Die eigenen bruchmechanischen Analysen wurden bei Ber{\"u}cksichtigung der Kaltverformung des Schienenmaterials durchgef{\"u}hrt, wodurch die Materialeigenschaften nicht mehr isotrop, sondern orthotrop und abh{\"a}ngig vom Grad der Kaltverformung sind. Die bruchmechanischen Rißausbreitungsanalysen wurden unter der konservativen Annahme eines geneigten Einzelrisses bei zweidimensionaler Idealisierung durchgef{\"u}hrt. Hinsichtlich der Beanspruchung wurde angenommen, daß die Schiene an der Fahrfl{\"a}che biege-druck- und kontakt-beansprucht ist. Die bruchmechanischen Analysen wurden als Monte-Carlo-Simulation gestaltet, wobei die bruchmechanischen Rißwachstumseigenschaften in Abh{\"a}ngigkeit der jeweils erreichten Rißtiefe ber{\"u}cksichtigt wurden. Aus dem Streufeld der simulierten Rißausbreitungskurven wurde als repr{\"a}sentativ diejenige Kurve genommen, der eine Rißwachstumsgeschwindigkeit von 90\% zugeschrieben wurden kann. Diese repr{\"a}sentative Rißwachstumskurve wurde modifiziert, um letztlich eine Kurve zur Bewertung der sich entwickelnden Rollkontakterm{\"u}dungsrisse abzuleiten. Die Analysen f{\"u}r die Head Checks und die Squats unterscheiden sich nur durch unterschiedliche Rißneigungswinkel, die f{\"u}r Head Checks im Mittel 16,4°, f{\"u}r Squats im Mittel 10,1° betragen. Um das bruchmechanische Problem der Ausbreitung der Rollkontakt-Erm{\"u}dungsrisse umfassend zu betrachten, sind auch Analysen und Bewertungen f{\"u}r Risse vorgenommen worden, die aus der geneigten Richtung in den Querschnitt der Schiene umgeschlagen sind. Der Querriß wird idealisiert mit einer geraden, horizontalen Rißfront, wobei anders als bei den Rollkontakt-Erm{\"u}dungsrissen die Temperaturbeanspruchung f{\"u}r das Rißwachstum wesentlich ist. Angesichts des Umstandes, daß Head Checks in großer Zahl hintereinander auftreten, und daß eine dann gebrochene Schiene bei der weiteren Beanspruchung durch die Fahrzeuge weitere Br{\"u}che zur Folge hat, ist ebenfalls analysiert worden, wie tief die Risse sein m{\"u}ssen, die zu derartigen Folgebr{\"u}chen f{\"u}hren.
