I am writing my thesis, do I have to re-register for the next semester?
The submission of your thesis as well as your colloquium counts as an examination performance. You must be re-registered for the semester in which you hand in your Bachelor's or Master's thesis or in order to complete your colloquium.
How long am I still enrolled after submitting my thesis?
If you have passed your last examination (colloquium), you will remain enrolled until the end of the current semester (WS 28/29 February, SoSe 31 August). However, if you would like to be exmatriculated earlier (e.g. on the day of the colloquium), please submit the exmatriculation application to the Registrar's Office.
I have uploaded the thesis. What do I have to do now?
If the thesis has been evaluated by both reviewers with at least "sufficient" (4.0) and no further examination or study achievements are still open, a colloquium on the thesis is held under the direction of the first reviewer. The date is set by the first examiner in consultation with the second examiner and the student. During the colloquium, the student explains the results of his/her work, usually by means of a lecture and a possible system demonstration (duration: approx. 30 minutes) followed by a series of questions from the appointed reviewers on the subject area. This may be followed by a discussion of all those present at the examination. Minutes are taken of the course and results of the colloquium.
I have successfully completed my studies, how/where do I get my certificate(s)?
After the assessors have communicated the grades from the colloquium to the examination office, the final documents are prepared. As a rule, this takes about 4 weeks. After completion, the documents are sent by post to the address stored in Campus Management.
