This work concentrates mainly on the production of bio-based products through innovative processing and refinement of biogenous residues originating from agricultural (cereal straws), industrial (lignin from black liquors) and biotechnological (biogas residues) processes. The innovative processing and refinement of the processes and their end-products solve the challenges which were not possible within the conventional processes. The innovative processes improve the cascading as well as sustainable utilization possibilities with a simultaneous value addition of the residues. Converting biogenous residues into a valuable end-product requires various preprocessing of the raw materials and are material specific (physical and chemical compositions). Agglomeration of theses residues is chosen as one of the main innovative processes making the handling of the products easier. Agglomeration in this work is carried out using press / densification processes in case of cereal straws, build-up processes in case of black liquors and encapsulation processes in case of biotechnological residues.}, subject = {Organischer Abfall; Nat{\"u}rliche Ressourcen; Reststoff; Recycling; Umweltvertr{\"a}gliches Produkt; Aufbereitung; Veredlung; Stoffumwandlung; Getreide Stroh; Lignin; G{\"a}rresten; Processing; Beneficiation; Refinement; Material transformation; Cereal straws; Lignin; Biogas residues}, language = {en} } @phdthesis{Gaydardzhiev2006, author = {Gaydardzhiev, Stoyan}, title = {Upon the characterization of destabilization and stabilization phenomena in fine particulate systems - implications to physicochemical removal of colour from effluents and colloidal processing of ceramics}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:kobv:co1-opus-3471}, school = {BTU Cottbus - Senftenberg}, year = {2006}, abstract = {The work is dedicated to the aspects of characterization of surface charge phenomena in two colloidal systems: synthetic mixtures of textile dyes and aqueous suspension of ceramic powders. An implication to the areas of physicochemical colour removal from textile effluents and gel-casting of ceramics is made. A model for dye-coagulant interaction has been developed based on surface charge density and floc size investigations. Various dispersant optimization techniques have been compared in stabilizing aqueous slurries of ultra-fine alumina particles, the zeta potential derived from CVI measurements being viewed as a most reliable one. The chemical environment of the ceramic slurry together with maintaining an optimal process conditions in gel-casting plays an equally important role in providing a desired properties of complex shaped ceramic bodies.}, subject = {Keramik; Farbstoff; Feinpartikelsysteme; Stabilisierung; Keramik; Farbstoffabbau; Fine particulates; Stabilization; Ceramics; Dye effluents}, language = {en} }
