However, the related terminology is not unified among the different domains, such as digital media steganography, text steganography, cyber-physical systems steganography, network steganography (network covert channels), local covert channels, and out-of-band covert channels. To cope with this, a prime attempt has been done in 2015, with the introduction of the so-called hiding patterns, which allow to describe hiding techniques in a more abstract manner. Despite significant enhancements, the main limitation of such a taxonomy is that it only considers the case of network steganography. Therefore, this paper reviews both the terminology and the taxonomy of hiding patterns as to make them more general. Specifically, hiding patterns are split into those that describe the embedding and the representation of hidden data within the cover object. As a first research action, we focus on embedding hiding patterns and we show how they can be applied to multiple domains of steganography instead of being limited to the network scenario. Additionally, we exemplify representation patterns using network steganography.}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{NeubertVielhauerKraetzer2021, author = {Neubert, Tom and Vielhauer, Claus and Kraetzer, Christian}, title = {Artificial Steganographic Network Data Generation Concept and Evaluation of Detection Approaches to secure Industrial Control Systems against Steganographic Attacks}, series = {ARES 2021: The 16th International Conference on Availability, Reliability and Security, August 2021}, booktitle = {ARES 2021: The 16th International Conference on Availability, Reliability and Security, August 2021}, doi = {10.1145/3465481.3470073}, pages = {1 -- 9}, year = {2021}, language = {en} } @book{TeuberNagelMieke2021, author = {Teuber, Stephan and Nagel, Michael and Mieke, Christian}, title = {Personal und Organisation}, publisher = {UVK Verlag}, address = {T{\"u}bingen}, isbn = {978-3-7398-3127-5 (Print)}, publisher = {Technische Hochschule Brandenburg}, pages = {137}, year = {2021}, language = {de} } @incollection{ScheegRangnowScheeg2021, author = {Scheeg, Michaela and Rangnow, Juliane and Scheeg, Jochen}, title = {Nutzerzentriertheit als wesentliche Dimension f{\"u}r die Nachhaltigkeit von Digitalisierungsvorhaben}, series = {CSR und Digitalisierung : der digitale Wandel als Chance und Herausforderung f{\"u}r Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft}, booktitle = {CSR und Digitalisierung : der digitale Wandel als Chance und Herausforderung f{\"u}r Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft}, editor = {Hildebrandt, Alexandra}, edition = {2. The interplay between the phase transition effects and the contact-line motion, leading to its arrest, remains poorly understood. Here we reveal the early solidification patterns and dynamics of spreading hexadecane droplets. Total internal reflection imaging is employed to temporally and spatially resolve the early solidification behavior. With this, we determine the conditions leading to the contact-line arrest. We quantify the overall nucleation behavior, i.e., the nucleation rate and the crystal growth speed and show its sensitivity to the applied undercooling of the substrate. We also show that for strong enough undercooling it is the rapid growth of the crystals which determines the eventual arrest of the spreading contact line. By combining the Johnson-Mehl-Avrami-Kolmogorov nucleation theory and scaling relations for the spreading, we calculate the temporal evolution of the solid area fraction, which is in good agreement with our observations.}, language = {en} } @techreport{ScheegScheegFitz2021, author = {Scheeg, Jochen and Scheeg, Michaela and Fitz, Lukas R. Es geht darum, Deepfake-Marketing zu analysieren und vier eigene Deepfakes zu erstellen, um m{\"o}gliche Effekte bei Rezipienten zu erkennen. Unfortunately, research has mentioned that older users often face challenges in using them. Although some papers have created guidelines for designing interfaces for the elderly, these applications are still focused on developing according to the need of young people. In addition, the aging of adults increases their chances of facing some difficulties. Therefore, this thesis aims to give a better understanding of the interface of the mobile instant messaging (MIM) application preferred by its users, specifically Indonesian users. By distributing an online-based survey to 150 Indonesian users of the MIM application, the preferences of several features in the message list and messaging interface of this application are collected. Then, the statistical analysis of the results found that the preferences of both users' age groups differ. Among them are the button or icon each age group finds more suitable, the bottom bar in the messaging interface, and the placement of action options to be performed to the message they prefer most. The forecast of the market share of new BEV car registrations in Germany can help efficiently evaluate strategic and future-oriented decisions, e.g., the climate targets set by the federal government. Machine learning methods were used to implement forecasting. Two machine learning models were used to forecast of the market share of new BEV car registrations in Germany: SARIMA(X) and DeepAR model. Due to variety in input datasets, four univariate and multivariate time series analysis models were trained. Afterwards, all four trained models were compared with each other using the RMSE metric. The last six months of the dataset were used to evaluate the model quality. The result of model comparison shows that SARIMAX model needs the exogenous variables to create a forecast of the multivariate data sets. However, the DeepAR model does not require any exogenous variables to generate forecast. Furthermore, if the input dataset contains at least 300 observations, then the implementation of DeepAR model is much more advantageous than SARIMA(X) model. DeepAR model not only supports the univariate and multivariate datasets, but also creates a global model that generates a forecast per variable. To interact with the digital world, we use gestures (most common: swipe gestures), voice, facial expressions and mental commands. The latter has become more important by recent press releases about scientific achievements, for example, from Neuralink [1] using invasive technology to control a computer game by thoughts only [2]. Another study says an application can display text on a screen by just thinking about a word [3]. Currently, BCIs are mainly developed for neurotechnology and healthcare. However, it is a question of time when these services will be available for commercial products for everyday life. (Until then, manufacturers have to minimize health risks and face privacy and safety regulations.) The thesis is that in the future, you will be able to interact with your digital devices just by using your thoughts and you'll do much faster. This makes sense in many situations where you f. e. do not have a free hand (manufacturing, sports) or cannot speak (underwater). But for such services, you cannot rely on conventional visual design guidelines or interaction patterns, frameworks or libraries. Navigation interacting with a digital service by mental command has a lot of advantages, the human brain comes naturally with some specific features that force us to find a radically new way to interact with digital interfaces. The following study introduces you first into working conditions with mental commands, comparing invasive and non-invasive technologies, and later on comparing several possibilities of interaction patterns for a BCI of everyday usage. There are three main reasons for this development. First, on the one hand, it is the immersive character of this media form, and, on the other hand, the development of recording and presentation technology has made significant progress in terms of resolution and quality. Third, after a decade of dynamic rising, the MICE Industry focuses on a disruptive change for more digital-based solutions. 360-degree panoramas are particularly widespread in VR and AR technology. However, despite the high immersive potential, these forms of presentation have the disadvantage that the users are isolated and have no social contact during the performance. Therefore, efforts have been made to project 360-degree content in specially equipped rooms or planetariums to enable a shared experience for the audience. One application area for 360-degree panoramas and films is conference rooms in hotels, conference centers, and any other venues that create an immersive environment for their clients to stimulate creativity. This work aims to overview the various application scenarios and usability possibilities for such conference rooms. In particular, we consider applications in construction, control, tourism, medicine, art exhibition, architecture, music performance, education, partying, organizing and carrying out events, and video conferencing. Light from direct sources or scattered light from objects enters our eyes and is focused onto the retina. The resulting signals are interpreted by the brain, which leads to the perception of the image of the observed objects. Although quite efficient for our daily life, many technological applications require sensor properties beyond the characteristics of our eyes. A major limitation regarding microscopic objects is spatial resolution, which is overcome by microscopes. Time resolution can be dealt with using either time-lapse or high-speed cameras. Finally, eyes only detect visible radiation within the wavelength range from about 380 nm to 780 nm. Changing the detected spectral range of electromagnetic radiation can dramatically enhance our vision. In order to explain all uses of these waves in the food industry, the chapter begins with a general discussion of properties of waves and their description with wavelength frequency, speed of propagation, and also energy transport. Using visible light as starting point, electromagnetic waves in other wavelength regimes are discussed. The interaction of EM radiation with matter reveals that the wave description alone is insufficient to explain all observed phenomena. Understanding the attenuation of EM radiation in matter requires knowledge of the particle properties of electromagnetic waves, most easily summarized by the concept of photons which carry energy as well as momentum. This wave-particle duality does apply not only to EM waves, i.e. photons, but also to the particles which build up matter, in particular electrons, which also need to be described as waves. This leads to respective quantum mechanical explanations of the microscopic structure of matter in the form of atoms, molecules, and nuclei. Knowledge of their structure is a prerequisite to understand, first, the generation of EM radiation and, second, also its interaction with matter. As a result, it will become obvious that there are mostly three different usages of EM radiation in the food industry: preserving, characterizing, and heating.}, language = {en} } @incollection{AndreasDaniel2022, author = {Andreas, Johannsen and Daniel, Kant}, title = {IT-Governance-, Risiko- und Compliance-Management (IT-GRC) - Ein kompetenzorientierter Ansatz f{\"u}r KMU}, series = {Faktor Mensch}, booktitle = {Faktor Mensch}, editor = {Weber, Kristin and Reinheimer, Stefan}, publisher = {Springer Vieweg}, address = {Wiesbaden}, doi = {10.1007/978-3-658-34524-2_15}, publisher = {Technische Hochschule Brandenburg}, pages = {275 -- 294}, year = {2022}, abstract = {Kleine und mittlere Unternehmen aller Branchen versuchen sich nach wie vor angemessen mit den Herausforderungen der Globalisierung und der digitalen Transformation auseinanderzusetzen. This leads to a series of disruptive impacts on the education systems resulting in a people who are poorly or improperly educated, and thus are not equipped with the necessary skills required for the vast technical, professional and ever modernizing high-skill job markets such as construction, economic and technical professions, teaching occupations and so on, all of which drive economic growth and development. Therefore, we can see that rapid population growth, if left unchecked, may lead to overpopulation scenarios which could have a negative disruptive impact on education and human development, both of which are important factors necessary for economic growth. For this purpose, a general understanding of the terms "globalization" and "deglobalization" will be provided. In addition, the drivers and challenges of (de)globalization are explained in more detail. The question was then examined based on specific case studies, which are decisive for today's prosperity and are predominantly imported. This includes gases, oils, and rare earths. The paper distinguishes between the effects of a loss of these resources on Germany, if the deglobalization takes place slowly and planned or unplanned and fast. The effects are then considered at three different levels: at the government level, at the corporate level, and at the population level. At the corporate level, the focus was primarily on the largest German industries. Each of the case studies ends with possible hypothetical scenarios that do not have to happen but could happen in the worst case. The scenarios show how bad things can get and provide an answer to the scientific question of how deglobalization in the case study could affect Germany.}, subject = {Nat{\"u}rliche Ressourcen}, language = {en} } @article{PufalShunBenAmmaretal.2023, author = {Pufal, Jakob and Shun, Hanna and Ben Ammar, Rami and Jeckstadt, Janik and Schultheiß, John}, title = {The Great Shutdown}, doi = {10.25933/opus4-2894}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:kobv:522-opus4-28942}, pages = {II, 17, VI Seiten}, year = {2023}, abstract = {This research aims to examine the potential impact of a military escalation of the China-Taiwan conflict on global economies, with a particular focus on the microchip production industry in Taiwan. The study focuses on two main areas: the weakening of the media and the emergence of "smart dictatorship." The paper examines the ways in which AI can be used to supervise, manipulate, and frustrate the media, thereby weakening its role as a check on government and corporate power. The study also explores how AI technology can be used to create an "omnidirectional monitoring" society, where individuals are constantly monitored and controlled through the use of "panopticon" techniques and "social bots". This can lead to the emergence of a "postdemocratic" society, characterized by growing inequality, dehumanization, and the manipulation of information on online media platforms. The research methodology adopted in the study is qualitative, using expert interviews with three experts who discussed the overall use of AI and its disruptive effects on democracy, such as the creation of fake news, filter bubbles, and algorithm bias.
