The proposed solution meets the latest trends in world power engineering and has the lowest ecological costs amongst the accessible power engineering solutions. It is also in accordance with the Polish power engineering law, which takes into account the recommendations of the European Economic Commission, the Second Sulphur Protocol and the Framework Convention of the United Nations (concerning the changes of climate).
In the time of increased awareness about the environment problems by the public opinion and intensive international effort to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, as well increase of the generation of electrical energy to facilitate industrial growth, the conference offers broad contribution towards achieving the goals of diversification and sustainable development. The scope of the Conference is to promote a Forum, where people involved with electrical power systems may exchange their experiences and present solutions found for actual and future problems. The conference offers prominent academics and industrial practitioners from all over the world the forum for discussion about the future of electrical energy and environmental issues and presents a base for identifying directions for continuation of research.
Rapidly developing countries are facing severe environmental problems at an extent that industrialized countries did not have to solve in comparable periods. Freshwaters belong to the ecosystems with the most severe impacts despite they are one of the most vital resources. The Lerma River is one example of a heavily degraded freshwater ecosystem in the rapidly developing country of Mexico. A number of NGOs and governmental institutions have made great efforts to elaborate strategies for the restoration and rehabilitation of the river system during the last years. Scientists from different disciplines and institutions met for a workshop at ININ in February 2009 to discuss the actual degradation of the upper Lerma River and argue about solutions for its sustainable restoration. This also included the presentation and discussion of new technologies that are currently in an experimental stage, but have the potential to solve different river pollution problems in the near future.
In the time of increased awareness about the environment problems by the public opinion and also intensive international efforts to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, as well increase of the generation of electrical energy to facilitate industrial growth, the conference offers broad contribution towards achieving the goals of diversification and sustainable development.
Focus of the student conference is to promote the discussion of views from scientists and students from Wroclaw University of Technology, Technical University of Ostrava and Brandenburg Technical University of Cottbus.
