Its outstanding and intuitive support for scientific units makes it an invaluable asset in higher engineering education. SMath Studio has been used for more than ten years in various courses at Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany (Technische Hochschule Brandenburg, THB). To enhance the usability of the software, substantial contributions have been made. One of them is the Maxima plugin for access to the free and open-source computer algebra system Maxima. This plugin combines the flexible notebook format of SMath Studio with powerful symbolic functions like integrals and solvers for algebraic and differential equations. Additionally, the plugin adds interactive 3D graphics to SMath. The paper discusses the basic design, features, and limitations, and showcases some applications.}, language = {en} } @book{Kraska2023, author = {Kraska, Martin}, title = {Technisches Rechnen mit SMath : Erste Schritte}, publisher = {Technische Hochschule Brandenburg}, address = {Brandenburg}, doi = {10.25933/opus4-2947}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:kobv:522-opus4-29479}, publisher = {Technische Hochschule Brandenburg}, pages = {37}, year = {2023}, subject = {SMath}, language = {de} } @book{Kraska2023, author = {Kraska, Martin}, title = {Technisches Rechnen mit SMath : Matrizen, Diagramme, Datenverarbeitung}, publisher = {Technische Hochschule Brandenburg}, address = {Brandenburg}, doi = {10.25933/opus4-2948}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:kobv:522-opus4-29486}, publisher = {Technische Hochschule Brandenburg}, pages = {65}, year = {2023}, subject = {SMath}, language = {de} } @book{Kraska2023, author = {Kraska, Martin}, title = {SMath with Maxima}, publisher = {Technische Hochschule Brandenburg}, address = {Brandenburg}, doi = {10.25933/opus4-2949}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:kobv:522-opus4-29497}, publisher = {Technische Hochschule Brandenburg}, pages = {87}, year = {2023}, subject = {SMath}, language = {en} } @article{Kraska2022, author = {Kraska, Martin}, title = {Meclib: Dynamic and Interactive Figures in STACK Questions Made Easy}, series = {International Journal of Emerging Technologies in Learning (iJET)}, volume = {17}, journal = {International Journal of Emerging Technologies in Learning (iJET)}, number = {23}, publisher = {International Association of Online Engineering}, issn = {1863-0383}, doi = {10.3991/ijet.v17i23.36501}, pages = {15 -- 27}, year = {2022}, abstract = {Making and interpretation of drawings and schematics is an important skill to be developed in engineering education. The question type STACK in the Moodle learning management system combined with the interactive graphics library JSXGraph has a great potential for implementation of e-learning resources addressing these skills in formative and summative settings. The authoring process of such materials is complex due to multiple markup and programming languages like HTML, LaTeX, Maxima and JavaScript (JS) being involved. The Meclib concept mitigates this complexity and allows for efficient bulk production of material with consistent appearance and user experience. The core of Meclib is a set of pre-defined JSXGraph-based objects with an interface to Maxima, such that no problem specific JS code is required at all. The present paper outlines the basic ideas of the implementation and demonstrates the approach for some typical examples of different complexity. The focus is on applications in engineering mechanics, starting from static illustrations up to an editor for free body diagrams, with rich adaptive formative feedback.}, language = {en} } @book{Kraska2020, author = {Kraska, Martin}, title = {SMath Studio mit Maxima}, publisher = {Technische Hochschule Brandenburg}, address = {Brandenburg}, doi = {10.25933/opus4-2946}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:kobv:522-opus4-29463}, publisher = {Technische Hochschule Brandenburg}, pages = {348}, year = {2020}, subject = {Software}, language = {de} } @inproceedings{Kraska2016, author = {Kraska, Martin}, title = {Model Sail Car Project Based Learning for Second Year Students of Mechanical Engineering}, series = {Didaktik - Forum THB, 5.10.2016}, booktitle = {Didaktik - Forum THB, 5.10.2016}, organization = {Technische Hochschule Brandenburg}, pages = {20}, year = {2016}, language = {en} } @misc{Kraska2016, author = {Kraska, Martin}, title = {Werkstofflehre im Bereich Maschinenbau - Beispiel der Technischen Hochschule Brandenburg}, year = {2016}, language = {de} } @inproceedings{KraskaJakobi2015, author = {Kraska, Martin and Jakobi, L.}, title = {Computer aided course of mechanics of materials}, series = {7th International Materials Education Symposium (Cambridge, April 9-10 2015)}, booktitle = {7th International Materials Education Symposium (Cambridge, April 9-10 2015)}, year = {2015}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{Kraska2015, author = {Kraska, Martin}, title = {Transferangebote zum Leichtbau aus Forschung und Lehre an der Fachhochschule Brandenburg}, series = {Metalldialog Ostbrandenburg in Eisenh{\"u}ttenstadt - "Metall trifft Leichtbau", 17.09.2015}, booktitle = {Metalldialog Ostbrandenburg in Eisenh{\"u}ttenstadt - "Metall trifft Leichtbau", 17.09.2015}, year = {2015}, language = {de} } @misc{Kraska2014, author = {Kraska, Martin}, title = {Universalberechnungssoftware SMath Studio f{\"u}r technische Berechnungen im Studiengang Maschinenbau \& Virtuelle Mechanik-Experimente}, year = {2014}, language = {de} } @misc{KraskaHoenlRathmann2014, author = {Kraska, Martin and H{\"o}nl, Fabian and Rathmann, Jan}, title = {Verfahren zur zerst{\"o}rungsfreien Pr{\"u}fung einer F{\"u}geverbindung eines Bauteils mittels Induktions-Thermografie und Anordnung zur Durchf{\"u}hrung des Verfahrens}, year = {2014}, language = {de} } @misc{KraskaHoenlRathmann2014, author = {Kraska, Martin and H{\"o}nl, Fabian and Rathmann, Jan}, title = {Verfahren und Anordnung zum zerst{\"o}rungsfreien Pr{\"u}fen von F{\"u}geverbindungen und Materialdefekten in Bauteilen mittels Induktions-Thermografie}, year = {2014}, language = {de} } @misc{Kraska2014, author = {Kraska, Martin}, title = {Werkstoff- und Strukturmechanik an der Fachhochschule Brandenburg}, year = {2014}, language = {de} } @inproceedings{HoenlKraskaRathmannetal.2013, author = {H{\"o}nl, F. and Kraska, Martin and Rathmann, J. and K{\"u}hner, P.}, title = {Induktive Puls-Thermografie in Reflexionsanordnung}, series = {Thermographie-Kolloquium 2013 : 26. - 27.
