (ITKM) im öffentlichen Sektor, während ‚Electronic Governance‘ (E-Governance) hybride oder private Akteure miteinbezieht.
Der Beitrag ist wie folgt strukturiert: Zunächst werden Schlüsselbegriffe wie Strukturpolitik und Resilienz geklärt und mit den Kontextfaktoren verknüpft, welche die Steuerungslogik von Wirtschaftsförderung bestimmen. Danach wird diskutiert, inwiefern die Wirtschaftsförderung E-Government und E-Governance nutzen kann, um Resilienz zu stärken und möglichst transformativ wirken zu können.

N2 - The paper presents our public Gait Analysis Data Base (http://gaitanalysis.th-brandenburg.de), which contains 3D walking kinematics and muscle activity data from healthy adults walking at normal, slow or fast pace on the flat ground or at an incremental speeds on treadmill. The acceleration, angular velocity and magnetic rate vectors are measured using XSens MTw sensors attached to both feet, shanks, thighs and the pelvis. EMG recordings are acquired using PLUX sEMG sensors applied at various leg muscles. The paper gives not only a detailed description of the data base, its webpage and the used terms (scenario, proband, experiment and trial), but also an overview about the experimental setup, the acquisition of data and the procedure of the experiments, the data processing and evaluation. Results of exemplary applications are described in the second part of the paper.

N2 - A central idea of ubiquitous music is that music does not arise from the ideas of an isolated genius, but rather from the interaction of several participants [Keller et al. 2014]. But this requires a certain amount of restraint on the part of the designers of the respective setting and at the same time seems to require a full disclosure of the underlying theoretical and aesthetic concepts to the participants, if the participants are really to be taken seriously and given the means to actually be able to become creative themselves in an understandable way within the given context. In this paper, the consequences of such a demand are first discussed theoretically. Finally, for the concept developed by the author, ”Every human being can compose on the basis of natural numbers”, an attempt is made in this specific case to determine in what form such a concept could be passed on in order to meet the above criteria.

N2 - In modern societies, technology has a high value, as nearly all systems are controlled by information technology. This thesis aims to develop a technical representation of the MITRE ATT&CK matrix to enable faster and more effective responses to cyber attacks. Based on a analysis of common cyber attack models, such as the Diamnond Model of Intrusion Analysis and the Lockheed Martin Cyber Kill Chain, the MITRE ATT&CK matrix is used to develop an extended Kill Chain model. In this new model, MITRE tactics are grouped into five sequential attack phases, allowing for a clearer differentiation between actions taken during an attack. Aditionally, one ongoing group of MITRE tactics was identified.
Building on this model, two graph-based representations are developed: a simple graph structure and a hierarchical, tree-shaped graph of MITRE tactics and techniques. The following discussion addresses the practical application of the new model, as well as potential further developments, such as integrating AI to analyse and predict existing and potential attack patterns.

N2 - Der Stellenwert der Überwachung der Sicherheit von IT-Systemen nimmt mit dem Voranschreiten der Digitalisierung immer weiter zu.
Um diese Aufgabe zu vereinfachen werden Monitoring-Systeme eingesetzt.
Diese sammeln und verarbeiten Daten, um den Status des IT-Systems zu ermitteln.
Zu diesen Monitoring-Systemen zählt Wazuh, welches in der Lage ist, die "Integrität" und "Vertraulichkeit" unter Zuhilfenahme von Agenten zu überwachen.
Damit deckt Wazuh lediglich zwei der drei Schutzziele der IT-Sicherheit ab.
Aus diesem Grund wird in dieser Bachelorarbeit untersucht, auf welche Art und Weise sich das SIEM und XDR System um Heartbeat Monitoring erweitern lässt.
Dadurch wird Wazuh befähigt das dritte Schutzziel der IT-Sicherheit, die Verfügbarkeit, zu überwachen.
Zu diesem Zweck wird eine Erweiterung der Wazuh-Implementierung um den Heartbeat Daemon des Elastic Stacks durchgeführt.
Die Implementierung soll in der Lage sein, die Daten des Heartbeat Daemons zu empfangen, zu speichern, darzustellen und Benachrichtigungen auszulösen,
sobald sich der Status von überwachten Systemkomponenten ändert.
Um die Funktionalität dieses Proof of Concepts zu überprüfen wird Heartbeat Monitoring ebenfalls in einem Vergleichssystem umgesetzt.
Dabei handelt es sich um die native Umgebung des Daemons, den Elastic Stack.
Die Funktionalität des Elastic Stacks konnte auf unterschiedlichen Wegen reproduziert werden.
Dies erfolgt zum einen durch die direkte Verarbeitung der Heartbeat-Ausgabe durch Wazuh.
Alternativ besteht die Möglichkeit, die Heartbeat-Daten direkt in Wazuhs Datenbank zu schreiben.
In Abhängigkeit der Version des Heartbeat-Daemons ist die Verwendung von Logstash als Middleware erforderlich.
Das Darstellen der Daten ist für beide Methoden in Wazuhs Weboberfläche möglich.
Das Erweitern von Wazuh um Heartbeat Monitoring ermöglicht der Software die Abdeckung der relevantesten Schutzziele der IT-Sicherheit.
Es wird gezeigt, welche Methoden zur Erweiterung der Open-Source-Software angewendet werden können.

An aspect of this thesis will be the exploration of the incident and its social engineering campaign that led to a threat actor becoming a maintainer of XZ Utils. Another part of this work will be the analysis of how the vulnerability in XZ Utils affects SSH and whether SSH authentication is compromised by this vulnerability. N2 - In der Domäne der Zeitreihen besteht ein Mangel an qualitativ hochwertigen Daten, was die Leistungsfähigkeit von Deep-Learning-Modellen beeinträchtigen kann. Diese Arbeit untersucht Data-Augmentation-Methoden im Bereich von Zeitreihen, welche dieses Problem adressieren. Dabei werden insbesondere Machine-Learning-Verfahren (Autoencoder, Variational Autoencoder, TimeGAN) untersucht und mit algorithmischen Ansätzen (Jittering, Time Warping) verglichen. Die Methoden werden anhand der Kriterien Ähnlichkeit, Diversität und Nützlichkeit bewertet. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass algorithmische Verfahren konsistent bessere Ergebnisse liefern als Machine-Learning-Methoden. Zudem wird festgestellt, dass der Einsatz generativer Machine-Learning-Verfahren nur dann sinnvoll ist, wenn das generative Modell weniger komplex ist als das Modell, welches die synthetischen Daten letztlich verwenden soll.
N2 - In the domain of time series, there is a lack of high-quality data, which can negatively affect the performance of deep learning models. This thesis examines data augmentation methods in the field of time series that address this issue. In particular, machine learning approaches (Autoencoders, Variational Autoencoders, TimeGAN) are investigated and compared with algorithmic techniques (Jittering, Time Warping). The methods are evaluated using discriminative-, visual- and predictive evaluation. The results show that algorithmic approaches consistently yield better outcomes than machine learning methods. Furthermore, it is noted that the use of generative machine learning techniques is only meaningful when the generative model is less complex than the model that will ultimately utilize the synthetic data.

N2 - In der modernen IT-Infrastruktur hat die Container-Technologien sehr viel an Bedeutung gewonnen und finden breite Anwendung in der Softwareentwicklung.
Die zunehmende Komplexität zeitgenössischer Anwendungen erfordert effektive Sicherheitsmaßnahmen, um potenzielle Schwachstellen frühzeitig zu erkennen und zu beheben.
Diese Bachelorarbeit befasst sich mit der Evaluierung verschiedener Vulnerability
Scanner, die speziell für Container-Images entwickelt wurden.
Im Rahmen der Arbeit wird eine einfache Webanwendung mit Frontend und Backend erstellt und anschließend containerisiert. Diese Beispielanwendung dient als Grundlage für die systematische Untersuchung und Bewertung mehrerer Vulnerability Scanner. Ziel ist es, die Ergebnisse der verschiedenen Tools zu analysieren und das effektivste Werkzeug zur Identifizierung von Sicherheitslücken in containerisierten Umgebungen zu bestimmen.
Durch die Analyse und den Vergleich der Ergebnisse wird aufgezeigt, welches Tool die besten Ergebnisse hinsichtlich Erkennungsrate und Genauigkeit liefert. Zusätzlich bietet die Arbeit einen Einblick in die Nutzung der Scanner, woraus sich die Benutzerfreundlichkeit der einzelnen Scanner ableiten lässt.
Diese Arbeit leistet einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Sicherheit und Zuverlässigkeit von
containerisierten Anwendungen in der Praxis und bietet praktische Empfehlungen
zur Optimierung der Containersicherheit.

N2 - Die Bachelorarbeit untersucht die Performance und Ressourcenauslastung von Platform- und Virtual-Threads in Java 21. Im Kontext der E-Commerce-Plattform der Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG stellt sich die Frage, ob die neu eingeführten Virtual-Threads dazu verwendet werden können, den aktuellen Softwareentwicklungsprozess des Unternehmens zu optimieren. Zu diesem Zweck werden Proof-of-Concept-Anwendungen entwickelt, die auf den Webframeworks Spring MVC und Spring WebFlux basieren. Diese Anwendungen werden anschließend einem Stresstest unterzogen, um die Leistungsunterschiede der Threading-Modelle zu analysieren.
Die Ergebnisse der Untersuchung legen nahe, dass die Verwendung von Virtual- Threads im Vergleich zu Platform-Threads in einer asynchronen Spring MVC- Architektur zu einer Reduktion der durchschnittlichen Antwortzeit um etwa 20 % und zu einer Steigerung des Durchsatzes um nahezu 20 % führt. Des Weiteren konnte eine Reduktion der CPU- und RAM-Auslastung bei maximaler Last um 11 % bzw. 13 % festgestellt werden. Obwohl die Spring WebFlux- Architektur unter Verwendung von Platform-Threads und eines Netty-Servers in den meisten Testmetriken bessere Ergebnisse erzielte, sind die Resultate der asynchronen Spring MVC-Architektur mit Virtual-Threads vielversprechend. Eine Implementierung dieser Technologie könnte demnach eine deutliche Verbesserung des aktuellen Softwareentwicklungsprozesses im Unternehmen bewirken.
N2 - The bachelor thesis analyzes the performance and resource utilization of platform and virtual threads in Java 21. In the context of the e-commerce platform of Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG, the question arises as to whether the newly introduced virtual threads can be used to optimize the company's current software development process. To this end, proof-of-concept applications based on the Spring MVC and Spring WebFlux web frameworks are being developed. These applications are then subjected to a stress test to analyze the performance differences between the threading models.
The results of the investigation suggest that the use of virtual threads compared to platform threads in an asynchronous Spring MVC architecture leads to a reduction in the average response time of around 20% and an increase in throughput of almost 20%. Furthermore, a reduction in CPU and RAM utilization at maximum load of 11% and 13%, respectively, was observed. Although the Spring WebFlux architecture using platform threads and a Netty server achieved better results in most test metrics, the results of the asynchronous Spring MVC architecture with virtual threads are promising. Implementing this technology could, therefore, significantly improve the company's current software development process.

Durch den Einsatz von Datenscraping-Techniken auf sozialen Medien (X) in Kombination mit einer Python-basierten Verarbeitungspipeline und Elasticsearch zur Speicherung und Abfrage von Daten wird ein robustes System zur Analyse und Visualisierung bedrohungsrelevanter Informationen entwickelt. Das System integriert Natural Language Processing (NLP) Techniken, wie das Stanford CoreNLP-Framework und den Stucco Entity Extractor, um gesammelte Daten mit Cybersicherheitsentitäten anzureichern. Zudem werden maschinelle Lernmodelle, insbesondere Satztransformatoren, verwendet, um Texte einzubetten und die Kosinus-Ähnlichkeit zwischen potenziellen Bedrohungen und Warnmeldungen zu berechnen. Damit wird gezeigt, dass die Korrelation externer Datenquellen mit Threat Intelligence die Präzision von Alarmen erheblich verbessert und sicherheitsrelevante Einblicke für Analysten liefert. Das finale System bietet eine skalierbare und effiziente Datenverarbeitung sowie Echtzeit-Visualisierungen durch Elasticsearch und Kibana-Dashboards zur Unterstützung der Entscheidungsfindung in der Cybersicherheit.

Diese Arbeit stellt die 41 dabei erfassten Quellen hinsichtlich verschiedener Attribute wie Format, Inhalt und Bereitstellungsmodell vor. Abschließend erfolgt eine übergreifende Auswertung der Quellen in Bezug auf die Formate, in denen sie Informationen bereitstellen. Es wird gezeigt, dass die Verwendung von natürlicher Sprache in den untersuchten Quellen deutlich verbreiteter ist, als der Einsatz strukturierter Formate.

erweitert werden. Ein Konzept, welches sich mit derartigen Maßnahmen beschäftigt wird als
Zero Trust bezeichnet. Diese Arbeit befasst, sich mit der Analyse des Konzepts Zero Trust
sowie dessen praktischer Umsetzung. Ziel ist es, den aktuellen Entwicklungsstand von Zero
Trust-Umgebungen zusammenzufassen und anschließend aus den gewonnenen Erkenntnissen
einen Demonstrator zu konzipieren und letztendlich umzusetzen. Dazu sollen ausschließlich
Open Source Komponenten verwendet werden.
Zu diesem Zweck wurden aktuelle Quellen zu Zero Trust wie NIST, CISA, BSI und wis
senschaftlichen Arbeiten analysiert und deren Inhalte zusammengefasst. Aus den Inhalten
wurde anschließend ein Konzept für die Erstellung eines Zero Trust Demonstrators erarbei
tet. Die praktische Umsetzung des Demonstrators wird anschließend beschrieben sowie auf
Problematiken bei der Implementierung eingegangen. Der Demonstrator konnte nicht- wie
ursprünglich konzipiert- umgesetzt werden, jedoch wurde exemplarisch dargestellt, wie die
komplette Implementation ausgesehen hätte.

Furthermore, a software approach is proposed, allowing students and researchers to easily implement own algorithms for localization, navigation and the tasks to fulfill. Several robots can be integrated in a framework which connects various different hardware platforms, called the BOSPORUS network. Together with other components, they form an intelligent network for gathering sensor and image data, sensor data fusion, navigation and control of mobile platforms. The architecture of a reference platform on the campus of the Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences is presented and evaluated.

N2 - Quick and cost-effective recovery is foundational to high-quality training and good competition results in today’s sports.
The aim of the research was to elucidate the effects of hand and massage chair massage on the biomechanical parameters of muscles of lower limbs and back, indicators of Pain Pressure Thresholds (PPT) and subjectively perceived fatigue.
A total of 32 female recreational athletes (18 – 50 years old) were assigned to a hand massage, massage chair, or lying down the group. They were measured for muscle biomechanical properties (MyotonPro), PPT (Wagner Instruments) and subjectively perceived fatigue (VAS scale) before and after fatigue tests and treatment. The recovery procedure and subjective satisfaction with treatment were rated on a Likert scale.
Changes in the median value of m. rectus femoris and m. gastrocnemius stiffness with treatment showed that hand massage could be more effective in reducing stiffness, as compared to chair massage.
Hand massage may have benefits for recovery from physical exertion, but due to the individuality of subjects, detailed methodological studies are needed to evaluate the effects of massage chair vs. hand massage.

Die Bedarfserhebung in Brandenburg ist die erste, die sich an alle Forschenden sowohl an Fachhoch- schulen als auch an Universitäten eines ganzen Bundeslandes richtet. Erhoben werden Kenntnisstand und Bedarfe für Beratung, Schulung und technische Unterstützung im Umgang mit Daten als Basis für den lokalen und landesweiten Aufbau von Infrastruktur und Serviceangeboten. Der Fragenkatalog basiert auf einer bundesweiten Erhebung an Fachhochschulen zu FDM. Erste Zwischenergebnisse der Erhebung deuten darauf hin, dass die Kenntnisse zu FDM sehr gering und die Bedarfe zu Beratung, Schulungen und unterstützender technischer Infrastruktur hoch sind.

Menschliche Augen weisen räumliche, zeitliche und spektrale Begrenzungen auf, welche die Wahrnehmung einschränken. Geeignete optische Geräte und Kameras helfen, diese zu überwinden und eine große Vielfalt an physikalischen Phänomenen für die Lehre zu erschließen.
Die Angaben zu den Anteilen an aufgenommener Information durch die menschlichen Sinnesorgane schwanken meist zwischen etwa 81 und 87 Prozent für die Augen, 10 bis 11 Prozent für die Ohren und dem Rest für schmecken, riechen und tasten. Das Produktmarketing macht sich dies gezielt zunutze. Offensichtlich ist für alle subjektiven Wahrnehmungen unserer Umwelt das Auge sehr wichtig; in Bezug auf räumliche und zeitliche Auflösung sowie spektrale Empfindlichkeit ist es jedoch eingeschränkt. Die dadurch entstehenden Wahrnehmungsgrenzen für physikalische Vorgänge und Objekte lassen sich durch geeignete optische Geräte mit – das Auge ersetzenden – Sensoren in Kamerasystemen überwinden (Abb. 1). Dies erhöht die Zahl beobachtbarer technischer und natürlicher Phänomene und den daraus gewonnenen Informationsgehalt deutlich. Da entsprechende Kameras relativ preiswert sind und sich damit viele einfache Experimente erfolgreich demonstrieren lassen, kann ein gezielter Einsatz die Lehre der Physik an Schulen und in einführenden Vorlesungen an Hochschulen bereichern und den Einstieg in verwandte Gebiete wie die Infrarotastronomie vorbereiten. N2 - The vast majority of all human sensory inputs occur through our eyes. Light from direct sources or scattered light from objects enters our eyes and is focused onto the retina. The resulting signals are interpreted by the brain, which leads to the perception of the image of the observed objects.
Although quite efficient for our daily life, many technological applications require sensor properties beyond the characteristics of our eyes. A major limitation regarding microscopic objects is spatial resolution, which is overcome by microscopes. Time resolution can be dealt with using either time-lapse or high-speed cameras. Finally, eyes only detect visible radiation within the wavelength range from about 380 nm to 780 nm.
Changing the detected spectral range of electromagnetic radiation can dramatically enhance our vision. Shorter wavelengths such as x-rays are valuable tools for medical imaging, while ultraviolet (UV) imaging is used for forensics. Longer-wavelength thermal radiation used for imaging is often defined within spectral ranges, characterized by the photoelectric detector materials used and the respective atmospheric windows.

N2 - The quantitative explanation of thermal radiation in 1900 by Max Planck started a development, which today has resulted in modern infrared technologies with thermal imaging cameras. The present work briefly describes the fundamentals of infrared imaging, based on the fact, that every object at a temperature T > 0 K emits thermal radiation. Its amount is only governed by temperature and the material quantity emissivity. Factors that define types and properties of commercial IR cameras, such as temperature range in nature and industry, the atmospheric windows for IR radiation as well as available optics and detectors are discussed. A short summary of typical specifications of IR cameras and interpretation of recorded images is given.

N2 - Recently, infrared cameras have become available as smartphone accessories. Being less expensive than regular infrared cameras they are readily affordable and widespread use in the future is expected. Available commercial models are compared and examples for meaningful use and interpretation of respective qualitative images is given. The respective arguments also directly apply to other commonly used low-grade IR cameras with similar pixel resolution and frame rates. It is assumed that users know about the typical problems due to, e.g., thermal reflections. Rather than discussing those, focus is on the danger of wrong interpretations, in particular with regard to the low frame rate, the often implemented image processing within the cameras, the imposed restrictions on necessary input parameters, and the extremely limited spatial resolution and respective errors in potential quantitative analyses.

N2 - Electromagnetic (EM) waves, spanning about 15 orders of magnitude of wavelength (or frequency or energy) from radio waves via microwaves, infrared radiation, visible light, ultraviolet radiation, and X-rays to the highly energetic γ-rays, are utilized in food processing. In order to explain all uses of these waves in the food industry, the chapter begins with a general discussion of properties of waves and their description with wavelength frequency, speed of propagation, and also energy transport. Using visible light as starting point, electromagnetic waves in other wavelength regimes are discussed. The interaction of EM radiation with matter reveals that the wave description alone is insufficient to explain all observed phenomena. Understanding the attenuation of EM radiation in matter requires knowledge of the particle properties of electromagnetic waves, most easily summarized by the concept of photons which carry energy as well as momentum. This wave–particle duality does apply not only to EM waves, i.e. photons, but also to the particles which build up matter, in particular electrons, which also need to be described as waves. This leads to respective quantum mechanical explanations of the microscopic structure of matter in the form of atoms, molecules, and nuclei. Knowledge of their structure is a prerequisite to understand, first, the generation of EM radiation and, second, also its interaction with matter. As a result, it will become obvious that there are mostly three different usages of EM radiation in the food industry: preserving, characterizing, and heating.

N2 - This article examines the digital learning divide in workplace learning, with an emphasis on the disparity in the distribution of advanced learning technologies (ALT) across different types of workplaces. The study employs a rapid literature review methodology to analyze the utilization of ALT in workplace learning. The findings indicate that the use of ALT is predominantly concentrated in the education, health and medical sectors, with limited implementation in other sectors. Moreover, in smaller organizations, in non-technical sectors and among white-collar workers, there are fewer opportunities for technology-enhanced learning. The study highlights the need for more inclusive and comprehensive research to address the digital divide in workplace learning, taking into consideration practice-based evidence and exploring the themes covered by training. Furthermore, the paper proposes an investigation into the complexity and resource intensity of implementing ALT to enhance technology-based learning in all workplaces. In general, this research establishes the basis for comprehending and bridging the digital learning divide in the workplace.

N2 - In this study, we have investigated the form of velocity and pressure functions of a fluid oscillating between two parallel glass sheets that form a circular Hele-Shaw cell. The flow has been considered to be radial, incompressible and laminar. The time-dependent Navier-Stokes equation has been solved in cylindrical coordinates using Fourier transform, and the oscillating flow velocity across the thickness of the cell has been obtained at different times. The flow velocity function in the unsteady state is related to the vertical component of the coordinates in the form of parabolic functions and also to the inverse of the radial component. The time dependence appears as a simple harmonic with a frequency equal to the oscillation frequency. The velocity of the flow is maximum at the middle of the cell along its height and gradually decreases from the middle towards the top or bottom plane and reaches zero. Pressure does not depend on the height and changes logarithmically with the radius. The dependence of pressure on time is also a simple harmonic with the external frequency, but it has a phase shift with respect to the velocity.

N2 - With the release of the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max in 2020, various features were integrated that make it attractive as a recording device for scene-related computer graphics pipelines. The captured Apple RAW images have a much higher dynamic range than the standard 8-bit images. Since a scene-based workflow naturally has an extended dynamic range (HDR), the Apple RAW recordings can be well integrated. To correctly integrate the iPhone 12 pro Apple RAW data into a scene-related workflow, two command-line software solutions, among others, are dcraw and rawtoaces. In this paper, we concentrate on dcraw. dcraw offers the possibility to export RAW images directly to ACES2065-1. Different images recorded under different lighting conditions are examined to determine which options for the dcraw development produce the best results. Images from five different lighting situations like D65, D60, D55, D50, and 2980K, are examined. The DNG files are developed using different methods within dcraw. The values of the recorded ColorChecker24 patches are compared to reference values derived from BabelColor [1] and ACES [2].

N2 - In this work, the most relevant 3D LiDAR technologies and their applications in 2022 were investigated. For this purpose, applications of LiDAR systems were classified into the typical application areas "3D modeling", "smart city", "robotics", "smart automotive" and "consumer goods". The investigation has shown that neither "mechanical" LiDAR technologies, nor so-called solid-state LiDAR technologies, nor "hybrid" LiDAR technologies can be evaluated as optimal for the typical application areas. In none of the application areas could all of the elaborated requirements be met. However, the "hybrid" LiDAR technologies such as sequential MEMS LiDAR technology and sequential flash LiDAR technology proved to be among the most suitable for most typical application areas. However, other technologies also tended to be suitable for individual typical application areas. Finally, it was found that several of the LiDAR technologies investigated are currently equally suitable for some typical application areas. To evaluate the suitability, concrete LiDAR systems - of different technologies and properties - were compared with the specific requirements of exemplary applications of an application area. The results of the investigation provide an orientation as to which LiDAR technology is promising for which application area.

N2 - In diesem Whitepaper fokussieren wir uns auf die KI-Verordnung nicht erfasste freiwillige Zertifizierung. Dabei stehen die Interessen und Sichtweisen der Verbraucher*innen im Vordergrund. Als Verbraucher*innen betrachten wir nicht nur die unmittelbaren Nutzer*innen von KI-Systemen, sondern auch Privatpersonen, die indirekt von KI-Ergebnissen betroffen sein können. Zudem berücksichtigen wir Menschen in der Rolle als souveräne Datensubjekte, deren personenbezogene Daten in die Entwicklung von KI-Systemen einfließen. Dieses breite Verständnis des Verbraucher*innenbegriffs entspricht dem Selbstverständnis des Zentrums für vertrauenswürdige Künstliche Intelligenz (ZVKI). Wir stellen Thesen auf, wie freiwillige Zertifizierungen von KI-Systemen für Verbraucher*innen nützlich sein können. Die im Verlauf vorgestellten und begründeten acht Thesen wurden in einer Reihe von interdisziplinären Workshops erarbeitet. Dabei identifizierten wir Herausforderungen einer KI-Zertifizierung aus Verbraucher*innensicht und präzisierten diese iterativ. Die Gruppendiskussionen dienten als Grundlage dieses Whitepapers und bauten auf Erkenntnissen der Fach-Arbeitsgruppe „KI Zertifizierung“ des ZVKI auf. Alle Co-Autor*innen waren an der Erstellung des finalen Texts beteiligt. Die aufgestellten Thesen thematisieren grundlegende Anforderungen an eine KI-Zertifizierung aus einer übergeordneten Perspektive, unabhängig von den spezifischen Details einer KI-Anwendung. Somit liefern sie keine Aussagen zu konkreten Inhalten der Zertifizierung. Detaillierte Empfehlungen setzen eine umfassende Analyse von Einsatzfällen voraus, die in diesem Rahmen nicht geleistet werden kann.

In Bezug auf IT-GRC bleiben KMU demgegenüber faktisch oft noch unreif. Bestehende Ansätze des IT-Governance-, Risiko- und Compliance-Managements sind noch zu wenig für KMU ausgestaltet. Das Kapitel stellt vor diesem Hintergrund einen zunächst aus der Literatur abgeleiteten, und dann zusammen mit Feedback von 14 IT-GRC Experten aufgestellten, kompetenzorientierten Ansatz zur Wahrnehmung und Messung des IT-Governance-, Risiko- und Compliance-Managements in KMU vor. Der Ansatz enthält sechs relevante Kompetenzkategorien. Das Kapitel stellt dann zwei abgeleitete, webbasierte Tools zur Messung und Erfassung der Handlungsbedarfe und zur Unterstützung von Management-Maßnahmen vor. Der Ansatz sowie die prototypisch realisierten Tools unterstützen das IT-GRC-Management von KMU gemäß ihrem Reifegrad und bedarfsorientiert. Bei der Unterstützung wird der Fokus darauf gelegt, KMU bei der Umsetzung der ständig wachsenden IT-GRC-Anforderungen schlanke und konkrete Methoden, Werkzeuge und Hilfsmittel an die Hand zu geben und die verschiedenen Stakeholder einzubinden.

N2 - The problem of increasing the efficiency of existing photodetectors and creating their new types attracts much research attention. Among new photodetector types are photosensitive structures based on cascade concentrators, whose operational principle involves the absorption of optical radiation followed by its reemission at a longer wavelength and radiation concentration onto a highly efficient small-area photodetector. The absorption and re-emission spectra of each cascade layer depend on the characteristics of the material used. Сolloidal quantum dots are among the most promising materials for cascade layers due to their manufacturing technology, which provides for accurate control over the photoluminescence maximum position. It seems highly relevant to develop and to study photosensitive structures with cascade concentrators of various shapes based on CdS, CdSe/ZnS, and PbS colloidal quantum dots. Aim . To develop photosensitive structures with a wide-range sensitivity spectrum based on concentrators containing arrays of metal chalcogenide CQDs and to study their characteristics. Materials and methods . Cascade photosensitive structures were manufactured based on layers made of polymethyl methacrylate and layers of colloidal quantum dots embedded in a polystyrene matrix. Results . Three-layer concentrators were manufactured with different colloidal quantum dots in each concentrator layers. A 22 % increase in the output power was observed for a three-layer cascade structure based on different cascade layer materials compared to a similar structure using a single layer concentrator. Conclusion . The conducted studies showed an increase in the efficiency of photosensitive structures with a cascade concentrator based on colloidal quantum dots of various types (CdS, CdSe/ZnS, and PbS) in the cascade layers.

Dieser ändert sich mit der Entfernung entlang der Sichtlinie zwischen Objekt und Auge aufgrund von Lichtstreuung und Absorption an den Bestandteilen der Atmosphäre. Dazu kommt bei der Fernsicht die Refraktion, die es erlaubt, auch über den durch die Kugelform der Erde geometrisch bedingten Horizont hinaus zu sehen.

N2 - This paper presents a study on the feasibility of using large language models (LLM) for coding with low-resource and domain-specific programming languages that typically lack the amount of data required for effective LLM processing techniques. This study focuses on the econometric scripting language named hansl of the open-source software gretl and employs a proprietary LLM based on GPT-3.5. Our findings suggest that LLMs can be a useful tool for writing, understanding, improving, and documenting gretl code, which includes generating descriptive docstrings for functions and providing precise explanations for abstract and poorly documented econometric code. While the LLM showcased promoting docstring-to-code translation capability, we also identify some limitations, such as its inability to improve certain sections of code and to write accurate unit tests. This study is a step towards leveraging the power of LLMs to facilitate software development in low-resource programming languages and ultimately to lower barriers to entry for their adoption.

This research explores the potential low code development has for business users to address their needs for process support via software tools. The experiment was chosen as the research method to assess the feasibility of software development with LCDP by novices. The results point towards a dedicated LCDP implementation approach if the technology is to be implemented in the business context. Hence, the research provides suggestions on how Business Unit Developers (BUD) can be supported to efficiently deliver productive results and how to assess LCDP-based development process and points towards potential challenges of LCDP implementation.

N2 - Instant Messaging (IM) is an increasingly popular form of communication in which two or more people exchange text-based multi-media messages in real time. However, as a result of aging, users have different needs and requirements towards the design of the communication application. This paper examines the preferences of users of different ages towards the User Interface (UI) design of Mobile Instant Massage (MIM) applications, i.e., instant message applications that can operate on smartphones. An online survey data about users' preferences towards the UI of this application type, limited to Indonesian users, was obtained. The results indicate that for some UI elements, both age groups showed the same preferences, while other requirements were significantly different. This paper aims to give a better understanding of the interface of the MIM application preferred by its users according to their age and thus inform application designers and product owners.

It is not only a matter of justice but furthermore in the interest of the rich countries in the global north to contribute massively to financing a "green leapfrogging" of the global south into a carbon-free prosperity. Die Phönix Lebensversicherung, mit Sitz in Wien und Kunden in 22 Ländern, wurde im Jahr 1936 zahlungsunfähig. Sie hatte riesige Verluste aufgetürmt, Bilanzen gefälscht und Schlüsselpersonen hofiert. Ihr Sturz drohte eine europaweite Finanzkrise auszulösen und wurde mit diktatorischen Maßnahmen aufgefangen. Das Buch schildert die wirtschaftliche wie politische Rolle des Versicherers vor 1918, während der Weimarer Republik und ab 1933.
